Love their salad and variety of teas!!! Okay it is a bit pricey but if you think about it, what you pay is what you get!!! I don't normally say that ... But in this case it is very different (many restaurants out there like to cheat; check out some of my other reviews and you will understand where I come from). You can pick any ingredients they have available (all sorts of veges) and I believe they will charge you a buck for adding avocado. Add chicken/seafood for extra 2 or 3 bucks. The salad dressings are very yummy. The entire salad filled me up super well the whole night under 10 bucks. No desserts nothing after all. I had the spicy chipotle chicken salad and tried out all their teas. Raspberry sweet tea is my favorite. The next one is the tropical one (not sweet but super duper refreshing). Just give it a try and you will love it! I will return for more salads on weekends!!! :) read more

Big fan of salata as it is one of the only health restaurants at memorial mall. I usually get the salata wrap and there are a lot of things too add. Highly recommend the turkey. Typically has a long line during lunch but they move quickly. The only thing I would like to see is low calorie wraps as all the wraps are at least 300 calories. read more

Nothing to complain about here. I got a very tasty salad the way I wanted it with good friendly service. Hard to believe the reviews about unfriendly service. The staff wasn't over-the-top friendly but were accommodating. If you are looking for a good salad, this is the place. I personally like this better than Chipotle. When I mentioned that I was trying to stay away from Gluten, the staff asked if I needed Gluten free. They showed concern to make sure I wasn't diet stricken from eating Gluten. read more

Steven the Manager is the best. I had arrived before they opened at 11:00, to get a wrap for my daughter (who had a special day at school where I could bring a lunch and eat with her). I was told by a staff member when I called earlier in the week they opened at 10:00. I was in a panic when I saw they were closed! I have eaten many times at the Salata in Vintage Park and never had a single issue. Great food, fresh and made to order with great customer service. But that is not the case here. 3 of us started to order. 1 regular salad, 1 wrap, and 1 kids salad. I asked for more spinach in my wrap and was told in broken English no. That the wrap would not close. I let it go ... My daughter was proceeding to get her toppings and was told that kids salads were restricted to 3 toppings. ( nothing on the menu indicated that). Davide Sassu, their manager would not budge on this despite there not being anything on their menu to back this up. We at that point had enough of their poor attitude and worse customer service and walked out. I am so disappointed in this particular locations policies, that I will be advising their corporate offices. By far the worst salata location I've been to. Each time I get the same girl making the salad, Wanda, with the worst attitude in the world. I get four things added to my salad and she puts a fourth of a handful of each topping I add. When I ask for more, I get an eye roll and without exaggeration, one more of that topping. I told the manager, and his reply was "well just ask for more!". I shouldn't have to ask five times to get a decent amount of anything in my salad. Especially with the attitude on the side. What ever happened to customer service? This is the second time I've been into Insalata to purchase a salad where most of the produce looks fresh but there's always a problem in that first section with the cucumbers tomatoes and mushrooms. The cucumbers tomatoes and mushrooms looked spoiled for the second time. When inform the manager that the items look spoil they defend the produce an insult you in front of other customers I've gotten sick before from eating there I don't recommend anyone eat there. The manager has been rude and the owner has been rude so eat at your own risk. read more

I frequent this Salata location along with others on the west side of Houston in my pursuit of a healthier lunch choice for my family. I must say this location has improved to be my favorite location and top lunch choice of all. We recently learned that the manager was replaced and boy oh boy we were happy to see that they hired a very nice employee to manage this location. She is the type of person that you just look forward to being around. If you have ever studied the "Rice Experiment" on the internet, you will know that human energy is absorbed into everything in an environment and is critical to our physical and mental health. This group that works in this location are actually all encouraged to watch and understand the Rice Experiment and to practice good heathy energy habits. It's amazing to see how the people in our city are rapidly changing for the better. I am a big fan of eating good, clean, healthy food that is prepared in a positive energy environment. Salata is awesome. Great concept and good quality salads. The only thing that isn't good is the Asian chicken. I've had it two times on different days and the chicken made me sick. I visited this particular location and the staff was really nice and friendly I had a dummy mistake leaving my card in the card and they were really understanding. We actually have work meetings here quite often. This place is my absolute favorite place of all time. Such a good alternative to all the unhealthy or overpriced stuff in the area. I regularly go to the Salata at Memorial City Mall for lunch as I work nearby. Salata is a good concept but I have a few gripes about the way they do business. First of all, Salata is not a good value. The price of a small salad with a little protein is very high. Also, I constantly have issues with the way they make your salad. You tell them what ingredients you want them to add as you go down the line. This method is fine except they add a very small amount of ingredients. You ask for some carrot and they add a few tiny slices unless you speak up. The same is true for everything else. They are obviously trained to add very small amounts of the more expensive ingredients. To make matters worse, most of the employees don't speak fluent English. The bread is included in the price of the salad and for those of us that choose not to eat bread, you still get charged for it even if you don't want it. Considering the other options, Salata is one of the most healthy but they could improve by having better visibility of the nutrition info of their dressings. Some of the dressings have a lot of sugar so check the info on the web site before you go. I will continue to eat here occasionally but will start to look for better values in the area. For a counter service restaurant to earn a 3 star rating in my opinion, they would need to be very good and I would say Salata is price gouging to some degree because they don't have much competition but there are other options around. read more

I visit this location at least once a week. The manager is very friendly, has a huge smile on her face and is always involved with the service. I just get really frustrated that a $10 salad gets 4 pieces of chicken on it. They are so skimpy with their portions that it is ridiculous. I understand everyone needs to make a profit but they are giving you pieces you can literally count for toppings. It's getting worse too. When you ask for a little more, they say small is only one scoop... One scoop still shouldn't be 3 pieces of a diced strawberry. read more

it was my first time eating @ Salata Memorial and it will be my last for sure. besides the fact that is a little over priced, the people working there had no clue about customer service. I asked for a side of ranch for my $13 salad and was told that it was $1 extra dollar. The manager, an Asian lady, just kept saying that she had to charged me for it and nothing else she could do. I just wanted a little bit of ranch dressing but despite me telling her that they should take care of the customer, she kept repeating, that the owner instructed her that every Salata had to charge for extras and there was nothing she could do. Not a good location. They don't give you enough salad for what you pay for and they never give you enough of the protein you pick. They also have bad costumer service and are rude to customers. We've been to several better locations that actually give you what you pay for. read more

Service is terrible. Walked in an hr before closing. 2 guys just looked at me took but took a bit to acknowledge me. The guy that ended up coming had gloves on and was cleaning with a rag and doing multiple things with his gloves on and was about to serve me without changing them. He came to me super rude asked what I wanted and I said if he could please change out his gloves, he went to change them and then went inside the kitchen for some reason, I would not trust that so I just left and ate elsewhere. $7 for a small salad is a great price for a salad with up to 60 choices and completely filling, including a basil roll. By the time I add most of the items, they can barely toss the salad with my favorite dressing, which is lemon ginger. I have never added the $2 meat, because there is enough protein choices without the meat. Almost every restaurant has a $10 and up salad, but Salata will make yours to custom fit your preferences. I tried this place for the first time this Saturday. The food tastes ok, but little did I know what was going to happen to me after. I got food poisoning. That night I started to have diarrhea and was throwing up all over the place. It lasted into the next day. I was running an extremely high fever, and even medicine would not Lower it. Things got so bad that I considered going to the Emergency Room. I had to miss work on Monday just to make sure that my body was back to normal. From my previous medical experience, I would guess that the chicken that I ordered was old and had live bacteria- causing my body to react the way that it did. Well who woulda thunk it?! After hearing about these $14 and up salads, I never thought I would end up here. I was in the mood for a salad and thought this would be a good fit on a hot, healthy day. The first thing I noticed were all the toppings that could be added to your salad! I ordered the small with pesto chicken (additional fees) and grilled shrimp (another additional fee). Geez! Whyyyy in the world would someone charge that much for some letter and liquid flavors? But man oh man, I must admit that was probably the best I've ever eaten and I barely could finish it all. I loved the freshness but if you wanna charge all additional fees please ensure the cost matches the portion. A baby teaspoon of chicken and shrimp is not equivalent to $8 total. Byeeee Felicia. I also didn't like on my receipt (if paying with credit card) there's a space for you to leave a tip. Really?? Girl bye. What a rip off! $9.00 for a salad. First time here so I wasn't aware of how the ordering process went. I felt very rushed by the employees. I asked for a wrap so I could eat on the go. I am very particular when it comes to eating salad which is why I choose to eat here since it is all things salad. I thought surely this place is going to have what I like. I don't like dressing, I only like Chinese and Asian dressing. Anyhow, I get in line, I pick my lettuce "check". I move down the line I pick things to accommodate an Asian chicken salad theme...I like a lot of other things like egg and olive, but I didn't pick that stuff because it doesn't bode well with Asian dressings. So I see they have bean sprouts "check" mandarin oranges "check" a little bit of shredded cheese "check. Ok I'm satisfied so far. I get too the dressings and they have no plum dressing, no Asian dressing, no Chinese dressing. I have an "oh shit" moment. I had to order fat free mango dressing it was the closest thing. I'm praying that I like it in my head. Then I order my meat Asian chicken "check". I get to the end of the line. No crispy won tons, no seasoned almonds. Only croutons "check". Not what I would have picked had they had the others. I see them transfer the dish of salad to a salad container. I told her I wanted a wrap, she said no this is a salad. I'm thinking no shit it's a salad but I wanted a wrap. I asked if they could turn it into a wrap, I had people waiting on me, they didn't want to stand around and watch me eat. She said no this is a salad. " I give up!" I proceed to pay. $9.00 the lady tells me. "Holy crap!"
