I tried this restaurant for the first time after a coworker recommended it and it didn't disappoint! I customized my own bowl in the app and placed it for a certain time. The vinaigrette was my favorite part, it went so well with all of the other items. Everything was flavorful. My only complaint was that they started making my order right after I placed it, instead of waiting for the future time I placed it for. My food sat there ready to go for ~40 minutes as a result. I wish they would pay attention to the requested time so that it was fresh when I picked it up. I might just wait until I'm ready next time to avoid this situation, but recommend regardless! read more

Today, me and my workout buddy had a great workout. So, my friend wanted to eat clean ,and have a healthier lunch. And, he suggested Sweetgreen because he said it's one of his favorite spots. I agreed, to try it out since this was my first time, my friend suggested me to get the Guacamole Greens salad with blacken chicken. Everything was fresh and organic plant based ingredients. Also, they let you sample your protein ,if you're not sure which one to pick. Our server was a very friendly guy, and was knowledgeable about the ingredients and all the products. A friend brought me to sweetgreen many years ago and I enjoyed it as soon as I tried it. Unfortunately, we went to the one in rice village and the parking situation was not great so I seldom went back. However, ever since this Sweetgreen opened up in the post oak area, I've become a frequent customer. My favorite is the shroomami bowl and my husband's favorite is anything with garlic steak. I love that they use mostly organic ingredients and everything is always very fresh. Also really appreciate their giant board of ingredients and where they're sourced from, always fun to read. My only complaint is that if I'm really hungry, one bowl doesn't fill me up all the way. I usually end up snacking on some fruits at home, not a biggie. Nowadays, I usually order on the app for pick up, and sometimes we'll still dine in. The reason is they've run out of roasted mushrooms a few times when I order in the store, so everyone else's food is ready while I'm still waiting for my roasted mushrooms in the shroomami store. Not fun, so ordering online I know for sure I don't need to wait for my roasted mushrooms! Now that they've become seed-oil free, my husband and I are even bigger fans. Sweetgreen is the single most consistent and delicious lunch experience in Houston. In a city with so many options, it says quite a lot to have a go-to place, to be a regular somewhere. I used to be a regular at the Downtown location, now I get my favorites at this location. The Harvest Bowl is a classic Sweetgreen staple. I had it almost every day when I worked in NYC across from a Sweetgreen, and when I moved to Houston I still have it regularly. The Cashew dressing for the arugula chicken bowl is another favorite. They have brilliant recipes, fresh ingredients, great combinations, and it is mostly healthy options. It's a bit pricey, especially for delivery, but a good value for the quality especially compared to similarly priced lunch options. Pro-tip: use the app for delivery instead of Door Dash, so you can build up points. The price difference is just a few cents. The location is sparkling clean. The staff are friendly. The app works, and offers ways to save for regular customers. The line moves quickly. The service always exceeds expectations. This is the most direct, no-bs food store I can think of. No gimmicks, just great food and service. The unfortunate thing is that this location is not terribly convenient for lunch even if you work in the area as one has to drive into it, but it's worth the door-dash. I wish Sweetgreen would get a food truck that parks right outside of the major office buildings in Galleria! I'd be in line every day. read more

Oh my God. I finally found a Roots Natural Kitchen equivalent. Nearing closing hours, I was able to still get serviced a hearty bowl. The freshness of the ingredients (especially the dressing), the portion sizes, the clean space made me so happy to have found a quality salad spot with a convenient location. The menu apparently changes often, which I love, and anywhere I can earn reward points makes a visit even better. I can already tell this place is going to be seeing me way more often. After years of seeing different Sweetgreen locations and never going in, I finally tried it and am sad I waited so long. This franchise is in uptown park so the location is good and parking is available which is always a plus. I arrived around 7PM on a Tuesday night and was surprised to see that there wasn't a single customer inside. The inside of the restaurant is very clean with a decent amount of seating. As such, it provides a quick and casual option. When I went inside, I was greeted by the manager and the team member working behind the counter. The ordering process was quickly explained to me and then we got to making the bowl. I ordered the Harvest Bowl w/ red onion and dressing on the side. I also substituted kale for a blend of romaine and spring mix. Not only did the bowl look great when it was handed to me but it was delicious!! I was seriously craving the crispy rice Bowl and decided to hop in here today . Hmmmm... the employees seemed a bit flustered and agitated. They seemed annoyed as they were working to complete what it appeared to be 3 online orders. I waited there by myself in a non-existent line until a few minutes later, someone decided to acknowledge me. The mood of the place seemed kind of sullen and quiet with just a couple of customers sitting inside. Now, I had never heard of this place until my Yelp Elite Week experience, which was amazing. Unfortunately, I can't say that the level of service was the same at that time, which is a real bummer. The lady who took my order wasn't rude or anything. She just wasn't personable and didn't smile at all. I never got a sorry for the wait or anything, either. Anyway, I went down the line, grabbed my order, and still gave a small tip just because. However, I am certainly disappointed in the level of service I received. This won't stop me from returning, though. It is one of the two closest locations near me, so I will return as soon as my crispy rice Bowl craving comes back. Hopefully, I have a better customer experience then. Aside from all that... the salad was definitely a banger! I tell you! I love the salads they serve here! This place is Chipotle-style in the way that you can create your own bowl/salad, but there are preset menu items if you can't decide. All the ingredients appear to be high quality and I like the options that they have. The dressings are fantastic too (my favorite is the Jalapeno Lime Cilantro Vinaigrette). I came around 1pm on Sunday and the place was pretty packed. There's more parking behind the building so don't let parking scare you. I tried the Italian Chopped Salad which was amazing. Because I had a chickpea allergy, they subbed it out with cilantro. They took great concern over my allergy and even went to grab some ingredients from the back that was too close to the hummus and chickpeas. I requested heavy dressing and she even tossed the salad for me. I was in and out in less then 5 minutes. They do offer bread but it was a bit on the dry end for me (I mean it is sourdough) but I like my bread loaded with butter so thats probably my own issue. read more

I took one of my friends here in a wheelchair and had one of the absolute best experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. This was my third time at Sweetgreen. My first time was because of the Yelp Elite Check-In Week and then on my own accord the following week. That experience was good but I noticed how small the portions were. Hadn't been here since the summer so when my neighbor suggested we grab an early dinner, I forgot about the portion size and obliged to going. When we got there, it was empty and from what I remember, even during lunchtime, it wasn't crowded. But again, this was only my third time here. I also noticed how bright and clean the establishment was, which I appreciated. They had an ad about their new miso glaze salmon so I decided to get that. The young lady who was serving me, who I assume was the manager began building my bowl. When I asked for some cabbage slaw, she told me it would be $1.50 for barely a full grab with tongs. I gasped because that was insane!!!!! $1.50?????? Are you kidding me? Then I asked if I could get an extra scoop of apples and was told that too would be extra. Mind you, I barely got any. I was so annoyed that they were so stingy especially because it was close to closing time. So you're telling me you can't give me 4-5 more pieces of diced apple even though you are going to toss most of this food out in 2 hours???? Give me a break. My bowl ended up being $16.50 and it wasn't worth it at all. The experience irked me so much because I understand inflation, and everything in life is now expensive but you're not weighing the food so what's the issue. The newest Sweet Green location in Houston is located in a charming shopping center by the Galleria. The salads taste very fresh and the service was great. My friend got the Harvest Bowl and she loves it! I built my own salad. They offered rice crispy samples at checkout. This location has the cutest patio seating too. I've heard such positive reports about this restaurant but it was just okay for me. The ingredients don't just pop out as extremely fresh and it really is pricey compared to other comparable places. It was nice that the server allowed me to try the different dressings. Be aware that a medium amount of dressing on your salad is really quite a lot. Did anyone else notice how fishy the Caesar dressing has been? I love sweetgreen, the ingredients are so fresh and they have so many options! But today I noticed that my Caesar dressing was EXTREMELY fishy. And I love an anchovy thrown into dressing but it was A LOT. It is so good and make eating healthy so easy especially if you're new to trying clean, eating habits the only thing I would ask is change the utensils when you're making someone's bowl I have a severe nut allergen, and when I ordered a bowl from DoorDash, I made sure to put no nuts, but I ended up having a small allergic reaction and when I contacted the restaurant, they said it could've been a possibility that maybe whoever prepared the meal use the same utensils I'm not sure how true that is but it could've ended up very bad for me but other than that this is a great restaurant and I won't order through DoorDash anymore. More of a staffing issue as the one person taking orders in there was more worried about online takeout orders than mine I watched him make 3 bowls while I was the only person in line. Then after making my bowl I ask for a piece of bread and he says they "ran out bread" I look behind him there is a fridge full of bread he says that's the premier bread it cost an extra $$$$.
