Hello all! I really enjoyed this place. I went with my mom and we both have own unique palette when it comes to food. There is something for everyone. I got a salad with double protein and pretty much all the vegetables. I took more than half home and it ended up going into my next 3 meals. I made two wraps even. We both agreed that this is our new favorite spot. There are several locations I will try closer to home, but if they are even close to the friendly faces and excellent service I had at Sonterra, than I am sure will be happy. Ps. Who would've thought that building your own salad could be so dang satisfying. Salata is definitely my favorite restaurant to hit up whenever I don't feel like clogging my arteries with fast food. Let me tell you, Salata has some FRESH food. If you never thought a glistening, freshly washed pile of kale could make your mouth water, think again. Just think of what you'd want to have on a salad. The expected carrots, cucumbers, or broccoli? Hard boiled eggs? An assortment of nuts? Grilled chicken, perhaps? A wide selection of house made dressings? And GASP, is that jicama?!! They have it all! And believe me, you're going to want to pile on the toppings, since you can get an unlimited amount (avocado is extra, though). Their croutons are to die for, and you can get a roll and/or pita chips without an additional charge. Salata offers student discounts, and free Wifi to boot. Stone Oak is a ways away from my quiet little suburb, but I know I'd eat here any given day if I was closer. I can't recommend Salata enough!!! read more

Make-Your-Own-Salad restaurants are only as good (or bad) as the salad you create! That said, I've only had positive experiences here and at other similar chains, such as Pluto's. I love the insanely-expansive selection of ingredients and that the toppings are virtually unlimited, including cheeses and less common stuff like sundried tomatoes. Cafeteria-style line allows you to see and select everything easily and monitor your dish as you go. A huge plus is the several different styles of chicken to choose from (pesto, herb grilled, spicy, and more), while a slight downside is that they make their own dressings- I found the herb vinaigrette delicious, but I can imagine some people being frustrated not to find their usual "safe" options. I was also put off by the enormous ladle used for the dressing portions, next time I'll get it on the side, as this completely eliminates any possibility of keeping calories down. Staff are upbeat and polite, but need to speak up a little to be heard over the music and general restaurant noise while behind a counter. Price of $11 for a regular salad with chicken is fair. This Salata location has been my go-to place for fresh, healthy salad especially during the Covid outbreak because, under the manager, Mike, I know they are following the ordinances very carefully... this is of importance to me because my immune system is compromised therefore I need to be extremely careful. The employees there, for example, Lupita and Emily, who helped me today, were courteous and very careful while serving me. This is much appreciated. We love this as one of the few healthy places that deliver. No matter what your dietary preferences, there are options. I love the custom salads and wraps. Always fresh, well-balanced, and packaged neatly. Prices are good and portions are perfect. The only thing I'd caution is not getting too many wet ingredients in a wrap (pineapple, more liquid dressings etc makes it soggy fast). The cookies are very small and kind of dry, too. Looooooove this place. I run for Favor and had an order here that introduced me to the awesomeness. I got a small salad for myself while there to have once I finished the delivery. Ended up thanking the customer for the introduction. She said, "it's great! Like Subway for Salads!" And I replied, "but more fresh...". (I think we all understand what that means.) We come here a few times a month, and every time we leave we feel like we shouldn't come back. One of the only reasons we do is because it is one of the few salad places in the area. But it's getting to a point where it isn't even worth it anymore. As a paying customer, I don't have super high expectations for places. But it is infuriating when I'm the only person in line for 10+ minutes with six workers behind the counter fulfilling online orders and they not once acknowledge me and say, "I'll be right with you." NOTHING. And even when they did wait on me, I didn't feel they were listening to me because as they were putting my toppings on my salad they were using their other hand to fulfill an online order as if the other 5 people standing around couldn't do it. The customer service is lacking big time. I don't care if it's "just a salad place." It won't last if this continues. Salata is a restaurant that serves soups, salads and healthy drinks. The salads are presented like a salad bar, except there are servers there to assemble your salad for you, assembly line style similar to Chipotle or Kava. The selection of ingredients for the salads is excellent, and the ingredients are always fresh and flavorful. Salads can be put together in a small or regular size bowl, or as a wrap. The servers who assemble your salad are very friendly and meticulously put measured amounts of your ingredients into a bowl. After it has been assembled, another server mixes the ingredients with tongs to blend it all together, and then put it into a bowl or a takeout container for you. The restaurant has plenty of indoor seating, and the shopping center also has outdoor tables just outside of the restaurant. It's a very relaxed atmosphere. The price of a salad is not cheap, but we think the price is worth it to quickly have a fresh, flavorful salad. They offer dine in or takeout service, and they also have a mobile app so you can place your order online and then walk in to pick it up. Every item that is in the restaurant is on the menu. Just click away on everything that you would like on your salad and they will make it exactly as they would if you were there. I love this place. My new 'go-to' for fresh salads. Their greens are really fresh and everything else at their salad bar. Their salad dressing selection is just right. The people working there works well together with great teamwork and seem to be happy working there. When people are happy at their work place, you get good or better service, at least that's what I've noticed. The portions are big and you can get 2 meals from the small bowl of salad. read more

I frequently go to Salata for lunch because it's in the same shopping center as my workplace. Also because they have very heathy and a wide selection of vegetables and fruit for you to make your own salad. Think salad bar meets subway except the employees are much more professional and friendly. Toward the end of the line you can choose your protein (Crab, salmon, chicken or vegan). If you choose a wrap at the beginning, they will portion your salad choices and allow you to select from 6 tortilla flavors. Top it off with a banana pepper and some pita chips or roll and you have. So good. I love that I can customize my own personal salad for the same price. As many toppings as I want from a large variety of veggies, fruits and non-animal based proteins plus eggs and cheese. I'm really trying hard not to judge this place by the people who come here but I had to deduct a star simply because of the horrible vibes and the TINY amount I chicken I got in my salad. SO, I am a sweet girl right? Why is it that going to even just a damn salad bar in this area makes me feel so uncomfortable. No one smiles back at me if my tattoos are showing or if I look a lil rough because I just had a kick-ass workout. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! I eat at this location on Sonterra at LEAST 3 times per week! Today as I was ordering my food, wearing my mask I may add. I am a man with facial hair and when I talk the mask moves. I have to talk to tell them what I want. I moved the mask up several times only to be told by a young girl working there to pull my mask up. Which I did WITHOUT a comment to her. I then was finished ordering and waiting behind 3 people to pay for my order and my phone rang which I answered to let them know I would call them back as I was ordering my lunch. I was then told AGAIN by another employee to pull my mask up which it was but slipped slightly as I was talking. I said to him I apologized but due to facial hair the masks slips, he had the gall to then tell me I shouldn't be on my phone!!! Wasn't even nice about it am AT ALL! I guess their so busy they don't care how they treat people! To make matters WORSE a gentleman who spoke to went through the entire line WITHOUT a mask at all and NO ONE SAID A WORD TO HIM!! Great Salata location! I walked into this Salata location as soon as it opened & to my surprise it was already bumpin with people picking up their customizable salad. The lady at the front of the line where you choose your lettuce combo was filling out a large to-go order, but still helped me out & was very courteous. I really appreciated the customer service from the first lady at the beginning of my salad prep all the way to end of my salad mixing/boxing. As far as the taste, since the salad is customizable you can choose a ton of different flavor combinations based on your own preferences. The price is also not bad if you compare it to other fast food places you may typically frequent, especially during the lunch rush hour. I couldn't have asked for a better Salata experience or a better salad at this location! I highly recommend to all other salad lovers out there. I had been dying to visit a salad bar, so I was excited when I stumbled upon this. The location for this restaurant is in a cute market plaza with tons of restaurants and other stores. The restaurant itself is pretty cool, and the options are endless! I was so overwhelmed that I pretty much added everything into my salad. Also make sure you try the smoke turkey! It was sooo good!!! The only thing though is that it can get pricey, once you start adding protein and drinks to it. Since I was bored and wanted something different for lunch, I asked my wife where she would like to order from. She suggested Salata, as we hadn't been there in awhile. We went to their website, and since we were out of their delivery area, selected "Pick Up" and began building our salads. Yes, they have standard salads you can chose from, but why do that when you can build your own with their wide choice of toppings. I love the fact that everything is fresh and wholesome. While I am not a vegan or vegetarian this is a great restaurant for those that are. The base salad mix (about 4 different types of greens) the various veggies and yes, proteins (a.k.a meat or seafood) that you can put on your salad is a wide variety. When I arrived to pick up my order, they had a mobile shelf up front with the orders waiting to go. You just find your order, wave to the people behind the counter and head home or to the office. Salata is a great alternative to the burger joints (don't get me wrong, I do love me some burgers) and other places in town. Very clean atmosphere from the time you walk in. The ladies were very nice and explained how it worked. They even had labels of each ingredient. There is no limit on what you want on your salad. Took my senior mother post-spa venture here for healthy lunch on her day off, my treat. She was a first timer, which I mentioned to the girl on bases - she was pleasant enough but didn't even explain concept to my mom or anything, leaving that to me. I myself had only been 3 times prior and had went ahead to see what proteins were on menu. The girl on carrots & cukes/etc was horribly rude to my mother, making the NEXT girl in line seemingly irritated at having to do that girl plus her own station for us. That could have been completely avoided had the carrot girl LISTENED - my mom didn't say she wanted cucumbers but was asking a question ABOUT them, and instead they got put all over her salad and then an eye roll, sigh and total shut down when my mom asked her if she could please pick them off, since she hadn't listened. The older lady on fruit and dressings, as well as the guy on proteins were both above and beyond helpful/patient - dressings lady knew the line was filling behind us and wasn't pushy but did anticipate the overwhelm of options for dressing and promptly handed us a sample of the house vinaigrette as a suggestion, and I though what a very professional and sweet way to keep the line moving. Proteins guy had seen that I'd had to ignore that my bowl was on his station because I was explaining the concept and etc to my mom, and when I apologized to him (yes, me the customer, feeling need to apologize, assuming he'd be as rude as the middle two gals on carrots/etc), he was super reassuring: "Oh no worries I saw you were assisting there so you're totally fine." I REALLY appreciated that, as I suffer PTSD and having had come from the spa where I was all relaxed and whatever, the rude girl and my moms lack of how everything worked basically shot my stress right back up with the line stacking behind us. The nuts and breads girls were polite enough, but still clipped and short, and the cashier didn't even seem to notice my mom and I were together, never even asked her if she wanted a drink when I forgot to ask my mom; just took my money and then my mom asked for a water cup, post payment. As we needed to eat, and that we arrived with two people behind us but saw it had stacked up to like 15 by the time we got our waters, I decided I'd wait for a slow moment to try and address why I'm paying $25 for two salads and waters in a part of town like Stone Oak, receiving service so poor. After the meal, I approached the girl who's shirt happened to say Team Lead (Ana, I think?) to begin to ask her something but the look on her face and the "What?" (Vs, for example, "How was everything?" or "What can I do for you?"....seriously?) was all I needed to just ask for a business card instead, to call later. She didn't even know and had to ask one of her subordinates whether or not Salata had business cards. Mind you, I didn't tell her it was for dissatisfactory service; if could have been for catering a huge party, but sadly this manager didn't even take initiative to ask if she could like, write the number down on receipt paper or anything for me. Just nothing. Personally I don't plan to return here, if there is another location elsewhere I might check it out, but with attitudes like that I have no problem buying a spread of salad stuff and putting it into my own fridge for much cheaper, and avoiding the "We don't care about you we're only and begrudgingly here for a paycheck" attitude. Even my local Subway over on the Converse side of town has better customer service than that. read more
