Took my senior mother post-spa venture here for healthy lunch on her day off, my treat. She was a first timer, which I mentioned to the girl on bases - she was pleasant enough but didn't even explain concept to my mom or anything, leaving that to me. I myself had only been 3 times prior and had went ahead to see what proteins were on menu. The girl on carrots & cukes/etc was horribly rude to my mother, making the NEXT girl in line seemingly irritated at having to do that girl plus her own station for us. That could have been completely avoided had the carrot girl LISTENED - my mom didn't say she wanted cucumbers but was asking a question ABOUT them, and instead they got put all over her salad and then an eye roll, sigh and total shut down when my mom asked her if she could please pick them off, since she hadn't listened. The older lady on fruit and dressings, as well as the guy on proteins were both above and beyond helpful/patient - dressings lady knew the line was filling behind us and wasn't pushy but did anticipate the overwhelm of options for dressing and promptly handed us a sample of the house vinaigrette as a suggestion, and I though what a very professional and sweet way to keep the line moving. Proteins guy had seen that I'd had to ignore that my bowl was on his station because I was explaining the concept and etc to my mom, and when I apologized to him (yes, me the customer, feeling need to apologize, assuming he'd be as rude as the middle two gals on carrots/etc), he was super reassuring: "Oh no worries I saw you were assisting there so you're totally fine." I REALLY appreciated that, as I suffer PTSD and having had come from the spa where I was all relaxed and whatever, the rude girl and my moms lack of how everything worked basically shot my stress right back up with the line stacking behind us. The nuts and breads girls were polite enough, but still clipped and short, and the cashier didn't even seem to notice my mom and I were together, never even asked her if she wanted a drink when I forgot to ask my mom; just took my money and then my mom asked for a water cup, post payment. As we needed to eat, and that we arrived with two people behind us but saw it had stacked up to like 15 by the time we got our waters, I decided I'd wait for a slow moment to try and address why I'm paying $25 for two salads and waters in a part of town like Stone Oak, receiving service so poor. After the meal, I approached the girl who's shirt happened to say Team Lead (Ana, I think?) to begin to ask her something but the look on her face and the "What?" (Vs, for example, "How was everything?" or "What can I do for you?"....seriously?) was all I needed to just ask for a business card instead, to call later. She didn't even know and had to ask one of her subordinates whether or not Salata had business cards. Mind you, I didn't tell her it was for dissatisfactory service; if could have been for catering a huge party, but sadly this manager didn't even take initiative to ask if she could like, write the number down on receipt paper or anything for me. Just nothing. Personally I don't plan to return here, if there is another location elsewhere I might check it out, but with attitudes like that I have no problem buying a spread of salad stuff and putting it into my own fridge for much cheaper, and avoiding the "We don't care about you we're only and begrudgingly here for a paycheck" attitude. Even my local Subway over on the Converse side of town has better customer service than that. read more

This place is fantastic! The salads are fresh and there are tons of toppings to choose from. They took away the raw jalapeños that were my favorite but they still have the pickled ones. The place is clean and bright. They don't have fountain sodas instead have a selection of teas and lemonades. The teas and lemonade aren't my favorite but the salads are delicious. Protein add ons are extra and have several to choose from. Turkey, chicken, seafood etc. You can't go wrong with stopping here. read more

I am obsessed with this salad bar! It is so fresh and clean. I can customize my salad with basically anything I want and it doesn't cost any more unless I add a protein. I also love that they don't offer soda. Only tea, lemonade and water! I crave their buttermilk ranch dressing. I realize that I could probably make my own salad at home for less money however it is totally worth it to have someone prepare it for me not to mention, I can try a different salad combo every day. Just pick your salad bowl size or opt for a wrap and walk down the line to tell the server what you'd like thrown in, choose your dressing (tons of options - feel free to sample!), choose your protein (seafood mix, crab, oven-roasted turkey, tofu, chipotle chicken, etc), throw in nuts, seeds or avocado, and, for salads, pick which side of bread you'd like. You can also order a side of soup for an additional charge. Some Toppings: Corn, broccoli, beets, bean sprouts, tomatoes, red onions, jicama, bel peppers, cucumbers, snap peas, celery, carrots, grapes, strawberries, mandarin oranges, pineapple, chopped egg, etc. Pricey but worth it, absolutely delicious, and always very filling. It was my first time here so wasnt really sure what to expect. Wish the employees would've been a little more enthusiastic. Had to come get my salad fix however today wasn't the best day. I asked for bacon bits and it ended up tasting like lil rocks in my salad. The Salata mix, spinach, toppings, and protein were fresh. Yes, please. It's a good place to go on a diet or if you just want some good ole' salad layered in cheese and dressing. As it is a Chipotle style restaurant, you can pick as much or as little as you want. It's busy during lunch and dinner, but because it's fast service, it's still lunch hour doable. I LOVE Salata. We have visited the Huebner Oaks location frequently. We recently moved in the Stone Oak area so this is our new go to. I have been here about 4 times since we have moved and each time has been worse then the last. I kinda chalked it up to bad days .. the last time was the final straw. The previous three times my salad was not made right . There really isn't much I DONT like on my salad .. I love fruits and veggies on my salad :) the portions are dismal here and the last time I got my order my salad smelled rancid . Idk if it was the dressing or what . I thought maybe it was me .. but later that night I made a mention of it and my husband said his was too he just didn't want to complain because that's just how he is. First let me say when I walked in the store the two teenage looking girls looked like they couldn't be bothered to make my order . I ordered when I was maybe 5 min away so I got there quickly they hadn't even started my order . They said it was no big deal.. let me Also say I have been tipping every time I order but I thought I would wait till I get there since when I tip online my Salad are so crappy . Maybe it was because I didn't tip (I planned on it but after the poor service and unappetizing salads while inspecting my bag I decided not to). When I called one of the young girls claimed to be a manager and was rather annoyed I complained . There was only one other couple in the dining room when we got there . A manager emailed the next day and I didn't get a sense he cared about my dissatisfaction. He made a comment about me not ordering as frequently as I stated on my complaint ... well most of the time I check out as a guest opting not to sign up for yet another marketing scheme these places do to bombard with emails ect . I would be happy to go through my bank statements to show how often we've dined at a salada in the last several Months just to prove my point . I work 15 hours a day since covid started so Salada has been my way of trying to eat healthy .. It's just a shame that I didn't get a sense of remorse or willingness to remake the salads willingly and even apologize for previous experience . My fiancé and I come to this location a lot, since we are also obsessed with the coffee next door at Local. Salata is great because I can stuff my face with veggies for a meal and not regret eating something else later, since it's a hard find to get some decent veggies in San Antonio. The veggies are fresh and good quality here (you don't have to settle for nasty iceberg lettuce here) and there is a lot of variety for toppings, lettuce (spring mix, spinach, kale), and dressings. I love putting fruit and nuts in my salad and they have several types here that you can toss in your salad for no extra charge. I'm also a big fan of feta cheese and they have that here too. I like putting a mixture of ginger lime and mango dressing in my salad. The croutons here are the best I've had and are a must have for me in my salad. I tried the seasonal goat cheese they had today and it was fantastic! Unfortunately it was $1 extra even though previously it had been free when my fiancé got it the previous week. For $7 a small veggie salad is enough to fill me up for lunch and worth the money. Another plus here is you can get the dressing on the side in containers if you want to save some for later or take the salad to go and prevent it from getting soggy. The to-go containers here are pretty good quality too. The not so great: They took away the pesto garlic bread and other bread and replaced it with wheat bread and asiago bread. Both are pretty plain and tasteless and not to my liking. They don't warm up in the toaster as well either. The soup is subpar here. I've had the broccoli cheddar and the tomato basil. Neither were that great and you can get better soup elsewhere. I think I heard it's pre made anyhow and they just add in the cream. Adding protein is expensive and the chicken isn't that great. I wish they used more of a rotisserie type of chicken rather than the cube type. The chicken is not that juicy here. I've had the chipotle chicken, pesto, and regular chicken and they all kind of have this same smoked flavor. The workers in the line can be kind of chaotic sometimes. They get confused easily with orders and I come here often so I know. Often they have trouble keeping who has what bread straight. A couple of the ladies act like there is a lot of urgency as you go through the line, so I've seen them make me and a couple customers feel rushed. Overall, this is still my favorite place to go for a veggie/fruit salad in San Antonio and I'll be back over and over when I'm craving something light and healthy, but there is definitely room for improvement. read more

I'm not even some big time salad eater, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't eat this place three times in a row. Lol The salad bar variety is excellent. Salata is great! I've been a regular here every since they opened, and I come back with my mom whenever I'm home in Stone Oak. First thing worth noting is that this location is really, really prime. Located right across from a hospital amongst a plethora of private practices, this place is booming from 11:45 to 1:00 on weekdays. Personally, I avoid it like the plague during this time of day, simply because I really dislike crowds. I will say, having had to endure the salata-craving masses, that the employees do a good job being friendly, moving people through the salad line, and turning over tables (making it as pleasant as a crowded restaurant can be) Second notable thing about this place is parking. There are several spots out front reserved for Nothing Bundt Cakes that are never taken, which is frustrating when there are no other open spots in the lot. This is the other detriment to coming during lunch hour- it takes longer to find parking than it does to eat your lunch. And don't rely too much on Texas hospitality, make sure your offensive game is strong as you embark on the parking journey. (This problem can be easily avoided by coming after 1:00 OR just biting the bullet and parking behind Moon Mippy) "But you gave them four stars...?" Of course I did! This place is great! Ate here today for the very first time with my husband. WOW! Great assortment of lettuces , toppings and dressings. You let the servers know what type of lettuce and toppings you want in each section. They have almost every type of topping you can think of. You pay $4.00 more for protein. Which is an assortment of different types of grilled chicken, turkey and seafood. I am probably missing more stuff. They Do not carry soda's -only different types of tea. You can order either a regular salad bowl or a small. The small is huge and can actually feed two. It comes with bread. Extra things would be soup - tomato basil, cream of broccoli and a tortilla and bean type of soup. A must try. I am still soooo full and it has been 6 hours since I ate. I will go back and recommend. I wish I could rate the staff and the food separately. My experience with the staff was not positive. I placed my order online ahead of time for a pickup at 6:45 PM. I arrived at 6:45 PM to learn that they had not even started working the order. In fact I watched as they were surprised to see me, walked over to the receipt machine, and took my order off the machine. Obviously no one had looked at it. When I walked in one of the employees was talking to two of his friends. The other two employees weren't making anything. It's obvious they just missed the fact that my order had been sitting there. The food, however, was good. The ingredients were fresh. My wife and I enjoyed the salad and the wrap. The website was also very easy to use. I came in here simply looking for a light yet filling lunch. Salata did just that. They have a wide selection of salad ingredients to choose from. Everything from your choice of greens to your choices of meat. I was impressed they offered, not only salmon as a seafood option, but shrimp as well. The line can be quite long around lunch hour, but the staff is very attentive and the wait is not as long as one would expect. I love this place. It's not your typical salad bar. Your salad is assembled by gloved workers with a gigantic plastic sneeze guard between the patrons and your food. You can get gluten free and it truly is. So fresh. So good. I'd eat there daily if I could! Tips: 1. Protein is at the end. Take a look online and pick the protein before you go. Then assemble your salad accordingly so it will taste good with your selection. 2. Kale is awful. Doesn't matter how good the salad bar is. 3. Do NOT drink the cinnamon plum tea. I normally would give Salata 5 stars for being a quick, easy, healthy and affordable lunch option while I work. I feel in love with Salata in Houston - both locations downtown as well as the City Centre locations. Los Angeles location. However, this place has disappointed me way too many times. First, they never seem to chop their vegetables to bite size - not even close, and their lettuce is the worst! The spinach is huge instead of baby spinach and the romaine is a lot of huge leafy pieces instead of romaine hearts. Second, if you order online not only will they likely mess something up (at least 4 of my last 6 salads have been wrong, typically missing an ingredient or two), you will be treated like a second class citizen when you come to pick it up. So I would recommend going in and watching them make it to your preferences. Third, parking can be a nightmare and this is the most efficiently moving crew - so leave extra time when you do go in. During lunch, the line is loooong. Fourth, their fruit toppings...so I am a fruity salad fan, but I am apprehensive at this salata and this Salata only because occasionally they run out of fresh fruit and use some kind of substitute - not sure if it is thawed frozen or packaged in some other way. NOT A FAN. The website doesn't indicate this, so again try to avoid the order online option. Lastly, I go here at least twice a week for lunch for the last three months and my office orders from here once a week. The girl who runs to pick up the lunches for the team was treated EXTREMELY rudely when she went to pick up our order today as apparently it is an inconvenience for them in some way to have her pick up a 8 or so salads from online orders. All which have her indicated for pick up. This attitude is still very perplexing for me. It is still a healthy, inconsistent, rude, affordable option so unless I have another - which luckily I do a few times a week - I still eat here. read more

This place is great as far as healthy options go! It's like a subway but wrap/salad style. Normally I go with the wrap and it's pretty filling. The only reason for the 1 star deduction is customer service. Yes, they're nice. Yes, nothing really gets royally messed up. BUT- I feel like most of the time I come here half of the staff seems somewhat inconvenienced to be behind the bar serving you. Also, the last time I went, the kid at the register was talking it up with some other kids he seemed to know from school. Which is cool- whatever, make work fun! I'm all for that. However, all the employees (including himself) and customers could see the line staking up at the beginning of the bar where only one other employee was working. You could see everyone getting irritated that they were just chatting it up at the register when he could have easily been helping his co-worker move things along a bit faster. I am very VERY frustrated with this restaurant....my friend and I casually decided to go get a salad yesterday before a really big tennis tournament that we have to play this weekend. So blah blah we got done eating get back to her house then later she goes to bed and I leave and she couldn't go to sleep and she started to get a stomach ache randomly she kept waking up and then started throwing up a lot and now she can't even get out of bed today because her stomach hurts so bad from her salad. Yes, I'm a fan but I have to limit my visits because of the price. The price of a large bowl is $8 and the small bowl is $7. Okay, fair enough. You might as well go for the large bowl. Where they get you are the add-ons when you get to the "protein" (meat) and avocado. I can understand the added price for the avocado ($1 I believe) but it's the meat price that I have the problems with - at least the amount of the added charge. For the smoked turkey, where you simply get a scoop of it, the cost is $4 which is insane. I believe the chicken is something like $3 extra. For those who have not been here THEY control the portions. This is not a buffet type setting. It is a cafeteria like setting. So for a large salad bowl with "protein" and a drink the cost comes to $14-$15. The service is okay but not great. I've been to 2 locations and the employees serve you as if they're robots (not friendly - just very stoic). I really don't mind this but it sort of reminds me of Seinfeld's "Soup Nazi" episode. Be prepared to know the routine when you go or you might feel intimidated. By the way, Salata is a Romanian word for salad. read more

Came here with a friend; he planned to get food to go so I could go somewhere else, but after looking at the salad bar I decided to give it a shot, and I'm glad I did. Everything is super fresh, reasonably priced, and the staff were incredibly friendly. I went with a southwestern-themed wrap, including the chipotle chicken, and loved every bite of it.
