Emailed for a quote about getting some scratches/scuff marks repaired on my car. Received one initial response asking for the pictures and VIN number of my car shortly after I submitted the request on their website. After replying with the pictures, VIN, and also letting them know that I could come in person if needed. Two days passed, still no response so I sent a follow up email asking if anything else was needed/if the pictures sent alright. It has now been a week and I still have not heard back. What was supposed to just be a simple paint patch job has now set me back a week. Do not recommend if you want quality customer service in a timely manner. read more

after getting rear-ended in June. Took my truck to salem auto body as a preferred auto body shop for State Farm. what a big mistake this was.... I dropped my truck off on Monday Friday afternoon at 4:40 when I got a phone call saying my truck was done I went in, just defined that they dropped my tailgate which was perfectly fine onto my bumper and now I had two dents in my tailgate that they didn't wanna tell me about that first, then from there got worse as you can see the measurements on the bumper was not even correct, I had overspray and a couple different places on the bed of my truck and the right rear door. my fuel cap was removed from the truck and two dents were put into the bed of the truck. Then they attempted to do a detailing job and left squirrel marks all in the bed of my truck. I drop my truck off after the weekend so they could fix my tailgate and I left my keys and said let me know when you're done with my truck after pointing out all of the issues six weeks later I get another phone call saying my truck is done I go back in and my tailgate still had issues were they sprayed over fiber and had to spray it.... They called me a week later saying your truck is done I went in knowing I would still have issues pointing out some of the issues that were still there in place and I left with my truck just because I didn't want them to touch it anymore... please be very aware when you go here you'll get shotty service... if I could rate this place as zero instead of one star I would do that. read more

They don't seem to care about the customers personal property. They removed stuff from my cab that didn't need to be removed and threw it in the bed to collect dirt and get sun bleached. The woman answering the phones is unpleasant and short with customers. The place looks like a junk yard. Communication about my repair was lacking. My repair was done to my standard, but it took 3 months. I don't think this was their fault, though. Supply issues. If I didn't point out a color mismatch they would have given it back to be the wrong color, though. They damaged the paint and had to repair it. Price seemed average, but at times I felt like they were looking for more damage to increase profits for themselves. It was an insurance job. I can't back this up with evidence, but they were adding on repairs that wouldn't have been caused by this particular accident. Seemed shady. I give 2 stars because I wouldn't ever return to or recommend this shop. I reserve 3 and up for places I would consider returning to. This place left a really bad taste in my mouth. read more

The owner told me," I will take parts off your car and charge you for storage. " when I called to see what's going on. Parts were taken off my car, not replaced. 4 wheel covers were not on my car. Fantastic Service and repairs! Very professional staff, especially considering some of the customers they were dealing with while I was there. Happy with how they handled my repair and I sure do feel for them in dealing with some of their customers though. I thought it was rough working in restaurants but people just show up mad and blame the shop when all they are trying to do is fix everyone else's mistakes and accidents. Be nice to your local shops, guys, a lot of you don't even know what these guys have to go through to get your car repaired...the alternative is YOU get to pay out of pocket and deal with your insurance company on your own because these guys take all that off your plate for you and deal with those greedy insurance companies on your behalf. They do pretty damn good considering the pile of crap that folks bring them to fix like new! read more

These guys need some reviews. So we're adding ours. We went to them a few years back with my parents' car, which had "bumped" into some rocks near our cabin and scratched the fender area. In addition, part of the fender became lose and floppy (for lack of a better description). A Subaru dealer out of state wanted $2500 plus to repair. A local shop wanted $1500 to repair, if we didn't repaint all the scratches under the bumper area (caused by my elderly parents' diminishing driving skills). I took it to Salem Autobody on the reference of a mechanic I trusted. I told them them we could live with the scratches underneath, and what we most wanted was a fender that was attached well They asked me if I would leave it with authorization for them to spend up to $100 to get it attached right. I said sure. When i came back, they had it attached like new. The bill was under $10. Really: UNDER $10. When's the last time you heard of something like that? We've gone to them several times since. We've had paint work done and they are REALLY GOOD. They are honest and won't oversell you. We've worked with Matt. He's great. And the owner is the guy who gave us the bargain price to the fix to my parents' car. So our experience with everyone we've dealt with is five stars all around. We've dealt with other body shops in Salem (we've lived here for nearly 40 years). None of those others even comes close. read more

The worst body shop I've ever dealt with. They scam you and put on knock off parts. Go in there and see for yourself, they are incompetent and incapable of even calling a customer to update them on there car. My car was there two weeks longer then they promised me. Work was at best a three, the gaps on the body lines are way off, the bumper sags more then before. Trust me when I say, 'do not go to this shop, you will be duped and treated like you mean nothing!' I'll park my car and stop driving before I come back to this place. The alleged manager Robin is the worst of the group. They need to put that old hag out to pasture. Salem auto body works did a great work on my repair. I had inquired for the repair in nearby shops but they were too costly to afford and were focused on fetching money through insurance. Specially want to thank Jeff who looked at my damage and instantly told the work and estimates. He didn't require a computer program to find a quote for the repair. I was told 3-4 days but just on 2nd day I was informed about the work completion. They did a great job and really get highly recommended. read more
