We wanted a good place for a good price in Salem. The Salem Inn checked all the boxes. We arrived late, around 9pm. The woman at the front desk was friendly and helpful. She showed us how to use the dumb waiter for our luggage. Thank goodness because the inn is historic design and the stairs are a bit steep. We were lucky enough to utilize free street parking directly in front of the inn. Our room, #17 was spacious and welcoming. I liked the size of the room with all of our luggage. The kitchenette was simplistic but had a mini fridge, coffee maker, and a fresh pitcher of water. The bathroom was good size and has everything needed. Breakfast was included, which was an awesome bonus. Our server was genuinely nice and so helpful. I wish I could remember his name! He gave us so many recommendations and we had great conversation. The Salem Inn has become our home away from home. Absolutely the BEST place to stay in Salem. Each room is different and so beautiful. the staff are wonderful, and the daily breakfast is incredible! Their witch's brew coffee is SO delicious! Coming here really feels like coming home. The Salem Inn is in the middle of all the action, you'll park your car once and not need it again until you leave. The beds are so comfortable, even the trundle beds! We stayed somewhere else the first time we came to Salem because we didn't know any better, but never again! The Inn feels homey, personal, comfortable, and is our happy place, our little slice of peace. The historic buildings seem to be well kept and was super beautiful to stay in. if you're expecting something newer and more high-tech amenities look elsewhere this is not the place for you. If you're looking for something quaint, historic and centrally located this is for you. The staff was super helpful in general, but I just want to say that the breakfast staff is stood out as it was very impressive to see them work the way they did. The breakfast itself was very tasty, including the omelettes and waffles. The place is also wonderfully Located in the center of quite a few things that you're definitely gonna wanna do while you're here. Parking was also a breeze since they have their own private lot. We had a very comfortable stay at the Salem Inn. We try to stay in Bed and Breakfasts when we travel so naturally gravitated toward the Salem Inn. It was so close to the main square so we could easily walk everywhere we needed to be. We stayed in West House, you should note that they have three different buildings that are a part of the Salem Inn. There is a parking lot to park your car so they give you a free parking pass for your stay. It's a few blocks from the inn so expect to walk to your car id you need to use it at any point during your stay. They have a small driveway for loading and unloading your belongings. Since the inn was so close to downtown, we never needed to access the car for the few nights we stayed. Breakfast was great and they had a limited menu to choose from, but we loved that it was included with our stay. read more

We stayed in the West House, built in 1830-something. Understand a house built almost two-hundred years ago is not going to be like your McMansion. There are stairs. The stairs are steep. You are going to get your cardio in. If you have mobility issues, this isn't going to work for you. However, if you love truly old houses, that have not been Disney-fied, you'll love this place. The hotel is super-duper close to the festivities at Halloween, on Essex Street. Again, if being near that hustle and bustle is not for you, then this won't work for you. Since the hotel does have a reputation for being haunted, there were tour groups who would stop outside and be told stories about the ghosts inside. As for the ghosts, if that's what you're into, I can say that at four in the morning, I was awoken by a cat meowing next to my pillow. There is a cat ghost reportedly in the hotel and apparently it still wakes humans up to get breakfast, just like living cats do. read more

Comfortable stay in a convenient location. The Salem Inn has two levels of security with the front door and your personal room door, so guests feel secure in their stay. The rooms were clean and had complementary eco-friendly bottles of water (1 for each guest). The shower had good water pressure. Check-in and check-out was contactless and easy. The greatest thing this inn has going for it is location. It's steps away from the shopping and tourist attractions. Our room was comfortable enough. I had my doubts because the mattress swayed in the middle. The staff were friendly and helpful though the cleaning staff missed the bathroom a few times. Breakfast is included and a decent meal adds to the value. Staff there were also friendly. All in all, this could be a premier property with some updated furnishings and wall art. We recently stayed at the Curwen house for an early fall season getaway. I highly recommend the Salem Inn. The Curwen house was tidy and clean and the antiques in the house were a nice touch. Book the deluxe suite if you can, the whirlpool tub was amazing after a long day of walking. Before leaving, I called to ask about the parking situation and the lady who answered assured me that there would be parking on-site but she didn't recommend having a car. She was right, we forwent the car and were able to visit everything we wanted in and around Salem. The Curwen house is across the street from the Robes mansion and the witch house. Everything else is a short walk away! (Also Salem during the fall season gets crazy busy, with parking almost unavailable). The only reason I knocked off a star is because the complimentary breakfast wasn't great. The choices looked appetizing but the one time we ate there, our omelets were undercooked and under seasoned. But luckily, there's lots of other places to eat in town. All in all, a great place in a great, if crowded, town. We will be back (maybe to try the haunted room at the Captain West house)! read more

They are Scammers - Don't stay at the Salem Inn Hotel. I'm writing this for the sole purpose of trying to save others from the horrific experience that I had at The Salem In Hotel and in dealing with their front desk and their Manager. These people are scammers. I'm traveling with my young daughter. We got there early and left our bags until checkin. When the text came in to say that our room was ready, we returned to check in and looked forward to relaxing after hours of walking. We were given a room on the 2nd floor with frontage to the Main Street. We were NEVER Once Told that we would NOT have any Air Conditioner OR that the central Heater in the Building was on and that she was trying to have it turned off. Only when we got to the room and tried to Turn On the AC did we notice it Wasn't Working. I noticed a wall unit and began looking for the Remote Control, but couldn't find it so I went down to the lobby to ask how to Turn On the AC, and Only Then did the front desk girl decided to share with me that I will NOT have AC and that the Central Heater was ON and that she was calling the owner to try to get it turned Off. I asked her if she expected that we would have AC tonight once the repairs were finished and she the made it even more Clear that NO AC WILL BE PROVIDED AT ALL. That's when it all began. When The Front desk girl told me that "there will be NO AC provided and that she was trying to call the owner to get the HEATER in the Building turned off." She then told me to "OPEN THE WINDOWS to get Air in my room. I was trying to be reasonable, so I went upstairs and Opened all of the Windows in the room and bathroom. I waiting for a long while to see if the outside temperature would cool the room as I pondered how my daughter and I would bathe with an open window that had full view and Clear Visibility to a Primary Street where foot traffic and vehicular traffic are nonstop. Or how we could go about changing our clothes in a room with open windows and full visibility to the same primary street? Just by Suggesting that we bathe, Change and Shower in a room with the windows open is Irresponsible and a SECURITY Danger! To suggest that we bathe and change is a room on the 2nd floor with open windows and no window covering is to put me and my daughter in potentially DANGEROUS as hazardous situation that could have potentially brought all kinds-of problems to our life, health and well-being, especially with the Human Trafficking happening in our country and the world. Never mind how we would sleep all night in a hot Sticky room with all windows open and nothing to prevent outside Noise from keeping us awake all night. And then it suddenly hit me that AC is a Basic room amenity and that their website mention "in room temperature control provided." I went back down to the front desk and told the girl that the conditions are unacceptable and unsafe. And That I have a young daughter with me and that we cannot be in that room. She then asked that I give her some time to get her Manager on the phone and would think of how she could help us. After a few minutes, She came to the room with the AC Wall Unit REMOTE CONTROL (which she withheld from us at check in) and started trying to turn on the AC wall unit. When the unit started blowing a weak stream of air, she put her hand up against it and said "its cooling." I didn't feel any cool air at all so I pulled up a chair and stood on it to feel the air to see if it was cooling. I told her that it's blowing hot air, Not cool air at all. But she insisted that it was cool, so I closed all the windows and waited to see if the air cooled. It never cooled, So we packed up and left. The front desk girls told me that her manager would call me about a refund. When the manager called me a day later, she told me that technically, they provided an AC Unit and that was enough to keep my money. Basically, the manager said that the AC doesn't need to be working because it's "on the wall" and that they gave me the remote control, and that is good enough of a reason to deny me a refund. Save yourself from the same horrible experience that I've had with this Hotel because they are Scamming people, and they are risking their guests safety and well being by suggesting that they expose their naked bodies to the outside pedestrian traffic. The Salem Inn Hotel Is attempting to get away with provide people with unacceptable and unsanitary conditions and they are stealing your money by refusing to give a refund when you complain. They should be ashamed of themselves. The health department and Police should be notified about what they are doing. read more

Beautiful Inn and such comfortable beds. Loved the whirlpool in my room as well as the glycerin homemade soap and lavender salts for it- beautiful touch. Breakfast was great and loved seeing the basement and how the dining area is- definitely takes you back in time. Hidden gem in the backyard with little 2 seater iron table and chairs, flowers and plants on the old brick cobblestone- it erases all the hustle around the area away. Would have gave a 5 but front desk employee is why I didn't. Already did a review on a Google site and dont want to ergo through it- I will only say when u ask them what they feel customer service is to be and she says " to give you adequate service".. and mind u I paid over a $1000 for a few days - Adequate ? We stayed at the Curwen House for two nights at the beginning of July, 2019. This Inn is not accessible if you have difficulty walking stairs and getting around. There is a charm to the place, I will give it that. You will have to walk a couple of blocks and down a steep set of stairs into the basement of the main building to take advantage of the complimentary continental breakfast (complete with an omelette station), which I might add I enjoyed both mornings. The pillows are old and hard and on our second night there I noticed the mold/mildew on the shower curtain (see photos) and garden tub jets and was horrified. Keep in mind that this is not a "no tell motel", like you see on the tv show Law and Order SVU, but a $275.00 (or whatever it was) per night Inn. I do not recommend this Inn based off of the lack of cleanliness. It was completely unacceptable and if we were not checking out the next morning and it was not 11:00 at night I might have called the main house and asked to move. It was the end of our stay and there really was no point. Lesson learned? Check the shower first thing! read more

This inn has adapted well to the Covid situation. The check in and check out was completely contactless, using text messages to your cell. They still provided breakfast using time slots and preordering food. The room was clean, cute and comfy. The staff we did encounter was friendly and helpful. Jacuzzi tub was awkward shape, but fit 2 people in it. We were able to keep our bearded dragon in the room with us. No maid service every day, but inn does accommodate any needs. Just text them and they will drop off what you need at your door. read more

This was a nice stay. We were only there one night but the building was well kept and the breakfast was simple, made fresh and delicious. Our room was extremely spacious with a sitting couch, mini fridge, and 2 closets. The bathroom had both a nice large ceramic shower and a separate claw foot tub! The Curwen House was adult only which was nice and quiet. They have contactless check in with codes on the doors which was perfect for us. There was an option to opt into the texting communication which we did and it was so efficient and easy! This was a perfect experience for our first stay in Salem with all its history. The only thing I would note is that there are a lot of steps since these are old houses, there are no elevators and not generally good for anyone that has mobility issues. Other than that, it is a perfect place to stay if you want to be right next to all the cute walkable places downtown. We will definitely be back. read more

My deal with Salem Inn was the cancellation policy, was told if I cancel 30 days before arrival date I would be charged $25 since I was checking in on a Sunday through Wednesday stay, but now that I cancel almost 6 months before arrival they are telling me they are charging me a one night stay of $433 because they are counting checking in at 4pm on a Sunday night is considered a weekend stay. We are talking about October in Salem, they will not lose out because you literally can't find a place to stay, they just want to rip people off, so please consider staying somewhere else where the staff doesn't lie. Conveniently located close to downtown, we were able to travel through Salem by foot the whole weekend. We were able to find street parking right in front of the hotel (score!) and the check in was self guided and texted to us prior to our check in to remain contactless. This was super easy and we were able to reserve the complimentary continental breakfast through text as well. This communication was super easy and appreciated to reduce contact. The room was super clean, being a former housekeeping manager I am very critical when it comes to bathroom cleanliness. Not a hair in sight and everything felt fresh. Total win! Did I forgot to mention our room had a whirl pool as well? Even better. The bed was also super comfy, we didn't have any encounters with anything supernatural during the night so I'll count that as a bonus as well. A local told us that the ghost encounters are on the second floor of the main building so try that instead if you're into the spook. The only thing we would have appreciated was a mini fridge and a safe in the room but we were outside most of the time so it was not an issue. We would have also appreciated bottled water because the vending machine did not have any. The hotel is also dog friendly and were very accommodating, there is an additional fee associated with bringing a pet but it was very reasonable. Disappointed is an understatement. - is there an option for a NO STAR review? I had high hopes when I booked a stay for my mom and I at the Salem Inn. After checking in and walking up an insane amount of stairs with our heavy luggage, we entered an uncomfortably HOT room. We saw that there was an AC unit on the wall but we had no clue as to how to turn it on given that we weren't provided a remote. After my mom went down to ask if the unit worked, the receptionist told us that we wouldn't have Air conditioning our entire stay... like what? Im sorry, since when does a hotel charging the prices that they charge NOT provide a simple amenity such as AC? Long story short, the receptionist told us to open the windows what a joke. Maybe we could've worked with that except the NOISE outside would never allow us to get a good nights sleep. Then she came up with the "missing" remote and turned the unit on but it was blowing hot air and she insisted that it was "cooling", lady we are from miami, FL. We KNOW when an AC unit is working or not. So we decided to leave and stay at a hotel in Danvers. We received a call from the manager the day after and she said that she wouldn't give us a refund because technically they provided us with a unit and a remote seriously? They are thieves and liars because their website DOES NOT say anywhere that we wouldn't have AC in our room. I booked this hotel off booking.com. I had to keep looking because for a while it was showing it was booked. Someone must of cancelled because it finally showed a vacancy for when I needed it. We showed up 45 minutes early because we came from Philly and just happened to arrive early and the room was already ready which was great. This hotel consists of 3 buildings/Houses. The West House, The Curwen House and The Peabody House. The West House is the original building and where you must go to check in. That is also where the breakfast is. We were in The Peabody House which was cute. The key they give you is a skeleton key for the front door and then your room key. In the sitting room there is always Cherie available for the adults. Our room was a suite. My parents slept in the bedroom and my daughter and I slept on the pull out couch. There was a kitchenette and a nice size bathroom with a huge shower. The tv had some nice channels. Not full cable but not the basics either. The WiFi just like with most hotels was free. The beds were clean and comfortable and the air conditioner worked marvelously. The rooms are all non smoking which was ok for me. They do provide butt disposal boxes on the porch of the houses so you can smoke on the porch. I think my only complaint is the size of the ants that they have and that they get in the rooms. You could strap a saddle on and ride them. Of all the bugs a hotel could get an ant would be minimal and really not too much of an issue. The housekeepers were wonderful and helpful. Everything was cleaned properly. The hotel is in the center of everything. You really don't have to walk far. The breakfast is in the basement of the West House. It was the best breakfast I've had at a hotel. There are two employees that cook you an omelet in a build your own omelette machine. They have pastries, all types of breads, huge bagels, fruit, quiche, juice, coffee, tea, yogurt and cereal. I'm probably forgetting something. Let's just say that there is something for everyone. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel and I would stay here again. If you're looking for a charming bed and breakfast, this is not it. The front desk staff are hardly welcoming. It's simply a business transaction and sending you on your way. I will say the beds are very comfortable and it's nice having a pin entry instead of keeping a set of keys on you. The breakfast is what you would find at a Super 8 continental breakfast but instead of self-serve, they'll serve you a waffle-ironed waffle or a bagel with cream cheese. The portions are small, so you'll be hungry when you leave. The housekeeping staff is very friendly and should get credit for being so nice. As far as location, it is nice and puts you close to the main strip of shops and right across from the Witch House. I guess in my mind it I thought it was going to be more of a bed and breakfast vibe than simply a hotel. If that's what you're looking for I would go elsewhere in town. read more

A bit dingy. Certainly not $300 a night nice. The room was scorching when we got in because the a/c was not on. They do everything by text which I like, but they don't give you all the information at once. Instead they text you throughout the day with what room you'll be in, then they change the room, then the door code info, then the breakfast info--which btw, you have to reserve on open table and tell them in advance what you want to order. Breakfast options include Raisin Bran and cheerios. Then still later they text you with the front door code after it's locked. The in room coffee is 1 per guest with powdered creamer. The curtains are completely transparent so the don't really block the light out. Parking is free all over Salem, so that wasn't really a bonus. Maybe it would be when the season is busier. Also there are very few outlets so I had to leave my phone on the floor to charge it. The WiFi doesn't work. And the toilet paper is 1 ply. For $300 a night. Overall I wished we had stayed else and I didn't have to be reading and responding to their texts all day during my one day in Salem. I keep editing because it keeps getting worse: only 1 towel per guest, no bath mat so everything is soaking wet, and 2 in 1 shampoo, so no conditioner. I enjoyed our stay at Salem Inn. Check in was fast and easy. Our building was the Curwen House. They have a parking lot behind the building where we were able to leave our car for the entire stay since everything was within walking distance of the hotel. The house is old but maintained and clean. The bed was average, not super comfortable but not the worst I've experienced either. Breakfast was simple and the variety not extremely large but they had what you needed. Mostly fruit and pastries but they did have someone making omelets for anyone that wanted them. This may not be a fancy place but it has what you need and is right in the middle of town which is convenient. read more

My wife and I visited the Salem Inn on a 30th anniversary trip to the area. The Inn was nice, rooms very clean and inviting. We had no issues in finding the hotel, it is right on the main roads in Salem. The Inn is old but that was the point to stay in it there. Enjoyed the old-world charm it provided. We didn't know until we got there, and we didn't ask before hand either, there were no elevators so the three floors up and down were a surprise! Carry light I say! We enjoyed our stay and recommend staying here. The only reason we do not give five stars is because the king-size bed was not comfortable. I booked last minute before a flight from LA. Since I'd be arriving after the office closed, I called ahead and they arranged for a late self check in. It was great, arrived to my first floor room in the Peabody house to find a room that was cool but warmly lit. The bed was comfortable and the room super clean. I love that it's a historical site. The inn's proximity to town made my next day in Salem easily walkable. Front desk always seemed a little busy when I was in there, but they were kind and pleasant. I loved that there was a fireplace in the room and hope that someday I can come back at a time of year that would benefit from its use. read more

The Salem Inn is beautiful, elegant, historical, and most likely haunted. From check in to check out, both times I've stayed have been excellent. It's not really the type of place to bring kids, or for a business trip, but for a romantic getaway or a place to stay with friends who can appreciate the magic of staying in a place with this sort of charm. I've stayed twice now and was extremely happy with my choice. I love cute little bed and breakfasts and this was the epitome of what I like about them. The staff are extremely accommodating, the rooms were clean and lovely, and it is very close to the heart of salem so easily accessible by foot to all of the restaurants and shops in town. They have smaller rooms, but their suites are also gorgeous. The beds are comfy and their are fireplaces in several of the rooms to add extra ambiance, although they don't work in the warmer months. The breakfast in the morning isn't amazing but it is sufficient.. I've found the person who runs to breakfast set up a bit off putting, but maybe she was just having a bad morning. Their is a cute little courtyard where you can eat if you choose to. Breakfast is set up in the basement level of the building next to the main entrance. Not so easy to find but the staff will tell you exactly how to get there. Love this place and will surely stay again in the future because I do love Salem's charm and historical significance, even it if is on the darker side. read more

I'm really surprised by the some of the lower star reviews. We came to Salem in August, and decided to book our stay at the Salem Inn. We stayed at the Peabody house in P3 and we couldn't have been more pleased with our visit. Everything was updated and the building itself was beautiful. The shower was a European shower and after a long day of walking, was just what we needed when we returned back to the hotel at night. The staff were very courteous and kind, and made checking in and out a breeze. They provide complementary breakfast that includes yogurt, omelettes, bagels, breads, delicious pastries, coffee, and more. We were very surprised with how good the breakfast was, and ate there everyday to avoid spending more more money on local cafes. They also have "happy hour" which goes from 4:00-5:00 pm which includes free wine, cheese and crackers! We went one time during our stay, and the cheese was good and the wine. Nothing spectacular but still really cool. They also had complimentary sherry to drink in the resting rooms, so we enjoyed that as well. We have to say, we believe the price was worth it and would stay again in the future! read more

I'm so use to New York and the New York attitude that I was so surprised by how friendly and genuine the staff was. I had called ahead while my husband and I looked for parking. I asked if there was a lot or any street with free parking (we found a lot behind the building and there's a check in lot right next door) The front desk guy sounded so sweet and nice on the phone. I was like "what's the catch?" I'm serious. When I tell you, even after checking in and seeing him in person, I was skeptical. I was waiting for an eye roll, a side comment, an edge to his tone, something. I didn't get it. I'm use to fake politeness, you know, when you're polite because it's your job, because you have to be? That's what I do, so I recognize it when I see it and that's mostly all you get in New York. The lady who made our omelettes was also friendly. She talked and talked and talked. It truly seemed like that was her personality. Not that I don't meet people like that in New York but there it always seems like, most of the time anyway, at any moment it could change. But when we ate at a seafood place our waiter was "saucy" and I thought "oh there it is", but he was French so maybe that was it. Anyway, I'm only giving it 4 stars, and it's not entirely their fault, because we almost stayed at a reportedly haunted room and we didn't know until after. If we were staying more than 1 night I would have requested we stay in that room. We want to return and ask for that room. Maybe this time our experience will be different. read more

The location is amazing! Paired with convenient parking and very clean rooms the inn fills the basic needs of a vacation sleep spot. After that, I was disappointed. The room was huge but the furniture and amenities were cheap and unimpressive. The four poster bed was pretty, but paired with plastic flowers on the dresser, Costco coffee, and a plastic body wash dispenser on the shower wall it seemed more like a motel. The room didn't have a table adequate to sit at, so if you like to write, use a laptop, or plan to have takeout or delivery this is not the place. Breakfast was more disappointing then the room. If inns make you think of fresh baked delights, cozy settings, and chef inspired breakfast this is not it. The yogurt is a small Yoplait container and the cheese in the omelette was only half melted. The free breakfast you get at any 3 star hotel chain is comparable if not better. The breakfast location is in the basement, which could have had some interesting charm with the old wrought iron oven/furnace, but, unfortunately, the 1980s worn out tables and chairs were something you would find in a tag sale and not at all in sync with a historic space. We skipped our 2nd complimentary breakfast. Lastly, if you stay at the Curwen House you will be a short walk from the rest of the inn. Although I knew this ahead of time, it felt strange to never encounter a staff member the entire stay. The one time we needed something I texted the staff. They told me they had what I needed in the main inn, but we needed to walk there to get it. The response was similar when I was looking for a walking map of Salem. Only, the main inn had those. Sadly, I wouldn't go back. For $200+ a night we all deserve better attention to detail and service. Lastly, in case you are hoping, there was not an ounce of paranormal activity. read more

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary getaway here. First impression is that the room was ok. It was a bit dingy and colors were odd. Pink walls Fake black marble trim. The tiny tv was mounted in a spot where you could not watch from the bed. There was a small love seat sofa to watch tv from. The bathroom looked recently updated. Very bright and clean compared to the rest of the room. Where do I start with the bed... after a 4 hour drive thanks to a traffic jam in Boston we were looking forward to crashing on a nice soft comfortable bed. This was not a bed to throw yourself into. I have been on yoga mats that are more comfortable. At first I thought someone may have been confused and put the box spring on top. The saving grace may have come in the form of some nice soft pillows and sheets. Nope... the pillows must have been a package deal when they bought the Fred flintstone mattress. The bedding was thin and didn't smell fresh. I did ask the front desk for a softer pillow and she seemed a bit bothered. The second pillow was better but not much better. Sleeping was rough both nights because of how uncomfortable it all was. The hotel breakfast was ok. I don't think the quality of the breakfast matched the price of the room. The only real positive is how close to all the local attractions \ shopping the inn is. The $300 per night price is too high for what we experienced. Maybe $150-180. Either way if you plan to go bring your own pillow blankets and bring your own mattress if you can. read more

My cousin and I have been planning a trip to New England since January. We were to begin our holidays on September 15, 2017. All the flights, accommodations and tours had been booked for months. Well, I live in SW Florida, and Hurricane Irma had other plans for me. My husband and I were in a zone that had mandatory evacuation orders, and we fled Florida for the Midwest on September 5. We watched the models every day and it was inevitable that our area was going to take a direct hit. On Sept 9, with much reluctance, I had to call it and cancel my vacation with my cousin. I knew I would have to fight my way back to SW Florida and assess damage and try to put our lives back together. My cousin, who was to meet me in Boston from Cincinnati, was understandably disappointed but was mostly concerned for my and my husband's home and safety. She started the process of cancelling all those fun plans on Sept. 9th. 5 out of six hotels and B&Bs were super understanding and kind, but one refused to work with us in any way. That was the Salem Inn. The reservations had been made on February 13 for two nights, and we cancelled six days before our reservation. My cousin was told that if it had been 7 days instead of 6, we would only have paid $15, but since we were at 6 days, they were sticking to their policy. The manager (we didn't get her name, and when we called back to get it, they refused to give it to us) implied that my cousin was using Hurricane Irma as an "excuse", and since my cousin's address wasn't in Florida, we would be required to pay the full deposit amount of $261. I get deposit policies, but surely these were exceptional circumstances. Besides, I'm pretty sure that on a weekend in autumn, that they had no trouble reserving the room for someone else. Even big soulless corporations like Verizon and American Express have offered aid and payment deferments to people affected by Hurricane Irma. I am shocked and disappointed that a locally owned small business would act so heartless. So, on top of all the stress and expense of dealing with gas shortages and traffic getting home to Florida and fixing the damage to my house and yard, I get to pay $261 for part of a vacation I was devastated to miss. Well folks, this vacation will be taking place when I am able to go, and guess where we won't be staying if it was the last hotel in Salem? read more
