Denny's, where the only thing guaranteed is that they are open. Sure, a 24 hour restaurant is great when you're hungry at 2am, but when it is 10am on a Sunday and you have other options, maybe this shouldn't be your first choice. When we arrived there was a sheet of paper that you were supposed to put your name on along with how many people are in your party. We found it peculiar, especially as the list continued to grow thus quickly wasting paper, as the hostess didn't even glance at it as she looked right at us and whispered "for 3?" She led us to a booth and whispered a few more things under the din of other customers as she handed off some menus. We ordered beverages from our waitress. I got water, which comes with a slice of lemon and melting ice (I routinely kept mopping under my glass as it sweat) and a refill that was offered once my plate was clear. My friend went for coffee, which came in a disposable cup as there was a backlog on doing dishes. She was promised a real cup that never got delivered. It enabled her to pour a second cup to go, as she had left the small pot with a handful of creamer and much needed sugar, as the coffee was what she described as awful tasting. Mom wanted Pepsi, but this is a Coke establishment. I had studied the menu online in preparation for coming. Despite having chosen the correct location, the offerings do not match up. I knew I wanted pancakes, and online they offer stacks of double berry banana pancakes without having to get a slam. That is not the case dining in. On the breakfast sides menu, there is a two cake plate, and I asked if I could add berries, which I was denied, despite both the website and the Amherst location allowing me to customize them at an additional cost. It came with a mound of butter on top that I pushed to the side in favor of using a packet of strawberry jam. Wasn't genius, but at that price, I wasn't expecting much. Mom and my friend both went for bigger portions. The omelet looked great, and she even enjoyed the included mushrooms (which given her tastebuds is a welcome surprise) that came with. They both ordered rye as their chosen toast. Mom was given white and my friend was given mostly untoasted bread. Neither complained about their eggs, though neither sang their praises either, because when it comes down to it, you're here for the prices, not the quality or wait time. The to go containers aren't the most stable, and the bathroom has flies and no seat protectors left. They do however have the advantage of the AARP discount, which sadly may be the only reason they'll be back. Me, I think I'll sit next round out. read more

Yikes. Headed home from Artpark, and made the ill-advised decision to stop here, but it was the only place open aside from Wendy's. I've only been to this Denny's a couple times since hanging out all night drinking coffee was cool. I realized there were reasons for that. The food hovered somewhere between mediocre and vile, the hostess/cashier/front person was literally SCREAMING in the open kitchen that was 2 booths down for the duration of our stay. The tables were left dirty after being cleared of dishes, then they kept trying to seat people at them. We saw the manager 2x, and she didn't seem to be doing much. Maybe she was cooking? No idea. The point is that they were very short staffed and were not handling it well. Our waitress was very friendly and patient, despite being SCREAMED at every time she walked into the kitchen. When we got there, there was a line for customers to get sitted even though there were empty booths and tables and plenty of waitresses. When we got sitted, we had to wait for almost an hour to get our food. Our food was overcooked and burned. Be ready for a trip to the bathroom if you decide to stop at this location. We stopped at this location twice and both times the service was horrible. The food was fine, typical Denny's food which is satisfactory to us so no complaints there. Our server both times was Meesun. The first time she took away our menus before we could even finish ordering. She never put in the order for my dad's food and when another server brought the rest of our food out she was the one who caught it. Meesun only came over once after that to drop the check, I'm assuming because she was embarrassed. There was another family that was having issues with service as well and complained to the hostess. Meesun was in ear shot and shoved herself into a corner near the computer for over 30 minutes not checking on any tables and had an attitude the entire time. The second time we dined she had asked for our drink orders before we sat down and when we didn't respond in less than 3 seconds she walked away and didn't come back for over 15 minutes. We flagged down another server and asked if there was anyway she could take care of us instead as we already knew the type of service we would be getting with Meesun. The other waitress politely told us she was at the end of her shift and our server would see us shortly. When Meesun saw we asked for another server she hurried over to us and took our drink order and hurried us to put in a food order as well. Most of our food came out but not my sisters. Meesun said it would be out in a moment. At least 15 minutes had passed and we had still not received the food. We flagged her down and asked what was going on and she went back to grab the plate that had clearly been sitting in the kitchen the entire time and brought it to us. All while this was happening we witness Meesun chase after another family into the parking lot because they did not tip her. She stormed back inside yelling about how they had a $95 bill and didn't tip her. The other waitress at the time backed her up completely and joined in to talk poorly on the other family and anyone who didn't tip her. This complaining continued for the rest of the time we were in the restaurant so about 45 minutes. They were both very loud and the entire restaurant was able to hear them. Anytime we asked for something it would take an unreasonable amount of time to receive it and Meesun would claim she was so busy when we would watch her walk around doing basically nothing other than running to tables the second customers would leave so she could take her tips. Both times we dined in there were very few people in the restaurant. If it was busy I could understand having a hard time keeping up with tables but there were maybe 3-4 tables at any given time and most were single people or couples. We were very patient with her each time but the service was absolutely horrendous. I truly do not understand how she has not been let go yet. read more

While my wife and I were in town visiting family, my mother-in-law suggested that we go to Denny's as she had not had Denny's since moving to NF from Chicago. The experience was hit-or-miss, but mostly miss. When we got there, there was a sign that noted that they were understaffed. I have no issue with that at all; unfortunately that's the time we currently live in. What I had an issue with was the ambiance and food. I didn't smell it at first, but there was this smell of old mop water...and I realized that most likely they were cleaning the seats and tables and not changing the towels they were using. Ugh. So then I am thinking that the food should make up for it. I was disappointed. First, I ordered the cinnamon roll pancakes with eggs, hash browns, and told them I wanted both bacon and sausage. The sausage was cold and the bacon was the wimpiest and saddest looking bacon I have ever seen and to make it worse, one slice of bacon and one sausage link? Come on...for what customers pay, the bacon and sausage should be beyond awesome, but not a chance. Just awful. Let customers know exactly what they are getting. I am not expecting Denny's to be a five-star restaurant, but the experience could definitely be better. The waitress, Meesun (I believe her name was?) was trying and so was an older lady, whom I assumed was the manager. They really tried and I felt for them, so all in all, the service was good, but everything else left a lot to be desired. I've been here a few times, last Saturday being my latest visit for breakfast. This location is older, but still in decent shape. They have tons of seating so you shouldn't have to wait too long during busy time periods. For $4 you can get a Value Slam--two eggs, two pancakes, and two strips or bacon or sausage--nobody can beat that deal! The new fluffy pancakes are delicious. The coffee is great too, with the server asking me if we wanted two "to-go" cups as well. The service is what shines here, they always treat you right! read more

Came here to eat a nice dinner after a 14 hour Train ride, I normally don't judge anyone because I know I have flaws, but our waitress looked high as a kite and speech was slurred forgot what we ordered ran to go get her note pad. The silverware was dirty, she forgot straws it was a mess from the start. Then the food came my son took 2 bites of his chicken fingers and tossed it down I thought he was being dramatic you know teenagers. My Boyfriend didn't like his plate either he said in some areas it was cold, my mother got luke warm coffee and I had to test it because she is something else with coffee if it's not scalding you it's cold to her. So I took a sip of her coffee and she had a right to complain it was like Coffee that been sitting for awhile. My turn I got the easiest thing Pancakes with Bacon, eggs and sausage yup the Pancakes tasted like cardboard the eggs were cold and nasty, bacon was rubber and sausages I wouldn't feed to a dog. Open all night, this is a very nice diner on the way or back from niagara falls US side. We stopped here at 2 in the night, parked outside and sat here for more than a hour. The portions are very huge. Just one milkshake is so filling. I ordered burger with the milkshake and could finish any of them. The burger is so big, I had to leave my milkshake because there's no space left in your stomach after that. Both very filling and tasty. Tried going once, they closed early, so we went back the next day. Food took a very long time, was less than amazing, and was definitely not fresh, some of it was just straight up cold. It also just tasted... wrong. Also there was mold in the chocolate milk given to my 2 year old nephew. read more

We are back in New York for medical reasons. After pre-testing we decided to have breakfast at Denny's haven't been to a Denny's in ages and now I know why. I ordered the Denny's classic which is supposed to be Eggs Benedict with hashbrowns my daughter ordered a French slam with eggs over easy. My hashbrowns tasted freezer burned the hollandaise sauce wasn't hollandaise sauce it was cheddar cheese sauce over two undercooked eggs that weren't poached but fried and the ham was burned and the English muffins weren't toasted! My daughter said her breakfast was OK except look at the bacon on the plate that's not how you serve bacon in a restaurant! Also her eggs were cold and there was water on the plate which means they didn't flip the eggs they put a top over top of them to steam them over easy. We only gave it one star because the waitress was good! When I complained at the checkout the guy said "well we might be shorthanded I don't know "-looks like a bunch of kids looks like running the restaurant- Denny's you should be ashamed of yourself- you're not the Denny's I used to go to when in my youth! read more

A very nice place to enjoy breakfast with friends and family. Firstly, they have parking. Secondly, it is quite spacious and can accommodate a lot of people. The menu is quite large and there is lots to choose from as you would expect at Denny's. We ordered scrambled eggs with hash brown and vege omelette with hash brown, both came with toast and we substituted the meat for pan cakes. As you can see this was lot of food but we were hungry and the food was quite enjoyable. The service was quite fast and good. The food was brought to us in a timely fashion and was warm. All in all this place is easy on the pockets and heavy on the tummy! read more

The incredibly slow and inattentive service, unfortunately, is what I remember most about dining here. Our classic eggs/bacon/pancakes meal was acceptable if not particularly memorable, and at least our stomachs were full when we left. The thing is, it can and should always be more than just a tummy-filling exercise. I wish them well, but I'm not sure if I'll choose to eat here enthusiastically in the future. read more

I have no idea why they had 3 stars. The service from walking in to the restaurant till the end when you walk out was outstanding. The food was very tasteful and great portions. This is the first time I have given a five star to a establishment and they earn it. This will be my favorite breakfast spot whenever I visit Niagara Falls. The waiter took me and my boyfriend order walked away before asking if we wanted scrambled eggs or sausage or bacon, when he brought the food 5min later I asked why didn't u ask if we wanted sausage or bacon or how we wanted the eggs he said oh yeah! And still hash browns was missing and said he forgot that went with the meal that was ordered, I took one bite and my food was cold. Ask to speak to a manager and was told to wait to see if I still have to pay or not..
