I think after COVID many stores started closing earlier making late night munchies a lot harder to find, unless it's fast food. Their shaved ice is BOMB. Fruit toppings can be hit or miss depending on the season, but it makes sense if you're expecting fresh fruits it'll be on the tart side if it's not the season for them. Their crepes are also good! One of my favorite shaved snow place in the 626 area. Wait time always varies due to how busy they are, because there are only two shave snow machine. Delicious cute shop to get dessert! Came here with a friend after work around 6:30pm, free 2 hour parking in their mini lot, and SO many options on their menu. Me being the indecisive person I am, staff kindly gave me time to decide on my order (there was no line when we arrived), which ended up being a small sized Salju shave ice chocolate flavor, topped with chocolate chips and mocha, with chocolate syrup. NGL, we wanted to gatekeep this one because of how amazing the shaved ice is. It's not your typical shaved ice that is 90% ice like Oakobing. There is some but minimal outdoor seating. I got the medium black sesame shaved ice/snow with mochi, boba, and egg pudding and a condense milk drizzle. The portion sizes are larger than expected - the medium size should be enough to share between two. The snow itself was fluffy to spoon but melted into more of a light ice cream texture when you actually go to eat it - interesting but not in a bad way. I've been to Salju twice. Once many years ago and again just a week ago. The weather has been so hot and I was looking for a good shaved snow place to go to. We came to Salju excited for all the different flavors that we could try. I did appreciate how many different type of flavor they had. Seemed like almost 20 different flavors... everything from Pandan, Thai Tea, durian, desmans I got two shaved ice. One Pandan flavor shaved snow with almonds and taro pudding and one guava flavored with no sides. The shaved snow consistency was a bit off and disappointing. I wasn't much a fan of how sticky the snow was. I wasn't sure why but the snow just stuck together and wasn't fluffy as good shaved snow should be. Also the shaved snow just deflated after I put my spoon into the the cup. Not sure what was up with the snow consistency. The Pandan one had decent flavor. The taro pudding didn't have very good consistency either and was a bit lacking flavor. The guava shaved snow wasn't good. It didn't taste like guava. The flavor was really lacking. Overall just very average desserts. Probably won't be back considering there is so many other good options around. read more

My friend and I were craving something sweet. They recommended that we try this dessert place that was in the area. The service here is excellent! The man who helped us was very nice. I decided to go with their "Old-time favorite" crepe. The crepe came with Nutella, vanilla ice cream, and sliced bananas and strawberries. My order did not take long to come out. It was piping hot when I got it, and the lady gave me a plate and utensils with my crepe. I wish they had stronger utensils because my knife and fork were very flimsy when trying to cut through the crepe. I thought the crepe was heavenly. I love how there is only a thin layer of Nutella--not too overpowering. It was spread evenly throughout each layer. I also love how the crepe was on the crispier end too. The strawberries and bananas gave the dessert a pleasant fresh taste. I love how the ice cream melted nicely with each bite of the crispy crepe! I tried a bit of my friend's dessert. They got the shaved ice with passion fruit, popping boba, fruity pebble, and passion fruit syrup. I thought that the ice was very fluffy and delicious. It wasn't too sweet either. The entire dessert tasted similar to ice cream. I loved the crunches of the fruity pebbles and thought that it was a great addition to the dessert. This place was suggested to us when we were eating lunch so we headed on over here for some dessert. I ordered the medium size Matcha Snow ($6.75) with Taro Pudding, Mochi, Red Beans, and Condensed Milk. For a medium size it was a good size for 2 people, especially since I can't have a lot of the snow from the milk in it. The shaved ice was so soft and fluffy, it really does feel like snow. I really liked the taro pudding paired with the matcha snow. The mochi is just like the kind you get from a frozen yogurt place. I feel like next time I would get the rice balls instead. They have a very wide range of different flavors of snow so I'll be sure to try another one next time. Since they are limiting seating, there are only 2 tables available inside, and 1 table outside. If it gets busy, it's going to be pretty hard to get a spot to eat at so either plan to go on off peak hours or plan to take it to go somewhere else. We got really lucky because we came in right before the rush started so we managed to get a table. Another downside is that it's $15 minimum to pay with a card. Luckily I had cash, but even getting 2 medium sizes isn't enough to cover that. Really good place to stop by and get some shaved ice.
