The food is always great, our favorites include the Sally Mac (with the Shishito Pepper app when they're in season), the Steak (seriously the best green beans I've ever had), and any version of the duck in any season never misses. The cocktail menu is always exciting and has something for everyone, and I appreciate their unique wine options as I always like to try something different. We met two friends for dinner at Sally O's this past weekend, and we had a great time. When we ate there (March 2021), they were doing outdoor dining only, so we had a reservation for one of their outside tables. It was a slightly chilly night (they don't have heaters), but it was a lovely outdoor meal (the tables were separated by hanging material but were open air - definitely outdoor!). We made a reservation ahead of time on Opentable, which I recommend since there isn't a lot of seating available right now without outdoor dining only at the restaurant during COVID. The service was fantastic! Our server gave us great advice on drinks (even letting me taste something not on the printed menu)! He was lovely throughout, and he made the experience special! The drinks were amazing. I had glasses of some amazing natural wines (an Austrian orange and a Hungarian dry furmint). I loved that the wine menu was divided into Easy & Familiar, Fun & Exciting, and Serious Business. I think it helps people choose a wine they're more likely to enjoy if they didn't have our amazing server (who I suspect might be the beverage director also?) helping them in person! I was also able to enjoy a glass of a strange, natural vermouth that I enjoyed with dessert that wasn't on the menu, but since the bottle was being opened, I got to enjoy a glass! My husband and our two friends enjoyed cocktails all night. I didn't taste them, but they really enjoyed them - creative and delicious. My husband ordered the crabo-nara (jumbo lump crab, red onion, garlic, bacon, thyme, egg yolk, spaghetti, parmesan, and black pepper), which was SCRUMPTIOUS. I ordered the mole fried chicken & waffles (sous vide leg quarter dredged in spicy flour with sauteed spinach, cornmeal-cheddar-scallion waffle, mole sauce, and braised oyster mushrooms), which I thought was okay, but I probably wouldn't order again. The chicken was fried beautifully and was the highlight of the dish, but the sauteed spinach seemed out of place to me (on top of a crispy waffle, it was kind of tasteless and watery), I didn't taste the mole sauce much at all (I was expecting a sauce with more flavor, and I don't recall mushrooms on the dish at all (if they were there, I didn't notice them). For dessert, I tried the chocolate pudding cup (dark chocolate pudding with salted caramel, graham cracker crumble, and whipped cream) - I was all about that graham cracker crumble in the pudding! It was a good dessert and a good way to end the meal! Overall, it was a wonderful meal. The service was above and beyond, and the drinks were fantastic. Gonna cut to the chase and say that Sally O's makes the BEST impossible burger that I have ever had. I ordered it mostly because I wasn't too fond of the other vegetarian entree, and I honestly was not expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was perfectly seasoned. The portions are also huge, and I personally love having leftovers. It's like meal prepping but without the actual prepping. The truffle fries were also super good and you can actually taste the truffle, unlike the many other "truffle" fries that I've had in the past. I literally spend $30 the following week to have their impossible burger delivered to me. I am unashamed! 10/10 My friends and I got the burrata starter and it was delicious, but you can't go wrong with burrata. I had the brownie sundae with coffee ice cream for dessert and it was also pretty good! They make the ice cream in house. The service was also great! Our waiters were funny and sociable and were also very knowledgeable about the menu. When the waiter was taking our order, I remember him saying "we don't serve underseasoned food here" and he was totally right. TLDR; The waiters are trustworthy. We dined outside and felt it was safely distanced for covid. The menu was a refreshing sight in the Baltimore restaurant scene! They had many American style tapas on the menu for sharing. In fact, we had a hard time choosing just a few! We loved the Mac and cheese, beet salad, and brisket tacos. Entrees also looked delicious, with fresh twists on American favorites. They were just starting when I visited and had a rather limited cocktail selection, but the one we ordered was great! They also had a beer and wine list and I loved the unique wine I ordered! This is my second time having Sally O's for dinner and I will say the food is pretty dang good. My recent trip here our table ordered the wings and the burrata for appetizers and both were delicious. The wings were a little spicy on the back end but I love spice so I didn't mind and the burrata was creamy and served with roasted butternut squash and rosemary bread. SO good. For my entree I ordered the smash burger and oh my goodness it was heaven. We were having too much fun trying all the food so I didn't get any pictures but I highly recommend the smash burger. Made reservations on a weeknight for date night. Was really excited because I am a huge Top Chef fan. Plus the crabonara sounded amazing. Got to the restaurant right at reservation time. We were sat immediately. Our server was named Brian I think . He was hospitable, noted the little things (like my boyfriend needing a steak knife), and made sure we had plenty of water. Hats off for great front of the house experience. He did let us know the crabanara was sold out for the night. Which I was super bummed about. They were also out of bread pudding - since the weekend - which my BF was looking forward to. So we got the wings to start. I got the clammich and he got the ribeye and we split some biscuits. The ribeye was cooked spot on. It was very tasty and didn't even need the steak sauce it was served with. The amount of carrots were a bit ridiculous but were tasty. There were also way too many truffle fries. But the fries for both were great. Well seasoned, hot crispy. The clammich was ok. The clams themselves were seasoned really well, flavorful without being salty but the onions were kinda stringy so it was odd to eat. Also the bread was light toasted - nice touch - but too much bread if that makes sense. The biscuits were LARGE but not good. They weren't hot, they lacked flavor and flakiness that I like with a biscuit. Really bland and in need of a good pinch of salt. They were almost a cakey consistency. We skipped dessert as the portions were large, we were full and they didn't have the bread pudding my boyfriend so wanted. I would go back though to try the crabanara. read more

First, the food was fabulous! Walked in and were greeted by the bartender who sat us down and provided information on seating on the happy hour menu and informed us of the happy hour drink specials. The menu had vegan options which was great. we had the focaccia sandwich in which the bread alone you could eat without the apples and cheese stuffed into the bread. Next up the Burrta with fresh beef tomatoes seasoned well with basil and olive oil along with slices of the focaccia bread slightly toasted. Mm Mm good! Also, the tempura squash was fried perfectly with the right amount of seasoning. My non-veggie friend may have converted to eating more vegetables based on this one dish. Have made it out to Sally O's a few times since my last review. Place is worth the first inconvenience! The smash burger is a must have. The cocktails are fantastic. The ambience is tropical and inviting. They tend to rotate and create new menu items all the time, which I like. But if you don't get the smash burger, right now (Nov 2022) the two things to have that I love are the Lobster Risotto and the Crabanara. Lobster is cubed in chunks over a bed of creamy risotto. The crabanara is as it sounds- a light creamy crab sauce with noods, pan seared bacon and heaping mounds of crab on top. Can't go wrong with this place. read more

The first step that impressed me was the fact that they were so accommodating with moving my reservation around. I know how busy they are and the fact that they did that was the first great gesture. Upon arrival we got seated immediately and were greeted then served water before our waiter came. They have a great variety of cocktails and mock tails to choose from. We started with the Queso-Tacos and Brussels ! Wow ! Wow! I could eat both of those daily lol! I'm obsessed and want one now actually lol . I ordered the crab cabonara which I cleaned the plate ( very rare) lol and my love ordered the duck which he said was the best duck his ever had. Good cocktail selection, good rotating appetizer selection, and great smashburger :) the burrata is always a favorite as well, whichever variety they have on their app menu at the moment. The pizza variety they have right now is delicious. I will say we keep it reasonably priced by splitting an entree and some apps (although we hurt ourselves by always splurging on some drinks lol) but if ordering drinks, an app, and an entree for each person, this place would get quite pricey quite quickly. Open late, it's easy to see why this is a fav in the neighborhood. Drinks: cocktails were really good! I got the murder hornet and it was a great gin based drink that's not too sweet. Decent selection of about 7-8 beers on draft and a decent selection of wines and bottled beers. Food: standard American comfort food. Rich, creamy, heavy and delicious. Unfortunately, it was also too salty. Wings as starters were the best. So so good. We got the specials, which were duck confit and crab cake stuffed porchetta. While I didn't think the seafood and pork belly would go well together, I was surprised that it did a decent job complementing. Would say it's not a dish that I would come back to again bc it was heavy. The duck confit had sweet potato gnocchi in it, which was delicious. With what tastes like a soy base, it was just too salty. Lightening up the salt would have made this dish so much better. Service: great! Found a cute outdoor set up at this local joint. The servers were so friendly and attentive. They were very unbothered with my puppy joining me. The restaurant week menu was diverse and really did have a good display of their menu. All the food I tried was awesome but the best was the peach cobbler with honey ice cream. I loooove love Sally O's!!! They house one of my favorite smash burgers in the city! During the "quarantine" I would order carry out and buss those burgers down in my car with no remorse! The food is always delicious when I go and the staff are friendly, attentive and very personable! Bar is first come first serve and table are for reservation which full up quickly! I gave 4 stars because of parking, Sally O's is in a residential neighborhood so if you go after a certain time then parking is pretty tight so you may have to park a block or so over and walk. Tried this place a few months ago after driving by it a bunch of times and hearing a lot about it. Ordered online; pick-up was quick; food was fresh. My friend and I ordered: -Stuffed honeynut squash: this was a surprising favorite (to be honest, I wasn't expecting it because of the impossible sausage). It was savory, salty, sweet, spiced--a perfect mixture of flavors. -Your New Favorite Wings: these were tasty but just slightly dry (a smidge overfried). The flavors were big and bold though. If you have a low spicy tolerance, this was also a bit too spicy for my friend. -Sweetbread biscuit: I wanted to love this dish and was super excited about it, but was a little disappointed. Perhaps it was my own fault for waiting to eat it, but by the time I got to it (perhaps b/c it had cooled down?), the sweetbread was rubbery instead of the tender, soft texture I usually love of sweetbreads. The biscuit, pickled red onion, deviled egg mix/sauce, and pimento cheese were all perfect. I would try it again in the restaurant to see if it was just a fluke. -Duck breast: this was also slightly overcooked (again, could just be because of the nature of carryout), but it was well-seasoned and satisfied my duck breast craving. Tried Sally O's on Friday night. It was very busy but definitely worth it. Book a table on their website before going because they have 10 outdoor tables but it's very popular already and they had reservations through 9pm. We tried the deviled egg toast with crab which was very good. I have never seen that combo together before but it's delicious. Mac and cheese was also top notch and better than other local restaurant macs I've had in canton. I ordered the half roasted chicken and it's amazing with the peach glaze. He got the smash burger and really liked it but he said that it's not an actual smash burger, it's just 2 patties together. They also don't have a cocktail menu yet but they can make cocktails if you ask. My only complaint was that they were out of some dishes already but it is due to covid issues so that won't be a long term problem. We will definitely go back read more

Not a single complaint. SO cute on the inside and outdoor seating area. Parking was super easy and there were plenty of spots available nearby. Was recommended Sally O's for a celebratory dinner last night and it was a wonderful choice! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere in the restaurant was noticeably homey and the decorations were beautiful and cohesive. This would be a great spot for a photo op, that's for sure. I'm a sucker for a fall menu, and the flavors in my cocktail and in the tempura squash hit that bone in my body perfectly. The Mac and cheese was an ultimate comfort food (and tasted even better dipped in the hot honey sauce). My partner said the carnitas tacos were some of the best tacos he'd ever had! For entrees, I had the autumn tortellini and my partner had the chicken sandwich. We both agree that the fries are incredible!! The sandwich was perfectly done and was a large portion, so made for some nice leftovers the next day. The melody of flavors with the hazelnuts, squash, ricotta, and Brussel sprouts, was quite nice. They were all there on time, but I had a family emergency that caused me to be an hour later.
