Here's a polished version of your review: In San Diego for business, we were tired after a long day of meetings and decided to have dinner at Sally's. Our waiter, Steve, was friendly, engaging, and gave us plenty of time to review the menu without feeling rushed. I ordered the surf and turf, which was very good, while my dining companion enjoyed the deconstructed Cobb salad. The lettuce was exceptionally fresh and crisp, and the salad was well prepared. The flank steak could have used a little more seasoning, but it was still enjoyable overall. We chose to dine outside and enjoyed watching the sailboats on the bay and the steady flow of people strolling by. The waterfront setting made for a relaxing end to a busy day. With its great location, pleasant atmosphere, and good food, Sally's is a solid choice when dining in San Diego.

We came here, an esteemed colleague, my husband and I for lunch/brunch on a Saturday. Service and ambiance were excellent! We ordered a bottle of wine, I think it was the Napa Sauvignon blanc, it was wonderful, good pairing with our meal. We had the octopus as appetizer, I was pleasantly surprised with this dish, not only was delicious but a good portion for three people. Probably one of the best ones that I have tried out there. Me and my husband ordered the seafood platter as our main dish, my colleague ordered the surf and turf, everything was superb. I looked forward to trying other dishes in the menu!

The server was prompt even though he was handling many tables. The views are amazing. During the week, there are no crowds unless there is a convention. My husband ordered the poke bowl. I ordered the crab cakes. The bowl lacked rice but it had plenty of tuna. The crab cake was disappointing. It was not lump crab. It was low grade crab meal. It was also salty and my husband said it was the alioli. The view is what sells this place. Please note there is also a mandatory surcharge added to the bill.

Their seafood is tasty. I've ordered their craft cakes and in the past have ordered their clam chowder. I just wish they tell the customers about the surcharge prior to receiving the bill. Tbh, the customers shouldn't have to suffer paying a surcharge when the food already is at its prime due to its location. Just saying...

Great food! Excellent view! You can't beat eating by the waterfront. I like to sit in the patio which is closer to the water. Keep in mind though that nighttime temperatures usually drop in san Diego especially by the water so bring a jacket. They do have heater around but i still find it chilly. It is in a convenient location. We stayed next door at the Marriott marquis marina and walked over for food.

Came here during a conference with my colleagues and sat outside on the patio. The weather was perfect and the service was helpful without being overbearing. We had a variety of dishes between us and all and there were no complaints. The salad I ordered was well perfectly with perfectly seared scallops, tender shrimp, and a butter lettuce with plenty of toppings. It was plenty to enjoy as a full meal. The seafood sampler was also a hit and was well fresh and prepared with a nice presentation. We tried several nearby restaurants during the conference and this was probably our top pick. I'd recommend making reservations since they do fill up with conferences, but it wasn't too busy when we went.

Sally's is just a stones throw from Seaport Village right by the Grand Hyatt. Came here for lunch on an early lunch Sunday at 11:30 am. This is an upscale seafood restaurant in the most quintessential downtown San Diego location. For food the highlight was the Fish and Chips which came at the recommendation of our waiter. While they are pricey at $35 I knew I had to try them when I saw they were made from Sea-bass as opposed to the usual cod. They were absolutely delicious, with juicy tender fish and a crispy exterior. Our fries had room for improvement, we got the ends of the fries which were a bit over crunchy and a little disappointing for a restaurant at this price point. The other highlight was the octopus which was sublime: fresh, just chewy enough, and bursting with flavor. The lobster roll was solid and the crab cakes were ok. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. I would definitely come back for that sea-bass fish and chips!

We came to Seaport Village to check out all the shops and restaurants. Once we got hungry we checked out Yelp for guidance. Sally's won the vote!! As we entered, we were greeted with a smile. We were quickly seated inside. The tables with the view of the water were taken. We ended up ordering the crab cakes, the grass fed burger with bacon, and a side salad. All were really good. We've enjoyed other menu items before. The Chilean Sea Bass, the Ribeye, and the bread has been delicious as well. Overall, it was a success! All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was very well maintained and nautical. They have a nice bar as well. We will be back soon.

We had dinner at Sally's while visiting the area. The food came out pretty fast, which was nice. Overall the food was good, but a bit on the salty side. The clam chowder was quite salty, and I also tried the kids' burger that I ordered for my daughter and it was a little salty as well. One thing we really enjoyed was the signature bread and butter. It was simple but very good and a great start to the meal. I think many people come here more for the drinks and the nice view. For us, we were just looking for a good dinner after a long day out. Overall it was an okay experience, but the seasoning could be better.

I was on jury duty and visiting place downtown for lunch.  Sally's is near a trolley stop so I dropped by. I ordered the fish and chips.  Batter was thin and crunchy.  The mix of salt and pepper perfectly accentuated the mild chilean sea bass.  Loved the fresh, tender, moist, and flaky sea bass.  Fries were big and full of fried potato flavor.  This is one of my favorite places to get fish and chips. Complimentary soda water was delicious.  Bubbly with a clean flavor that went down smooth.  Some places have soda water that have a bit of a bitter flavor or aftertaste but not here.  This is one of the best. Staff was nice and service speedy.  There is a nice view of the marina.  Very relaxing spot for lunch.

Great food! Good view, but the service took a while, if you're looking for a date night with more socializing this would be a great place, but for a family dinner, I wouldn't recommend this place, we dine in at 7pm our serverand didn't get our food until 8:45 pm.

Came here for lunch on a Sunday with the dog. Nice touch having a menu just for dogs. Restaurant is actually part of the Hyatt, seafood based. 4 entrees and 2 glasses of wine ran about $200 so keep that in mind. Portions are pretty good as well left full. Lobster roll was a little low on lobster. Seafood sampler was great and nice unique flavors. Chicken sandwich wasn't anything special nor was their poke bowl. Service is great and nice environment being right there on the edge of the water. Overall not a bad spot to stop by and check out.

    Robert F.

Probably one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. The food itself wasn't the main issue--it was the service and overall attitude. The staff came off like they were doing us a favor just by letting us eat there. Super unwelcoming vibes, almost like they didn't need or want our business. Honestly, this place needs a full retrain on how to treat customers. Dining out should feel inviting, not like you're inconveniencing the staff. Save yourself the frustration and pick literally any other spot. Do yourself a favor--skip Sally's. Terrible terrible terrible.

We made a reservation and although we arrived on time, we had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. I agree with some of the other commenters when they say that the revolving fireplace needs some love. It has the look and feel of needing to be updated. Also, for it to be a "speakeasy" vibe, you could hear the loudness of the bar through the walls. It just kind of ruins the facade a little bit. Regardless, we enjoyed the novelty of being slowly admitted to the speakeasy on the opposite side. We were given seats and upon first glance it was a dark lit space with an old fashioned aesthetic. I was surprised to see how casual everyone was dressed- I assumed there was a dress code, but I guess flip flops made the cut ‍. It took a few minutes for our server to attend to us, and when he did you could tell he was slammed. We just didn't get the table side manner one was hoping for an establishment like this. Peeking at their drink menu, I found myself disappointed that much of their options had a lot of sweet or fruit juice ingredients. So, I went for their old fashioned. For the price, it was just okay. Another disappointing moment. In all, it wasn't terrible, but it just isn't worth the hype. Overpriced and mediocre drinks and a seemingly overworked staff didn't make for a memorable experience and ended up not being for us. Glad to have tried it...but look elsewhere if you've actually been to a speakeasy. This just doesn't live up to what it's trying to sell you.

The best recourse the bartender had to de-escalate the situation was asking my party of 3 to go to a different section of the bar. When I pointed out this seemed unfair, given we were there first, a manager asked to speak to me outside before informing we that we were being asked to leave the establishment (along with the other party, who had just entered, though let the record show, I never see them leave). I think the most insulting part about this interaction was the manager ending with "We'd be happy to have you back tomorrow". I informed him, this would not be possible for us, as this was our last night in town.

I couldn't agree more with the rules. I don't think there is good at this establishment, as our group just came from dinner I wasn't looking for food. Just spirits, live music and a good time. Highly recommend if you are looking for live music and uniquely crafted cocktails.

Multiple bystanders witnessed his behavior but failed to intervene, assuming it was just "relationship drama" After the man finally left, the venue's security completely misread the situation. Instead of checking on my well-being or ensuring the aggressor had left the premises, security targeted and chased me as if I were the problem. It is incredibly disappointing and dangerous for a business's security team to lack the basic situational awareness and training required to identify the actual victim in a situation. I felt entirely unprotected by the staff here. I hope management takes this as a serious sign that their security team needs immediate retraining on bystander intervention and de-escalation, rather than harassing women who are already in vulnerable situations.

Kiku Room has a chic minimalist interior, with polish concrete, metal, and glass as the primary backdrop. The DJ booth is large and separates the front sitting area from a lounge in the back that is draped in deep red lighting. The bartenders are cool and welcoming, the DJs who come through are usually really good, and the lounge is quite comfortable as well. Pretty good price on drinks overall, too. You can get a glass of draft Asahi here for $7, for instance, which is pretty good for a place that's in this DTSD-adjacent area.

The cocktails are just as dialed. Balanced, clean, strong (in a good way), and not trying too hard. They have some great NA options as well. The NA Asahi beer is amazing. You can tell there's real intention behind the bar, which makes the whole experience feel cohesive. Yes, there's usually a line -- but that's what happens when something is this good. I've heard they're working on expanding, which would be amazing because the space deserves to hold more people without losing that energy. Five stars. For the music. For the drinks. For the vibe. I'll happily wait in line for this one.
