It's just not what it used to be...I was really hoping to have an opportunity to give a 5-star review, but unfortunately that won't be happening. My friend and I made appointments for a couples renewal massage after we both had received gift cards. While the robes and somd of the amenities are nice, the massage was really what I was there to enjoy. I was trying my best to not get upset (45, single mom of twin 2 year olds- I needed this break and massage) it just didn't hit the mark. I told the therapist I'd like it firmer and harder and not light touches and I think she must have thought I said the opposite- soft tickling type of massage and she didn't seem to want that style to change. Maybe she's knew but I have never gone up and down (being raised by her foot control) so many times in my life. Maybe she has back problems? My friend asked me afterwards why she was so loud (like I knew why? lol). Several times washing her hands and then threw the robe on my legs after the massage. Miss the exfoliating scrub at the end! Those were wonderful. While the after treatment room is nice, I'm sad to say, this just was such a disappointment. Hoping to have enough funds to give it another try at some point. read more

By far one of my favorite spas in Rochester for all the little reasons. They think of it all! There's the essential robe and cotton slippers located inside your locker upon arrival. Along with towels, hand towels and iced towels for after the sauna or showers. I live in Buffalo and make the drive here a few times a year to meet my best friend from Syracuse for a spa day. We usually do a package with massages and pedicures. The cost is pricey but then again, quality spa treatments usually are! The spa itself is a very relaxing place. The women's locker room is kept incredibly clean and is stocked with everything you need. I must say - the showers are the BEST showers you'll ever experience! My daughter and I received gift cards here in 2019 before the pandemic closed everyone down. We finally got around to using them when she was home for Christmas break this year! We chose the 80 minute Signature Spa pedis and couldn't have been happier with our services. The techs were funny and kind. It has been quite a while since I have been here. I called to book an massage and the spa requires a card to hold the appointment. I was told to arrive 30 minutes prior for ease of checking in and settling down. Check in was very simple and easy. A front desk staff showed me to the back and taught me how to use the lockers. I changed into my robe and made myself a nice cup of tea and headed to the waiting area. I enjoyed some dried fruit in there while waiting for my masseuse. The room made me feel so relaxed and cozy. Kristen, my masseuse, escorted me to the room. I am glad I got the 80 minute renewal massage because I had knots all over my body. Kristen worked really hard got them all out and even stretched me. Can I keep her? As Kristen walked me back to the waiting area, she gave me a cup of chai tea. Kristen also told me to drink lots of water to get rid of all the toxins. I used the dry sauna and used a cold towel for my face afterwards. Then I took a shower. There were shower-heads from ceiling and on both sides of the wall. They offer body wash, shampoo, and conditioner also. The spa also had complimentary razors, shower girl, sanitized combs, straighteners, and curlers. Basically you only need to bring your clothes! Now your lucky to be asked if you want a water Last two massages I got here were so underwhelming. The first one that wasn't great was a duo renewal massage for my friends birthday. To start off I'm not a large person. 5"7 under 130lbs. A few minutes into the appointment I asked my masseuse to go a little harder, I always hate asking but the employees aren't mind readers. The lady quickly snapped back and said I did not sign up for the deep tissue massage and if I wanted it harder I should have done that. I was immediately turned off and was annoyed the rest of the appointment. Not just at the women's attitude or the fact i'd be sitting there unsatisfied for the remainder of my appointment, but I've been coming for years and always have gotten the renewal and never had an issue before. Next appointment I call to make so I can make sure not to have the same lady. I mentioned what had happened last time I had come and the receptionist suggested I sign up for the Deep Tissue massage. Much sweeter masseuse but after a few minutes I thought "This is the deep tissue?!" I can't imagine what the renewal would have been like. I asked her to go a little harder and she maybe started rubbing faster, but not deeper. After checking out I walked around for a few minutes looking at the retail stuff. 80 minutes of blissful relaxation and good skincare- that was my experience with my Rebalance facial. This was my first visit to this spa and it was the perfect ending to a weekend girls trip to the finger lakes. The spa is clean, and very welcoming with an amazing serenity room, spacious dressing room/locker/bathroom area. It's the perfect place to just detach, unwind, and relax. Having two young children, it was lovely to just sit and sip on tea and read a magazine without being interrupted prior to my facial. I saw Jessie for my facial and she was amazing! From the service itself to the fancy locker room showers, I was in stress-free heaven. The check-in process was simple and the staff warm and welcoming. As I was a Del Monte newbie, they gave me a tour of the facility and ensured I was aware of the amenities included in my service appointment. We enjoyed herbal tea and a sit in the sanctuary room prior to our appointments, and that alone was worth the cost of the treatment itself (I am serious...it was REALLY good tea and a REALLY good sit!) We were called back for our appointments right on time, and it was by far the best massage experience I have ever had. Warm towels and just the right amount of pressure. I have a new favorite service: hot stone massage. If you're looking to take your massage experience up a level, add hot stones. First of all, it adds a cozy, warm element to the experience. As someone who's always cold, I appreciated the consistent, warm pressure the stones provided. Secondly, they enhance the depth of the massage, adding an additional amount of pressure and muscle release with the combination of the rock's hard, but smooth surface as well as the heat. I felt like I was melting into the table like a pool of pure relaxation. This will be my exclusive massage pick for the foreseeable future. Although, I hear the hydrotherapy baths are amazing too and I want to try one of those treatments. Also, I made sure to block additional time after my massage to relax in the sanctuary room. It's blissful. I brought my own magazines and sat with a superb herbal tea in my cozy robe in the quiet, peaceful room. There were a few staff members who came in from time to time to offer fresh fruit skewers. A lovely touch. Either way, an extra hour to myself in peace and quiet with soft ambient music playing felt like the best treat. I was fully relaxed and recharged following this experience. I had a massage gifted to me by my kids. Kristen the massage therapist was excellent, and the massage was very good. I enjoyed my experience with her and I would give her 5 stars. However, afterward when I went to check out, the entire experience was ruined. The tall blonde that was checking me out was rude and inappropriate. My kids thoughtfully included a 20% tip in the gift card, and I told the receptionist that when I was checking out. She then asked me again for a tip, and when I told her that the gift card should cover it. Then she said,"Just that?" in a snotty tone. There are many places in Rochester that you can go for a good massage without being looked down upon and treated in a snotty manner. I have been to the DelMonte many times and it has been getting worse each time. I spent over $300 on manicures and pedicures for a Christmas gift. Went to use mine and my manicurist was subpar, almost like I went to a mall for gel nails, I left with polish on my hands and less than a week last I had to glue my gel back down, it is peeling off in full sheets like my nails weren't prepared right. During the pedicure my lady disappeared for 15 minutes before she came back. I had to sit Myself down to no water and wait. My husband purchased the celebrating maternity package for me for my birthday/ mother's day/ due date. I had a facial done with Kelley and it was MAGICAL!! She accommodated my pregnancy related discomfort and made my skin feel brand new. My pedicure was done by Tiffany and she was an absolute JOY to talk to! My feet look amazing and my toes are perfect. Sadly, my prenatal massage was less than ideal. I am just 1 month from my due date which my therapist was informed of. The room was very warm and the bed heater was on to which I made a comment before undressing that it was too hot. The massage started off on my side which was fine, but she then had me lay on my back. I was clearly uncomfortable as I asked her to adjust the bed multiple times, but she continued to have me on my back (not recommended by OB providers). I told her that I felt dizzy so she grabbed my water. I asked if we could adjust to my side, but she suggested to end the massage early so that I could "relax before my facial". I felt awkward saying no as she had already started packing things up quickly, so I agreed. Super disappointed by this especially because of the price and the fact that only the right side of my body was massaged (she stopped before doing the left). Thankfully, Del Monte did recognize this and compensated way more than I expected, but I just thought other pregnant women should know so that they can advocate for themselves. read more

Went with my best friend to get a prenatal massage and her a deep tissue. Upon walking in we were greeted and given a tour of the amenities (Which by the way is stunning.) We put our belongings into a locker and changed into our robes and given slippers then went to a waiting area which had the most serene and peaceful feel to it. I'm 36 weeks pregnant and my prenatal massage was heavenly. You have the majority of the massage on your sides but the last few moments are on your back and the bed adjusts you in a what is like a 45 degree angle keeping you comfortable. I definitely recommend to any expecting mommas to get this massage. There was not a moment of discomfort throughout the entire thing. Had an appt for a Pedi today. Which is a real treat when done right. I have had pedicures from many cosmopolitan cities during travel and here in the Rochester area over the years. A pedicure is not only desired for groomed nails, cuticles, hangnails and callous removal. A good portion is from the relief felt after feet and lower leg are massaged. Although the pedicurist was pleasant I feel her touch was very light. Her hands were gliding without any strength or pressure behind them. The pedicure was priced at $55 but really not worth it even though the surroundings are appointed very nicely. In closing I'd like to mention that every person has their own touch in the massage aspect of a pedicure. With that said I think it would be a nice feature if the pedicurist would ask how intense of a massage the client would like, so they have a point of reference. Or alternatively the desk staff ask what intensity you prefer to book you with the right person. read more

It's about the entire experience right? I went to the spa at the De Monte yesterday evening for a massage. I was greeted by the friendly staff and directed to the men's sanctuary to get ready. Sanctuary was not the proper word. More like a locker room after "the big game". The place was littered with used towels, robes, slippers, cups and napkins. I found an empty locker to get changed. Unfortunately I didn't realize there were no clean robes to be found so I had to get dressed, go back out to the front desk and ask for one. They apologized, handed me one and told me they had no male attendants on staff that day. My massage was scheduled for 6pm. At about 6:05 my Masseuse came in to get me. I was the last of four to be taken. She showed me to my room and told me she'd be right back so I could get disrobed in private. About 7 minutes later she came back. I thought she had forgotten about me. To her credit the deep tissue massage was very good. Unfortunately it ended a little early. Last one in, first one out. I got back to find the sanctuary empty and more disheveled than before. I actually cleaned up a little just so I could get showered and dressed in a clean area. All in all it was a very disappointing experience. This wasn't my first time there, so I expected a lot more from the Del Monte. Hire some male employees for gosh sake! read more

I've been going to this spa since it opened years ago. I actually don't mind the prices. I totally "get" that it's a hotel spa , so its staff tends not to stay and establish themselves. Over the years, it has gradually slipped in its level of service, but it's always been "ok". Today I had a pedicure with a woman who was so horribly contrary , inappropriate,argumentative who regaled me , rolled her eyes at me...then burdened me with stories of her own mental illnesses.....I nearly walked out of the salon in my bare feet! It was apparent that no training or supervision was going to help this person, she simply should not be in the service industry, let alone a high end spa!!! I do not blame her. Delmonte is notorious for coming to get you from the waiting room late and then also finishing the service early (and also leaving you tons of time to get settled un the room). Lis called me in 10 mins late, let me get settled for 8 minutes, and finished 8 minutes early. The entire facial was her just laying and leaving scratchy, cold, wet towels on my face while she walked around the room complaining how expensive her life was with a daughter. She never asked me if I wanted up-services, yet somehow when I checked out I was told there was an extra $35 in add-ons I had never agreed to during the facial. What?! She must have tricked me somehow in her chatting. She'd say, "now I'm going to add an essential oil" and things like that and apparently if you don't protest, they add on and on. and she did that a few times. I actually wouldn't have even minded if the facial had been good, but it completely sucked PLUS the bad taste from the big surprise of owing more at the end. I've had hundreds of facials all over the country.. this was by far the absolute worst. Don't get a facial there, don't go to Lis if you do. read more

I am a art major in college and for Christmas I told my grandparents that I wanted to go get a massage because finals week was rough. They took me to this spa because they've been there before and they really liked it. Even though I wasn't paying I still knew it was pretty pricey, but boy was it worth it! When you first walk in the back there's an area with lockers to put all your personal belongings, then there's restrooms and showers on the other side as well as a sauna. You can make tea that is provided while you wait. And when you're about ready and it's almost time for your massage you go into this waiting room where you can sit in a nice chair and read a magazine until they call your name. I got the RENEWAL massage. My masseuse was very polite and attentive! She asked if there was anything specific that I would want worked on. Being an art major I told her that I was always hunched over so my shoulders, my neck and my back are my main focus. The lady checking me in spoke so quickly and incoherently I was confused about slippers, robes, where I could go, what I could do etc. Portable massage tables were set up in what I think is a water therapy room. This is by far the best spa in the Rochester area. Located right in Pittsford village- it is tranquil, relaxing and has superior facilities in terms of relaxation rooms (large plus chairs) the changing area has showers, sauna, huge sinks with all varieties of complementary toiletries, flavored waters and teas. The rooms you do not hear what is going on outside, and are extremely well decorated- very relaxing. I have yet to get a bad experience there. Even the front waiting area is relaxing. Yes, it is a bit expensive, but nothing unlike any other high-end spa. Even after moving to DC, I wish the spas here were this price :) The only negative I have about this spa- is they do hold your credit card number on file (presumingly for cancellations) once you have been there- even after asking to remove it, it still stayed. If that makes you uncomfortable, make sure you request that. read more
