I've been going to Sally for a couple of years now-she's the best! I always know that I'm going to leave satisfied. She's intuitive when it comes to color, and if you want to go for something fun, like fuchsia, Sally's your girl! She is also efficient. I have to have my gray roots covered, and I like that she can do that, and highlights in one step, vs. 2 shampoos. I appreciate that Sally gives clients her full attention and doesn't take too many at once, leaving you sitting for too long with chemicals in your hair burning your scalp. None of that nonsense. I love having a hair dresser that I can talk to and even confide in. It makes the experience more special. I would definitely recommend Fantastic Sam's for the reasonable prices, with Sally as your stylist. Oh I forgot to mention, I love the way she cuts my hair as well! read more

First time getting a haircut in 2 years & came out STUNNING!! I requested an appointment through Yelp for an adult haircut & Raquel answered in minutes! She explained it was a $40 service that included a free wash & tousle dry, but any other styling was additional. She awesomely answered a bunch of concerns I had! Once I got to my appointment, all the ladies welcomed me with smiles. Ms. Kerri--stunning lady that Ms. Raquel booked me with--asked me for pictures & what I wanted before washing my hair. I wanted an inch off, but she said 1 1/2 inches would help my ends more & now my hair feels SO SOFT!! She was outgoing & even asked me if I need anything else (e.g. hair spray, oil...) or wanted to change anything (e.g. cut a little more, etc.) . I absolutely LOVE this salon! Whenever I come here, I have always been greeted with warm welcomes! The salon just opened up a few months ago with a new owner, and I have been having the best time since. The interior is spacious and decorated beautifully, you can tell there's been a lot of care put into it. Each time I've gone to get a trim, or get any layers done, it comes out amazing. I am always impressed by the quality that gets put into each and every cut. I constantly recommend this place to all of my friends and family, and they have nothing but good things to say as well! I went In in couple weekends ago. The lady who cut my hair was nice and all but I have three major gripes- I had a set appt for 3:15 or 3:30, can't remember - I was punctual on time, but I had to sit and wait 15 minutes while they finished the other patron's hair. I get it, okay, hair salons can't be exact exact, but zero apology when they brought me to the seat for me waiting and waiting. Secondly, I paid for the $40 adult haircut which includes a shampoo. It says so on the website. Facts. I told her I just wanted split ends trimmed. She just wet my hair down with a spray bottle and cut the split ends but didn't shampoo at all. At all. Then what am I paying $40 for ? I realize it doesn't include a blow dry but it does include the shampoo. Then thirdly, she asked me if I color my own hair? What's that supposed to mean? Just because she doesn't like the style doesn't mean I colored my own hair, it's currently a bit faded which I need to get a refresh for but no I didn't color my hair at home like an amateur, I had a professional hair stylist at another salon do it. Three strikes you're out. I've been coming here for years but I'm never coming back. Thing that bugged me the most was no shampoo. Then I should get a discount, not pay full price. Laura did my hair perfectly. She's the type who actually cares about your hair, i told her about my box dye and she was open to do a test strand before fully dyeing my hair and told me that my hair would be okay after the test strand. She's a very sweet lady, constantly ensuring i wasn't thirsty or uncomfortable and she has great stories to tell. I love this place and my hair turned out better than expected and I will definitely be coming here again! This review is for Sally only, not the new owner who is respectful. Sally shows little regard or respect for her customers or even her co-workers. She frequently gets into arguments with colleagues right in front of customers, which is both unprofessional and uncomfortable. To maximize her income, she often overbooks appointments and juggles multiple clients at once, even when it risks causing damage to the service results. In my case, she told me that for my type of color, the process should only take 25 minutes to achieve the soft black/darkish brown I wanted. Instead, because she spent about 10 minutes counting cash for an accounting issue and then attended to 2-3 other clients, my color was left on for over 45 minutes. The result was a deep, harsh black--completely different from what I had requested. When the business changed ownership, she initially told me to see her at the Irvine location, but she never informed me when she switched back to the Lake Forest location. I drove all the way to Irvine for my appointment only to be told she no longer worked there. She wasn't apologetic--just dismissive. Unfortunately, this unapologetic attitude seems to be her standard way of handling mistakes. I would not recommend booking with Sally if you value professionalism, clear communication, and the results you actually asked for. read more

The haircut is great. My daughter loves her new hairstyle. This should have been 5 stars but we have a complaint regarding one of the staff. There were two hairdressers today and they were both busy with clients. There were also two other customers waiting for their turn. After about 20 minutes a couple entered. The couple left after making a reservation. After another 15-20 minutes, this couple came back. By this time, it should have been our turn already. But the hairdresser, SALLY, told us the couple made a reservation with her and she will attend to them first. This is not right. She saw we have been waiting for almost half-an-hour when the couple made their reservation. She should have told them that and scheduled them after my daughter's turn. I don't know it it's racism or whatever reason, but SALLY chooses which customers to prioritize. Maybe she thought the couple will tip better? read more

She complained that my 2 year old was moving (he literally was barely moving and I held his head he was an Angel!) and was rude and acted as though she didn't want us there. I did a wash. blow dry and style. Price is so fair. My event was the next day and she even asked me to come back the next day if my hair needed some extra life and she did that for free. I just moved to south orange county not long ago and came in on my day off just to get some long, face framing layers- this is word for word what I requested. I sat down in front of the mirror and she asked what I wanted, I asked her to keep the length and just add layers, especially in the front and make the shortest layer fall around my chin. She seemed to understand, and I felt comfortable after we discussed, then she washed my hair. After the wash, she sat me back into the chair, and this is where things took a BAD TURN. From my experience, at this point a normal hairdresser would usually put all my hair to the front, brush it straight, and show me with their fingers where to cut just to double check that we're on the same page. The lady did NOT DO THIS. All my hair was brushed to the back and she immediately grabbed her scissors and quickly cut off 5 inches. At this point I wanted to CRY but I can't walk out now, because then I'll have a huge gap in my hair!! She also cut QUICKLY like she was trimming a plant and she never checked to make sure it was straight or even, so my hair is CROOKED at the bottom. Painfully, I had to sit through the whole thing and in total she removed 7-8 inches of hair and did not give me remotely close to what I asked for. My hair is now SHORT!!!!! This is NOT long layers and it did not KEEP MY LENGTH. This experience was absolutely horrible, traumatizing, and now I'll need to spend thousands of dollars on good quality extensions and wait YEARS for my hair to grow out again. Do not come here unless you want to absolutely destroy your self confidence and RUIN your hair. I would give 0 stars if that was an option, I cried as soon as I got into the car, I cannot believe I just PAID a woman to RUIN my hair. read more

Sally did a good cut, but hardly took any time to explain me that they just wash and cut hair and done no drying of the hair. She had another customer who came in , and wanted to attend her. All she did after cut was dry the front fringes. And when I asked about drying hair she said oh if you want I can give blowout but 40$ extra. I came in to get some fun colors as I've always wanted to do pink purple and blue unicorn cotton candy hair. Last Saturday I called in ahead. And described verbally on what I wanted. They said it shouldn't be an issue. (To preface this. I had bleached my hair for the first time and tried doing this myself over 2 weeks before I came in.) I get to the salon and I show the picture to the ladies for what I want. And again I'm told it shouldn't be a problem. The salon ladies are extremely nice and friendly throughout the visit. My first issue came when she said I needed to layer my hair to do this color. I repeatedly said I did not want to. She insisted. So I finally gave in since I was trying to trust her. (I'm trying to grow my hair out and regret this) My next thing, she used hot water everytime to wash my hair after the dye and stuff. That's the one thing everyone tells me is use cold. Or it'll make the colors wash out. At the end of the appointment. I am not very happy and vocalize multiple times that there is no pink. And there's lots of strands without any dye. But she keeps reassuring me that it is. It's just the lighting. As you can see from my pics. It was not pink. I have a very hard time standing up for myself so I went home. And cried. I ended up calling back that Monday to ask if they can fix this, and tried to ask very nice. And assured the lady on the phone the stylist was very nice. But it wasn't what I paid for. (I even tipped the lady $45 because she was so nice) I booked an appointment for Thursday to fix it. I went back and felt awful about the whole thing and was very embaressed for being ungrateful. At the end of the appointment it looked much better. But she had just doused my hair with pink dye all over my head. Then washed it out with hot water. (She did re-bleach some parts) And through out the appointment she brought up that she hopes she can give me what I'm looking for. That my hair is now too unhealthy to hold color and that only the top of my head can. It was a very different tone than the first time where it was told it would be no problem. At the end of the secon appointment the front had a ton more pink. But the back was still kinda muddy and blonde. I just washed it for the first time with color safe shampoo, ice cold water, and pink color depositing conditioner. At this point I'm just going to wait a couple weeks and then go somewhere else as I feel like they cannot achieve these colors at the salon read more
