Ok so I had Sharon and she was amazing!! An absolute perfectionist and she made sure I was happy. When I went back in I got Trang, and I even though I showed her exact same photo as I showed Sharon, she told me she would "try her best". I expressed to her that I wasn't happy with the shape of a couple of my nails but she just said "every nail tech is different, I can't do anything about it". So to start off I'm super picky with who touches my feet because I read bad reviews in so many places it scares me. I usually have my go to nail salon that is 5mins away from my home but they are closed Sundays! Bummer! So when I found this place, I was a bit skeptical because there's some great reviews and not so good reviews but I decided to give it a shot. Turns out I had a great time getting a pedicure with my boyfriend, we both got the basics which is 25$ and then they have a deluxe which is 35$ (both prices include color). My nail tech was very careful and made sure my toenails were perfect and according to boyfriend's nail tech, she was also very careful, gentle, focused very precisely on his nails and able to read body language easy as my boyfriend is quite ticklish on his feet lol. As we were both enjoying our pedicures, we also received a nice butt/back massages from those salon chairs. Overall, I would love to come to get a manicure next time and see if it's still up to these standards, if it is, I will recommend them to my friends. read more

I had to give this place a review before I move out of Logan Square. I have gone here consistently for no-chip manicures over the past 2 years, and they have always done an amazing job. The salon is comfortable, clean, and it is in a good location. They have a huge variety of colors to choose from. Marlen is the absolute best, I only book no-chip appointments with her. She suggested that I change the shape of my nails from square to oval, and I will never go back! I would recommend booking an appointment here if you are able to, since they are usually pretty busy. I went here today basing everything off of the amount of stars this place has. I was greeted by Sharon and had to wait about 20 minutes until I was helped. I honestly was going to leave if I had to wait 30 min since I had a lot to do today. BUT!!!! I'm glad I didn't! Sharon was the one who ended up helping me. She's sooo friendly, easy to talk to and I think she did a great job. The place has a 2 week "no chip" policy, so if my nails chip within 2 weeks, they'll fix it for free!!! I definitely will be coming back. The only bad thing that I have to say is that you have to pay to park out front, so if you're like me and don't know how long you'll be waiting, you have to keep an eye on your car and the time if it's cutting too close. 2 stars because your nails will look great but you'll get treated pretty poorly in getting there. I'll start with the negatives because after my first experience here, I don't plan on returning. The nail techs here were very rude and disrespectful. I am a very laid-back person and don't expect perfect customer service, especially on a busy holiday day - however I consider it poor customer service when my nail tech condescendingly said she would be embarrassed to come into a salon with a snagged nail like i did, all within my earshot. I'm a nurse - our nails occasionally get worn ‍ I knew it wasn't ideal to walk in with a chipped nail - but call me crazy I figured the idea of getting a manicure is to help fix up nails...? Don't expect to walk-in either - they visibly rolled their eyes when two gal pals asked about pedicures & they didn't give the girls a clear time estimate. That being said, the girl DID do a clean, neat job with my no-chip manicure. Efficient service. She fixed the snag & my nails do look good. Solid place for nail services. I am super picky when it comes to my nails so I hesitate going to new places. I desperately wanted some fresh nails to ring in the new year so I called for a last minute appointment because I live across the street and they were able to take me within the hour. The lady that did my nails was super friendly and we chatted while she did my manicure but she was also super cool with just letting me read. It got pretty busy while I was in there, but nobody was ever waiting for too long. Good color selection and they definitely use quality products. I got a super cool foil design and even though my manicurist hadn't ever done it before, she was excited about it and it turned out really pretty. She also did a great job shaping my nails and I am very picky about that. I wouldn't make this my go to nail spot because I like all the pampering (places that give me tea or wine are always winners), but it's good to know of a spot just in case my usual salons aren't available. read more

This was my first visit at this location. I called Friday for an appt and got one right away for a no chip gel fill in. Sharon, was my nail tech. She was super nice and patient at me being undecided for a nail color. Once i got there i didn't have to wait to be seen and she was very fast doing my nails too. My previous location I've been going for years would take about 2+ hours to do my nails even with appt. And last time hurt/cut not 1 but 3 of fingers cuticle areas. It hurt like heck and for a few days those fingers were sore. That was what set me over the edge so i decided to give a new place a chance. My experience was pleasant. The reason I do not give it a 5 is because. Not even 24 hours after getting nails done 3 of them had chipped. Now this is a No Chip service guaranteed for at least 2 weeks. I was disappointed and was not going to bother going there again but decided to contact Sharon to see if they can fix and make sure my other nails weren't going the same route. She said to come in and she will fix nails, non charge. That was great and i wouldn't expect any less. Still I was inconvenienced by having to come back. I'm not saying it was the tech. As she explained that particular polish was a new color/formula and seem to be having issues with other customers too. Another reason I do not give it 5 stars is because she also hurt my finger and cut my skin. She apologized but it still hurt and it is the reason i decided to leave my other nail place I've been going for years. I will come back and see how my next visits are. I give 3 chances before deciding not to come back unless service is just bad from the beginning. I recommend them. read more

I just moved to the Logan Square area and needed a place to get my nails done. I walked into Salon Chic and should've walked back out. I asked if they had time for a fill and a polish change on my toes, they told me yes. It was a Tuesday afternoon so I assumed it wouldn't be too busy. I ended up waiting an hour and a half. This is where it gets better. I've been getting acrylics for almost 15 years now and keep them short for work. I kindly asked the lady if I could get them shorter, she asked if it was ok and I said I needed them a little shorter. She seemed to be getting irritated and told me, "I was pushing it." Then she proceeded to tell me next time, "not to walk in, make an appointment because we have lives we need to get on with too." Excuse me?! I would've been ok for rescheduling and making a set appointment, but the customer service is so horrible here that I won't be going back. The male who did my nails was rude. I didn't notice how thin they had filed my nails down until I was sent to wash my hands. When I mentioned it to him he smiled/smirked and responded with "...and? Do you want me to cut them then?" I know there wasn't much to do at that point but at least be nice about it rather than laughing about it at my face at their wrong doing--especially since they ruined my natural nails. My go to neighborhood joint for no chip manis and pedis. I'm typically here every 2-3 weeks. It's low key, they are down to skip the small talk and don't mind clientele with airpods/headphones in, and while they're busy on the weekends you can normally get walk ins during the week. Can usually get in and out with a no chip mani in 30-45 mins. They say tips are cash only but FYI the nail techs are always fine to take tips via Venmo in my experience. read more

I was there today at 10:00am, to get my pedicure, I walk in with my toes shaped square. The lady doing my toes completely changed the shape of my toes into circle and not only that but they are an uneven circular shape and she did this without asking if I'd like the shape of my toes changed. I noticed during the end of the service that the shape of my toes were completely changed and I asked if she could shape them square, and I was told that I should've asked during the beginning of the service, although I did walk in with my toes square to the appointment and once again she did not ask if I'd like the shape changed. The woman next to me also had square shaped toes and she did not have to ask for a square shape, it was automatically done, so I don't see how it is my fault. Absolutely terrible. read more

Only two stars due to manicure pricing. First visit I asked for no polish , just buff. They charged $3 more for the buff, because they said they can't reuse the buffer sponge. So when I went back the next time, I said I wanted to take the buffer, since they couldn't reuse it. They then said they didn't have any, but would sanitize a reusable buffer. So why still $3 more, I asked? They said it took longer to buff than to polish. No way! I got a quick buff that didn't even cover half the nail and was gone the next day, and still paid $3 more. There are too many nail salons to give them any more of my business. read more

Love this salon! Shout out to Trang, who is a lovely person as well as a top-notch manicurist and business owner. I come here regularly for no-chip manicures and the occasional pedicure. They can usually make room if you drop by, but they're popular and busy so it's better to make an appointment if you can. I love the renovation including the brand-new pedicure chairs - the space is very bright, clean and welcoming. I'm very picky but pleased to say my nails always look flawless and last at least two weeks if not three or even four. If one happens to chip within two weeks, they'll fix it for you free of charge. Mediocre, unfriendly service. Since I recently moved to Logan Square, I decided to try a new nail salon in the hopes of falling in love and becoming a regular as the salons I usually go to are a tad far for me now. I walk-in and was promptly seated for my pedicure. As soon as I sat down, I could tell that the technician doing my nails was not having a good day and had a bad attitude about her. I let it go, minding my business, hoping to be in and out. My original nail color was a no chip on my toes. That will be $7 to remove it, she says as soon as I sit down on the chair. I never HEARD of a salon charging as much as $7 to remove no chip but whatever (I needed my toes done and she probably needed to address the ridiculous price of removing no chip because I'm sure other clients complained about it too). Like, can I get a mimosa with that too for that price? Anyway, she started removing the nail polish with acetone, however, instead of patiently waiting for the color to uplift, she proceeded to scrape, literally scrape, the color off my nails. When she was using the scraper for the soles of my feet she was so harsh that I had a throbbing pain after she was done so when she was doing my left foot, I told her that was enough. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt and let her do her thing but she was so harsh and rough with me that she literally chipped one of my real nails. I expressed to her that I had a pain in my big left toe and there was an in grown nail. She had no idea what she was doing. She said I need to go to a foot doctor to address my issue. Funny, the many salons I have went to before ALWAYS pull the ingrown nail out without any problems. As she proceeded to buff my toes, roughly, the acrylic I had glued over my second toe from my previous pedi of a month ago... (MIND YOU, she had already took the no chip off and was buffing the crap out of my nails 75% into my pedi) the entire acrylic came off! She looked at me in horror, and was like that will be $5. At that point, I was very upset, I expressed to her that it came off due to her rough nature. I told her I did not feel comfortable proceeding with the pedi and would like someone else to finish my pedi. My toe nails look like a 5 year old painted them and my pinky already chipped; its been less than a week. I would NEVER come here again for such mediocre service. I am not one to complain, I can even ignore someone's crappy attitude for their crappy day (I get it, I worked in customer service for 8 years before) but the service was absolutely terrible. read more

Depending on who you get for a manicure or pedicure, it can be pretty hit or miss. The owner is extremely professional and knows what she's doing and I'm always satisfied with her work, but I can't say the same for the rest of the staff. I have also witnessed some unsanitary practices here. I had to ask a technician to change their gloves because they were working on my pedicure and went to ring someone up, touched the cash, and then proceeded to try and continue working on my feet. Gross! The hands down, absolute worst thing I've seen here was watch a technician wax someone's eyebrows and use the same dipstick over and over in the wax - meaning they dip the stick in the wax, then on the customer, and back into the wax. You're not supposed to double dip, it's not sanitary! read more
