I had my first experience at Salon Fluxx recently. My hairstylist, Loryn, started working there a few months ago. I'd follow her all around the country to get my hair cut by her. She does a fantastic job! I always tell Loryn that if I ever become rich and famous that I want her to do my hair everyday because she always makes me look amazing! I introduced my sister that lives in Indianapolis to Loryn a few years ago when she was visiting. Ever since then she drives 4 hours to get her haircut every few months. That's how good she is!! Every time we get our hair cut we get stopped on the street by complete strangers complimenting us on our hairstyles and asking where we got it done. I started going here after being a regular of Dianna's in the past. I was sold on her the first time I ever went to her. The stylist I had been going to for a couple of years seemed to have checked out and had given me a horribly uneven cut. (She was at a completely different salon, BTW.). I went to Dianna and she went through my hair piece by piece and fixed the disaster left by my former stylist. Now it seems Dianna has found a salon that is a great fit for her. She is a phenomenal colorist and Salon Fluxx lets her focus on that. For haircuts I now see Loryn and couldn't be happier. They are definitely my dream team for gorgeous hair. I can't count the number of compliments I have gotten on my hair. The atmosphere is very clean and trendy and the staff is always very polite. I love that they are allowed to be themselves which makes the entire place that much more comfortable. To top it all off, the prices are reasonable and they have a fantastic selection of products. I had been looking for a new salon and a friend recommended Salon Fluxx. I went to see Loryn on Saturday and came out with a great cut. I am currently growing my hair for my wedding so I wasn't looking for a new style, just cleaning up the style. We just did a "dusting" so not a lot of hair was cut off but my hair looked AMAZING! Loryn didn't use a ton of product but just enough to make it look great. My hair was so shiny it looked like it had been colored. My fiancé told me my hair looked even longer, if that is even possible. Super happy to find a great salon near my house! read more

Had the most amazing experience at this salon. All of the staff was friendly and prompt. I had Heather as my colorist and it turned out absolutely amazing! the best coloring I have ever had. Exactly what i wanted. I also got my hair cut by Lisa. She was super sweet and friendly as well. I showed her a picture of what cut I wanted and it turned out looking even better than the picture. It was my first time at Salon Fluxx. The last time my hair was cut was last summer at another salon in Naperville. I went to this salon after reading the good reviews on yelp and it is only a 5 minute drive from my house! How great is that? Well, I walk in and I was greeted warmly with a friendly woman at the front desk. No pretentiousness here! Everyone is warm and friendly, which is what I like. My hair stylist was Suzanne. She took the time to listen to me and assessed my hair. My hair was quite long but my ends were looking thin, straggly with split ends. She cut it into nice layers to give it more body and blow dry it into a beautiful style. I love my hair! I will be back. read more

Love this place, will continue to make the 30 minute drive from Oswego , farthest I've ever gone to get my hair done and I'm very sporadic but this place will be a mainstay for me and my hair. They were very accomidating which I was very appreciative of, I got the time wrong for my appointment on a busy saturday afternoon and they were able to squeeze me in with another stylist and still give me my color consulation. First time here [wish I had seen the yelp deal before hand] and had Cara color my hair. I almost did not pick this place because of the font/logo choice which, as a graphic artist, just screams "contemporary cool" circa late 90s early 2000s. Usually that means big stripey highlights. I have been pleasantly surprised. Like many other reviewers here I needed a new stylist. I loved mine in Chicago but living out here just cost too much time/money to go there anymore. This place is very clean and I even saw the owners? watch their stylists and check the work which would make Tabitha proud. Cara listened to me and understood that we'd need to really lift lift lift then tone to get a neutral blonde like I want. I was quoted a 20 dollar cheaper price over the phone, not sure why. I have long hair that reaches the top of the breast so it was 138. I was given a nice sample which was pretty sweet. I will be back I'm sure. read more

Salon Fluxx gave me such a great experience I couldn't not submit a review!!!! Don't be nerves for a big change with your hair or simply going in for a trim. They KNOW hair!! Liza before I even showed her what hairstyle/cut I was looking for via picture reference I had brought, she took the time to find out what my days were like on a daily basis. She studied my hair AND even felt my head shape to know what was the best cut for me!! What hair salon does that? They seriously cared about what i wanted and me as a client - completely dedicated to giving me the best results possible! I made an appt for a color and cut yesterday. The service was very impressive. I have frequented many salons throughout the city and the southwest burbs, and I have to say that Salon Fluxx is one of the best. They pride themselves on "custom couture". That is exactly what was delivered. The colorist, Damara, listened to what my needs and concerns were. She did one of the best jobs I've had in terms of color. The product was exceptional, this was the first time my scalp did not burn. It's still early, so I'll have to gauge and see how long the color lasts. Liza (one of the owners) "shaped" my hair. As you enter into the salon, you will notice posted along the walls of the salon, professional photos of hair models/styles---which you frequently will see at many salons as well as in the professional hair style books found at the front of the salon. However, in this case, you will also notice that Liza was the actual stylist on these photo shoots. Impressive. I was very impressed because she took the time to analyze my head shape, hair texture and hair propensities prior to cutting/shaping my hair. She took into consideration the natural flow of my hair and then went ahead and cut or "shaped" my hair. I have to say, this is the BEST cut I've had in years. I have very thick hair. It can be difficult to get the shape I've been wanting---thanks to Liza, I got it :) I didn't even have to say very much. She analyzed by facial structure, and created the cut and style that worked best for me. I am a Salon Fluxx convert now. They are very serious about the art of hair. I can understand and see why. It was a wonderful experience. They genuinely care about you and the work they do. No pretension, but lots of skill and experience. Well worth the expense. I'll be back for sure. read more

Cara is an amazing colorist. Casandra is an amazing stylist. Would it be fair to just leave it at that? Ok, fine I wont. So, I'm your typical cheapskate who would normally pay $18 for a hair cut and dye my own hair with a $2.97 box of hair color. However, all that has changed since I first step foot into Salon Fluxx. My hair was frizzy from the box color, I couldn't control the fading and had excessive oily hair. My hair is now the healthiest it's ever been since before my grays started coming in. I go 4 months without coloring and I can get away with it because of how Cara blends the colors. She recommends products with sincerity and personal opinion. I haven't washed my hair in 2 day and my hair looks great because of her recommendation. Casandras's way of cutting my hair has for some reason allowed me to air dry my hair and it sits perfectly. I haven't blow dried my hair in months! Everyone at the salon is super nice and I don't feel out of place. I feel welcomed. I feel pampered once done and look fabulous as well. Yes, I do recommend checking them out. The odds of disappointment in my opinion will be very thin. read more

I was very apprehensive going to a new salon, especially with having long hair and being a little 'OCD' with my precious mane. My current hair dresser is on leave and may be retiring, so I needed to find someone to take over. I called and the receptionist was really helpful in talking through the different levels of hair dressers and costs. After I had asked her who would be a good fit for someone with longer hair, she suggested Cassandra. Let me also say, I had map quested the address wrong and was15 -20 min . late for my appointment, baaad first impression! However, Cassandra was welcoming and understanding, providing water and taking me on a tour of the salon. Then she spent the next 20 minutes discussing my hair, my regime and what I'm looking for. She didn't rush this process at all, even though we were behind from my tardiness. With all that said, she did exactly as I asked. Not only did she do that, but with her suggestions to do a bit more than I thought (and not pressured at all), it really does look better than what I envisioned. I love my hair cut so much, the experience and care I received. It was worth every penny I paid and I will definitely be going back!! read more
