I don't like to leave bad reviews- and I usually don't. I went in a few weeks ago for a haircut. I saw Valentina. The staff was nice, but when I sat in the chair she kept bothering me about my color that had grown out- which I replied that I knew and I had to get it done soon but didn't have the time. She kept bothering me to get it done, I responded I did not have time that day and just wanted a cut. The entire time she was trying to get me to color it. I told her I just wanted a trim, an inch, she took much more saying how dead it was. I said I didn't want layers. I'm not sure exactly what she did, but my hair was all different lengths. Being in a rush I didn't have the chance to examine my hair until I left. It was very noticeable- people pointed it out. When I went to get it fixed the stylist I saw asked what she was trying to do and that it couldn't be fully fixed unless I wanted my hair to be extremely short (and I had very long hair to begin with). I was really looking forward to coming here also, but along with hearing about how my hair didn't look good the entire time, I came out with a bad haircut (that I got fixed somewhere else). read more

So the reason for my visit today was for a keratin treatment. I had won a gift certificate from a work raffle. I booked my appointment at 10:30 am. Showed up on time. There were already about four woman in the salon being cut processed and primped. I was seated for a wash right away. Which came to my surprise because the place already had clients. Jasenya washed my hair and I wash seated quickly and immediately was seen by Ziada (Zee). Very personable hands on the shoulders smile! "What are you here for today?" Gave her my certificate and I was on my way to process. Had delicious cookies. Was offered refreshments multiple times. I will say (and this isn't negative) that I found myself waiting a few times, BECAUSE she had no receptionist and that place was PACKED. They are extremely overpriced. I use to go here for highlights and haircuts but then they once charged over $50 for a haircut with shampoo and a blowout when they use to charge me about $40 and that's when I stopped going here. They charged me a little over $200 when I once got my color done. I had another bad haircut experience here with someone who wasn't my stylist and my hair never grew after that. I went back a few months later and while the haircut was OK, they overcharged for a haircut and the blowout was horrible. I haven't been in this salon yet, but this review is solely based on the attitude and professionalism of one of your stylists, Shannon Steers. I was searching for hair pics on Instagram and came across Shannon's account. She had lots of hashtags under her hair pics promoting herself as a stylist and promoting the salon. I reached out to her via DM and told her I admired her work and would love to get my hair done by her one day even though I live a few hours away. Her response was "Why are you messaging me? I don't know you? This a fake page?" I told her my page wasn't fake I happened to find her account while scrolling. She then thanked me. I reached out to her again nicely asking for some hair advice and showed her some pics of my hair and she immediately got rude and defensive saying "I'm pissed off right now and don't want to talk about hair." She then proceeded to tell me I was wasting her time by sending her "ugly pictures." How are you a stylist at a salon with a public Instagram page promoting your work and your salon with hashtags and get irritated when someone sends you a message complimenting your work and then call them ugly? I've never had so much attitude from a hairdresser before and now even if I lived close by, I would NEVER step foot in that salon because of the way she treated me! About 6 months ago I went to Salon H20. I had jet black hair and I called up and said I want to get the black out of my hair and I don't want to bleach it. The owner of the store said "yes sure come in I wont bleach your hair there's a product that I have and it wont damage your hair, it isn't bleach I have to order it a head of time it just smells very bad." I didn't have a problem how can you go wrong with a product like that. I walked in the salon a few days later the owner was friendly and said she applied the product right away. Yes a lot of black came out my hair but NOT EVERYTHING. So she showed me a book with different shades of brown and I finally choose one. She re-died my hair and It was UNEVEN. I said why does it look like that? All she kept saying was "well look how light it is, there isn't much black in it. Just wait and in a few days it will even out." I ended up walking out with an uneven hair color. I honestly don't know what she was thinking letting a customer walk out like that. I would never go back, seem like she didn't know what she was doing/talking about. Also they were over priced. You just dint let a client walk out like that. read more

I took my daughter here on a Sunday at the last minute and I couldn't of been happier. Kim colored and cut her hair made her feel very comfortable. My daughter is not easy to please and any teenage girl changing her hair can be a disaster. Everyone there talked to her like the knew her forever. Really a nice place. This salon is TERRIBLE. The stylist had NO CLUE as to what he was doing. He kept going to his boss and asking her a million questions. He was very unsure of himself and seemed like he had no knowledge of hair coloring. I actually showed him a picture of the hair color I wanted (it was a dark blonde color) and I ended up with BRIGHT RED hair. How do you get bright red hair when you ask for blonde? I still dont know. The whole time he was trying to tell me that it looked great and that it wasn't far off from the picture I showed him. I looked at him like he was a crazy person and he admitted that "him and his boss had a miscommunication problem and that its their mistake and they would fix it right away". At this point I was angry but I didn't want to walk out with bright red hair so I let him fix it. I spent about 6 hours in the salon with him trying to fix it and I walked out with DRY DAMAGED BROWN HAIR WITH REDDISH ROOTS. I wanted to cry because I did not want my hair a dark shade of brown. I wanted blonde hair and I basically paid $200 for his fucking mistake and for hair that I don't even want. The salon should have at least given me a discount because they made a HUGE mistake with my hair but no they still charged me full price. I will NEVER go back here again and I suggest everyone stay far away from this salon. The stylist has his head somewhere else in "la la land", doesn't take directions well, doesn't know shit about color and just basically sucks. Hes a nice guy but a terrible stylist. Oh and also I'd like to add he was very rough with my hair basically ripping it out while brushing it, not putting leave in conditioner into it before brushing, I felt my hair snapping and breaking everytime he touched it. I have never left a salon with my hair feeling so dry and damaged ever before. I felt like he was being cheap or something with his products. My hair feels like straw. I went to H2O a few times since a friend of the family recommended it. I must say the owner gives great blow-outs but when it comes to coloring I've witnessed and heard horror stories. Last time I was there was 2 years ago...I brought a picture of what I wanted (light brown hair) ended up with blonde hair. I was not satisfied with the work or her high prices. The salon likes to justify its high prices with the fact that they use quality products, however, I really disagree with these statements. Here's the deal it's a hit or miss salon. Left there sometimes really loving my hair other times it was very off and twice because of that I had to seek another salon to fix it (example wanted light brown hair got a sloppy blonde). Hair cuts and blow outs were great. But as for hair styles the staff needs to get trained on better techniques and ideas. Don't go in there with a picture of what you want. You won't get it. The biggest issue is the stylist don't write down the colors they used on you so if you go back because that last visit was a hit, this visit will probably be a miss because they won't know what they used on you last time. Went here to get a quick mani/pedi while I got new tires next door and got horrible service. The lady who did my nails (older Asian lady named Jenny I think) was horrible. She had a regular customer come in knowing that I was waiting and wanted me to wait so she could take her first. After she saw I was not feeling that idea she quickly said "I'll start your manicure and then your pedicure will be 10 minutes after". By this time I was already turned off at the way she handled the first situation so I just wanted a mani. She kept trying to persuade me to get a pedi which frustrated me. When I picked my color she insisted that she put that glittery stuff over it because to her it'll look better than a plain solid color. She outright made me feel like my choice wasn't a good one and I suck at life. Then I gave her my card to run for payment and she said they don't take cards under $10 which I understood and said just run for $10 thinking that it was including my tip. When she handed me my receipt the tip line said "CASH"!! Seriously!? You're expecting a tip AFTER overcharging my card too?!! I will NOT be going here again! read more

The service in the salon is awful. The owner is giving one price over the phone and in the salon the price increased by 50 bucks depending on the customer appearance.. When i tried to tell them why is such a big difference in price, they are giving me some non sense explanation. I wrote the negative review on their facebook page and my comments was deleted in a hour.The lady on the front desk is very unpleasant. i definitely not recomended.The owner is only looking from whom she can get more money. I will definitely post it about their service on many staten island groups on fb. Thus, people will be aware of this salon.
