I am a client of Tommy's at H2O salon. I have been going to Tommy for the past year, and I have to say, he is hands down the most talented artist when it comes to every facet of hair styling...from cut, to color, to blow out, etc...He is absolutely brilliant! I have lived in NY and California, been to top salons, and never been 100 % satisfied with any hair dresser until I met Tommy. Some hair dressers are really great with color, some with cut, etc...but Tommy can do it all. He is the first hair dresser I have ever had in my life, that I trust completely. It sounds like I'm being dramatic, I know, but I am just being completely honest. I can't sing his praises enough. I recommend him to everyone I know and meet. Since Tommy has been doing my hair, and he does my keratin, cut, and color, people literally stop me in the street and ask me who does my hair. I happen to have difficult hair, but you would never know it now. He does my hair so well that it's easier for me to do, and looks like I just walked out of a salon everyday! My boyfriend used to cringe when I was going to get my hair done, but now he is a huge fan of Tommy because every time I get my hair done now, it looks better than the last because Tommy really pays attention to my hair type and works on it accordingly. When I first came to Salon H2O my hair was in real bad shape. I had given up on my hair. Not that I really wanted to but I couldn't find a hair technician that I felt comfortable with. My friend introduced me to the owner of Salon H2O, Ziada about 3 years ago and I have been coming to her ever since. My hair is gorgeous and it has never been this healthy or so beautiful. I stopped using mouse, gel and hairspray all together. I don't need those damaging products anymore. It's amazing. I have never felt so beautiful. Ziada is my "Hair Doctor." She is the only person I will ever allow to color or put a scissors near my head. She is the Master. Salon H2O are a friendly bunch and are very welcoming and professional. The hair technicians are very knowledgeable about hair and the different types of hair and their even knowledgeable about skin disorders like psoriasis, etc. They are very honest. I mean you can show them a picture of a style you may want and they will tell you straight off if it's the right style for your face or your hair type. I mean they won't do something just to make a quick buck. No not them. They will work with you to do what is best for your hair without being pushy. So if your like me and can't find the right "Hair Doctor", take a trip to Staten Island and visit Salon H2O. Believe me you and your hair will not be sorry. They are truly the best. read more

first off let me say that the person writting this review is well known in many salons. i've been to h20 and its a very upscale, beautiful salon. the people are nice and business is done right. the woman writting this review is known in many salons, including the one i work to be one of those people who just doesnt want to pay. i happen to work on one of the largest salons in staten island, we have been around for years and have seen these kind of people before. h20 is small and up and comming with a large client base to start, and still, even in smaller salons, this women seems to cause a problem. when she came to my salon, the same old act was done, she said what she wanted, it was done right, and at the end, she complaind and moaned that it was total wrong and we screwed up that much. she the tried to get away with the bill, so sad that people are like this, but the truth is, this should never be looked at as truth. there are people like this out there, and they have nothing better to do with there time. h2o and most other salons on the island know what they are doing when it comes to there work, and if by chance there are any problems on any level, everyone is always more than happy to make sure you walk out happy. read more

I just finished reading the prior review and all I can say this person is wrong. I have been getting my hair done by the owner of Salon H2o for the past 17 years. I have recommended people and I put my reputation on the line because the salon is good and I have never heard anything different. I can tell you one thing If you want something that will not look good or can not be done she will not do it and will not let anyone that works for her to do it. I had manic panic on my hair and I wanted to get rid of it and go blonde my hair is jet black and she did it and it looks great so if you asked for something and maybe where told it could not be done and it was done it is because you insisted that it be done. I am her regular customer and she loves to do everybodies hair and take care of it like it is her hair. Once again I have been getting my hair done by the owner of Salon H2o and she is great and so are her worker. I am there regularly and have not seen anyone upset about there hair. I get stop all the time and I am asked where I get my hair done and I send everyone to salon H2o. read more

This review is for "Evil Barbie". I have been going to H2o and have NEVER had a problem. I have always had fabulous cut and Color done by Tommy. I have thick curly hair that he makes look like a million bucks! I have always felt comfortable at the salon and have never felt unsure about the stylists. The prices are very fair and the service is fantastic. I have a small feeling that you are simply posting a bad comment due to the up and coming business now going to H2o. Posting a bad review without being able to back it up and just pointless. All that know H2o know fully well that they get nothing but the absolute BEST service there is to offer. They have only the best stylists and make their clients look and feel Fabulous. To the stylists and owners of H2o, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. I have been going to Tommy for years. He has always cut, colored, and has done all of my up dos for all functions. I have never had a problem. I always walk away with a wonderful color, Great Cut, and a blow out to die for. I have gotten a million compliments on my hair and have refered numberous customers to Tommy and everyone has loved him. As for "evil barbie C" -- That is what you are being "evil." From my experience I would never go to anyone but Tommy and would follow him where ever he was working. To advise someone to go to a different salon, without even refereing to a specific person leads me to believe you are just trying to give someone a bad reputation. I just read the poor review that was given H20, this is the lowest blow I have ever see, come from another. This must have come from someone that does not have Tommy as their stylist. Tommy has been doing my hair since the day he graduated from school. Never once did I have to tell him what I wanted. I always gave him free reign to do what he thinks is best and I always walked away looking younger and better than my 48 yrs. If you want the best service, the newest styles with the easiest care, you must go to Tommy. He has hands of gold and like the Staten Island Advance says, H2O is Staten Islands best kept secret. I absolutely love Salon H2O. Everyone is super nice and supportive. It's clean and inviting. And most importantly, it hosts my favorite stylist ever, Nicole. All my life I would always come out of hair salons crying due to how terrible my hair came out. No one ever understood what I wanted. Then I found Nicole and all my hair anxieties have gone out the window. She is incredible. She understands my personality and that I'm different and like different things done with my hair. She is always completely honest with me by letting me know if she thinks something I want to do won't work with my hair. And needless to say, she always does an amazing job. I started going to H20 when my nail place combined with them. I get my nails done by Corena or Jenny and Teresa gives the best pedicures! I've been going to them for years and they are the best! I get my hair done by Nicole and she is great at her job! She does great color, highlights, cuts, blowouts and is such a sweet person. I've also had an up-do from her and it was beautiful!! she is the best hairstylist !! she listens to what you want and will discuss it with you. I would definitely recommend these woman - they are all great at there jobs and welcome you in like family and will NEVER let you leave if you are not 100% happy! read more

Specific clientele can differentiate if a stylist has creativity, style, and expertise. A clientele that has traveled beyond the minimal borders of Staten Island, paying $200 for a simple hair cut....the stylist Tom from H20 illustrates this in his work. Some may have years of knowledge while others have a gifted hand and eye. There is no confirmation of being Chic if you're not able to confirm, exhibit, and demonstrate through performance that artistic display which is the end result; the kind of result when others ask...who did your hair while rushing to get his number!!!! I have been going to Nicole for awhile now and receive only compliments on the cut and color of my hair. I live in the Bronx and don't mind making the trip down to Staten Island because the results have been amazing. When I first went to Nicole I had never colored my hair and was hesitant. I am particular when it comes to my hair. She made me feel comfortable with her honesty, knowledge and expertise. I loved the results and walked out feeling like a new person. I've been coming here over three years. The staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is comfortable, not pretentious. I'm always offered coffee or water to drink as soon as I sit down. Ziada, the owner, has been coloring and styling my hair. She is truly a professional. She goes out of her way to accommodate her customers and make them feel comfortable. I wouldn't think of going elsewhere. Appointments are easy to schedule. Some salons cater to only one type of client, whether it's young or old, rich or not. H2O takes care of all, regardless. I've been growing my hair out for two years and today decided it was time for long, choppy, beachy layers. I was terrified that I'd come out with my hair three inches shorter and structured, but Tommy started a great dialogue about what I wanted, respected my decision to keep the length (even though he disagreed), and turned my hair into exactly what I envisioned. She is the best at everything she does. I can show her a picture of what I want and she makes It 10 times better on me. I go there because Nicole does my highlights and she is the best I love my color it always come so beautiful and I get nothing but compliments on my hair. She is a very talented stylist. H20 has an amazing colorist named Shannon Steers who does a wonderful job on my curly hair with her color and highlights expertise. It is a warm, unpretentious, relaxed, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere.
