What I love about La Mode is that each stylists goes through extensive training and continued education on the lastest techniques , hair products, and trends in the industry to guarantee that each clientele gets a great salon experience. Jesse Chan is an awesome stylist! He was able to transform my dull, untoned, multi-colored "bronde" (brown + blonde) hair that I've had for 7 years into beauuuutiful, amazing, even colored hair. I was completely amazed that he was able to color correct my hair because NO ONE has ever been able to fix it. Long story short (no puns intended), I loved my long pixie. Its been 3 years now, I grew out my hair plus I'm a stay home mom of two and one on the way so I have no time to get in and get my hair done. I finally found time last week, made an appointment for a cut and highlights but I had forgotten Garrett's name (lost the card and I'm not good with names lol... my bad). Went in for my appointment and I recognize Garrett, who of course I forgot the front girl's name put me down with. "Reunited and it feels so good" LMAO. I knew I was in good hands again. I got a pixie cut again... this time a bit shorter than before. And I also wanted to go lighter with highlights but didn't know exactly how it would work cause of course I had boxed dyed my hair dark brown/black. He explain to me thoroughly how the processes of lightening is going to happen. Because of my dark hair it wouldn't go as bright as I want but it will lift to a warm caramel color, I was perfectly fine with that. 4 hrs later (I know! I blame my damn hair lol) I walked out of that salon with a the biggest smile and felt so much lighter than before hahahah. Thank you Thank you so much Garrett for my hair. You are A-MAY-ZING! After this baby is out, I am for sure coming to you AGAIN to go lighter and a trim ... and maybe later in the summer we should do all RED like the picture I showed you. I just recently moved into the Murrieta area and decided to try this place out based on the reviews and I wasn't disappointed. I always get nervous going into a new salon because I had a terrible haircut once and after that I usually only had my sister cut my hair at home. I was also nervous because I wanted to go short, but not too short, and I wanted bangs, so I was a little anxious about it. I went to this salon to have a color done today with a friend and the experience was terrible. Tryna was my stylist, I came into to the salon very blonde I brought a picture of the exact color I wanted it was a very simple dimensional color done with light low lighting but still very much blonde . Needless to say when finished I was pretty much a brunette had very little blonde that did not even go to the root and the brown was somewhat two toned when looking at it and overall looked absolutely nothing like the picture. I was so disappointed When I stated my concerns I was made to feel that I was wrong that she did exactly what I asked that it looked just like the picture, she was full of excuses as to why I'm wrong and stated that if styled differently it will change the color from being brown to blonde I'm not sure how that is. I paid 160 dollars for what I did not want she didn't even offer a refund she offered to fix it but told me it will not look like the picture, so I would like to warn everyone..... Not a great place :( I went into a second salon to get a second opinion and they felt so bad for me and agreed that it looked nothing like the picture and offered to fix it for free, so that I didn't get the same experience again. read more

I would NOT recommend LaMode Salon in Murrieta CA. I visited the Murrieta location twice while in California. I ended up with hair that was burned off in chunks in the back of my head. I did not realize this was due to the hair color/developer that was left on too long until I was back in Virginia and saw my stylist whom I've been with for over twenty years. When I brought this to Rick's attention by email containing pictures of the damage, his response was dismissive and contained verbiage that said my last visit was in March and since it was just brought to his attention a couple weeks ago, they could not do anything for me. I am a retail district manager and would never dismiss a customer who was unhappy with service from any of my stores, much less a customer that suffered DAMAGE from a service my store provided! People, at least ONE of the stylists there needs training in color...make an appointment at your own risk!!! read more

My first time in this salon was on 10-19-2013 and I can tell you that I don't regret doing my research before picking this salon! The stylist that I had my appointment with was Rick and he was extremely inviting and very warm when I walked in. My appointment was at 8 a.m. and I was even a little early. As soon as I walked in, I was instantly greeted and I informed him that my appointment was with him. He sat me down in his chair and then we discussed what I wanted to do. I had really long hair that went down past my butt, and I really wanted to do a chin length bob. Of course, I was extremely nervous, but Rick talked to me and gave me other ideas. So, instead of going for a chin length bob, I ended up with shoulder length hair with layers and side swept bangs and then dyed it a dark burgundy color. I absolutely loved everything that he did with it. I have gotten several compliments from people who have seen it, even though it was such a simple cut. From him explaining his ideas to him recreating it on my head. I have no complaints whatsoever. I don't even miss my hair! I am glad I cut it off, but I am even more stoked that La Mode Salon took care of my needs. Within the hour, their salon filled up with clients, if that doesn't tell you how much they take care of their clients, I don't know what does! Thanks Rick! I loved the decor of this salon. It is a smaller salon, but very cozy and intimate. I absolutely loved the music that was playing, all old school music that kept me pretty relaxed and entertained. I already have another appointment for an updo for an event next week, and even have another color appointment in December! Feels like I have found the perfect salon!!! La Mode has the best combination of super hip/modern atmosphere, ZERO snobby attitude, and amazing customer service. You feel special and welcome as soon as you walk in the door, and I truly like everyone I've met there, front desk, assistants, et al, they are so friendly and cool. Most importantly of course is the HAIR! My stylist is Crystal, and she is so great at interpreting my ideas and making them a reality. She is helping me get to the "ombré" color that I want, while keeping a close watch on my fine,delicate (previously over processed) hair. Her haircuts are also on point! She is a little dynamo :) I'm also a fan of the salon's products, especially Bumble and Bumble. Lastly, I had been driving from Temecula to downtown San Diego to a very "posh", upscale salon, assuming that you "get what you pay for". I have been a client of Rick's for many years- first when he owned another salon in Temecula and now that he has moved back from LA. I've gone from short to long and everything in between and he is by far the best at cutting hair ever! He is super precise and very skilled at what he does. The salon is always spotless, the rest of the staff is always friendly and I feel the prices are very reasonable for the level of service. Even though I only go to Rick, I really like the fact that he emphasizes continuing education and classes (even requires it) with all of the stylists no matter what level or how much experience they have. I've always thought this was an important quality to a salon/stylist because it seems like so many get stagnate in their craft and don't advance their skill. Every time I go, I continuously see amazing cuts, color and extensions by the other stylists that work there. I have never been disappointed in Rick or the salon. Just a note on the reviewer who left one star... My friend was there that day getting her hair done and said everyone in the salon was embarrassed for the lady because she was being super dramatic and VERY mean, yelling and screaming and not letting her do her job. As far as her comment on the foil process, any one who's ever touched my hair or any GOOD hairdresser for that matter, wraps foils like this. I'm sorry, but even if it takes a little longer than you think it should, isn't quality more important than time? If you want a quick in and out color, go to Supercuts! I can not say enough about my stylist Stephanie. I had moved up here from San Diego about 8 months ago and have had the worst luck ever with hair salons up here. I wanted the lightest blonde possible and some layers added to my shoulder length hair. After trying two different salons up here I was so nervous to try a third. I was referred to Stephanie by a co worker. I looked her up online and was able to get her contact number. I texted her the day before I wanted to schedule my appointment and told her I wanted to get in the next day because that was my only day off for about a month. She worked from 10am that day and had clients all day but said she could stay late and take me after her last one, which I thought was so nice of her for me being a first time client and not even knowing me. I showed up to the salon for my appointment and was offered a beverage right away and Stephanie was right on time. She did a great consult with me before and listened to all my concerns. I came to her with brassy blonde partial highlights with about two inches of re growth and a horrible haircut and she completely got all the brassiness out of my blonde and made it the light blonde I have wanted so bad for such a long time and gave me gorgeous textured layers in my hair and was still able to keep the length and after all that she took her time to give me a fabulous blow dry. She listened and took her time with me the entire time. It was about 10pm when I left the salon and I was so thankful she took such amazing care of me and my hair and stayed so late for me even after she had worked a full day. Needless to say I have found my hairstylist from now on! She knows hair inside and out and also educated me on some products that would work great with my hair.
