Nemesis (Nez) has been cutting my hair for over TEN years. I don't trust anyone else, and the few times I've gone other places (due to a move out of the area) I've been sadly disappointed. Nez is a true artist. He will listen attentively to find out exactly what you want. He will take his time, and ensure that everything is perfect. I drive by this salon every day after work, and I thought, based on the aesthetic, that it would be a good place to get my bangs trimmed. I'm kinda crazy about my bangs, they have to be pin straight! It's my thing and it looks good :) A couple of things went wrong during my appointment. I could tell that she was texturing my bangs while she was cutting them, so I politely reminded her that I like them absolutely pin straight, and she agreed but didn't really seem to change how she was styling them. She cut them dry, which seemed a bit off to me. She also didn't use any product in it until she realized that my hair was a bit dirty (it was wash day lol) and I think that affected the final product. When I got home to wash my hair and blow dry, I realized that my bangs were longer than I asked and textured. So it was basically everything I asked her not to do.. i'm giving three stars because she was kind of nice, and she was young and had a really beautiful sense of style. But, overall, she didn't listen to what I wanted and I left with something totally opposite of what I wanted. read more

I was having trouble finding a good Colorist and Stylist all-in-one. My oldest daughter gave me the name of her Stylist, and I figured what do I have to lose! . I don't write reviews that often (as you can judge by my profile stats) so when I do it's because a business has really impressed the hell out of me. Xenō is a comfy salon within walking distance of Downtown Campbell on the corner of Alice and Winchester. We're finally seeing some resurgence along this section of Winchester Avenue. Thank God. And Xenō is at the vanguard of that resurgence. Nemesis, the owner, has been cutting my hair since 2011 and I had no qualms about following him to his new shop when Xenō opened. I've given some thought as to why he's just so damned great at cutting hair and I think the answer is twofold. First, he's been cutting hair for a long time. Prior to opening Xenō he worked for over a decade-ish at Faux in downtown Campbell so it suffices to say that he has the bonafides. Second, Nemesis has both a cosmetology license and a barber license so he's very well rounded as it pertains to his education and technique. Now, I am a man so I can only write about men's haircuts. In that respect Nemesis keeps me looking sharp. He's very much in tune with the current trend towards classic men's styles and he can cut a clean taper. Nemesis understands that when it comes to tried and true barbershop styles there's really only a handful of haircuts to choose from. The trick here is sculpting the haircut to fit each customer's unique head shape and this is where Nemesis excels.
