DO NOT EAT HERE! Was recommended this dump of a place by a roommate. I was optimistic, so I gave it a shot. Not only did it take 5 minutes for the workers to take my order when it wasn't busy, but I got pizza slices that were unbelievably small, and they were burnt. The worst part was 3 slices costed me $14. The pizza was so burnt I wasn't able to eat it. I'm very disappointed and would recommend Ian's if you are looking for pizza by the slice. read more

This is our 2nd try with Sal's. The first time was abysmal, but they'd just opened at this location, so i wanted to give them another try. I am upgrading them a star. The pizza is nothing special, but if no longer is awful. Last time the pesto was green, but otherwise flavorless. This time it was pretty good. The garlic knots they threw in with our order are awesome. Due to their proximity to UWM I will order from them again, but this is not pizza to daydream about. read more

This is really good pizza and maybe the best part is that its in a college town so it's cheap. The kids they have working there are always very nice and respectful which doesn't always happen these days. Wow....Just WOW. Sals Pizza on the Eastside reaches FAR beyond any pizza experience I have had in a long time. Great way to view the pizzas behind the glass and watch them being cooked in the oven. My favorite is the margarita and spinach feta...YUM!! I was helped by Braxton and I have never seen a man more excited to work at a pizza restaurant! It's no Ian's, but it's close and they have pizza by the slice. Inconsistent quality. Sometimes it's really good and other times it's soggy and greasy or undercooked. The first time I had it was when they just opened it was really good. One Friday night I came in and it was starting to get busy. I got my slices to go, but the slices were rushed and they didn't have enough time in the oven, so the cheese wasn't even hot or melted. I had to pop the slices in my toaster oven to make them enjoyable. On the last visit the Brooklyn Supreme was completely soggy with grease and was a total mess. Overall, they need to be more consistent with quality, but flavors were pretty good. read more

Love Sal's, particularly the chicken and waffle and bbq chicken slices. However I rarely go now that I am gluten free (hate on me all you want, I'm 10 pounds down). I noticed they said they have gluten free pizza if you order it, which is a little pricey. I've been coming here for a couple years now and love their spinach feta pizza and garlic knots! Even coming late at night the slices are fresh and the staff is always super friendly and cool to talk to. They also have a parking lot which is also a huge plus especially for the east side! read more

I cannot say enough about this place- the knots (rolls) you get with the pizza are sooo good. Every slice I've ordered has been hot and super fresh. The spinach feta is AMAZING!! With a free garlic knot with your pizza you can't go wrong. The pizza is heated for you so nothings ever cold. The staff was very friendly and nice to converse with. They also know how to direct you to a good slice choice. My only recommendation.... Grab lots of napkins. read more

For the price range, the quality of the product is very good. The calzone was shockingly good. Spot on with the oven work. I would say it is MUCH better than the calzone from Gloriosos and it's really cheap for the size. Since I work at UWM, we've been getting this pizza a lot recently and I have to say I haven't been disappointed with any of the specialty toppings (even this monstrosity covered in ravioli was good). The slices are big and you get the garlic knot so one slice is enough. They also have a very fair rewards program (7 slices, get the eighth free). Hope this business stays at that location, business at that building don't seem to stay for long. read more

Really tasty New York-style pizza. Even better service. They were out of one of the ingredients for the pizza I ordered. The manager called me, apologized, and said that whatever other pizza I wanted would be upgraded from a small to a large. When I got there to pick it up, he apologized again and threw in some garlic knots as well. Really easy, very inexpensive way to turn a potential negative into a positive - good job. I had been to the location before when the previous owners were here. I was not impressed with the food. Once, there was someone names Lark Mutz and he represented himself as a cheese expert. I didn't appreciate, in any way nor like his gregarious self-promotion, nor his advise to try the over-priced cheese-hunks in a bin. He sounded like a cheap huckster. The food was only memorable in being awful and made by teenagers. Mr. Lutz had a distended stomach and a salesman's ill-hidden contempt for people that hadn't left his place of business with products. In any case, that grade school cafeteria food is now gone, and someone has opened a pretty decent NY pizza establishment. All Wisconsites should now at least get a taste of NY pizza. It's about the crust, its about the cheese and sauce, and its a staple of life. I always ask they leave the pie in till it is dark brown on the bottom.
