Never judge a restaurant by its appearance... or in this case by its smell. When we arrived there was an interesting smell. We looked at the menu and were excited to see Birria Ramen! Yayyy! We ordered Birria Ramen and Taquitos combination plate. Wow, the Birria ramen is the best I've tasted and especially appreciated the finishing touch of a taco in it. 10/10 for presentation, taste and generous garnishes. The taquitos were good but the Birria ramen knocked it out the park. The horchata was also quite delicious and a nice sweet drink to go with our meal. I'd come back for some Birria ramen! The lady (she looked like she was doing it all) was super helpful and quick to bring out our food. They have lots of indoor seating, perfect for when it's chilly outside. read more

I can't stop thinking about the carne asada California burrito I had here. It was SO good. If you aren't paying attention, you could easily miss this tiny spot in mammoth - but please don't. The staff were quick and friendly. The food was so delicious - I wish I had more of an appetite. The vibes are pretty typical for a taqueria. read more

Very clean establishment. Salsa bar. Soda station. Place order at front, and she brings order to table. Both tacos excellent!! The fish was so generous we couldn't close the taco. Fish fresh, mild, beer batter. Cabbage, pico de gallo, and thousand island dressing. Perfection. Birria was stuffed with meat, and the consumme delicious. Two day stay in Bishop. Really enjoyed the food here. Rice and beans are yummy. To me if the rice and beans are good, then pretty much everything else will be. A suggestion, michelada could be stepped up. Maybe in frosted/frozen glass mugs and a more detailed presentation-celery? You 'drink with your eyes' a small improvement would certainly be helpful. read more

Hubby and I were hiking some days and stayed in Bishop, CA for 5 days and we were looking for something good to eat and found Salsa Taqueria if i can give them 10 Stars i will... It was so good the first day that we come back everyday try different plates and love them all. Have been stopping here for years whenever I was in town. 3 weeks ago I got the taquitos like I always do & they were unedible. Tasted so awful like bad oil so in the trash they went.
