Went for brunch today. Everything was very good. The service was first rate, and all the dishes were tasty and well prepared.

One of our favorites in Marin. No water view, but good and service make up for it. We usually eat here when we are in town, but decided to try another Italian place this time. It was awful and we got up and walked out after our burned appetizer and ice cold bread. Headed over to Salt and Pepper and had exactly what we wanted, superbly prepared, excellent service. Huge variety on the menu. Never had a bad meal there. Small, quaint..mostly all locals which we love. Best place in Tiburon!! read more

There is a lot to like about this place. Easy parking next door. Outdoor seating. Lots of windows. I had the flank steak + fries. Both were very good, the steak was very nicely spiced, cooked to just the right tenderness. But from a nutritional point of view, how about 1/2 as many taters, and a veggie with the dish? And why did the waiter have to ask if I wanted A-1 sauce? What an insult to the chef. They nicely cooked it so that A-1, of all things, was superfluous. I had the soup of the day. It was bland, flat, had no distinguishing quality beyond wet and warm. My companion had the halibut. Unfortunately it was rubbery. Her side dish was some sort of vegetable hash, something with carrots and something green, in two layers. It looked as though it had been served with a scoop and tasted like junior high cafeteria in a rural town. My companion's comment: this is a diner. And it manifested itself as such afterwards. For a $100 stomach ache, we're going to try elsewhere next time. read more

We love everything about Salt and Pepper. Great food, friendly service and it is one of our local go to places.

This has to be the worst rack of lamb that I have had. I ordered it medium, and it came out well done with a spot of pink in the center. It also came out cut into 4 thin slices. I sent it back to the kitchen and the second time it came out again 4 thin slices raw, with the meat being cold to the touch. Sent it back to the kitchen again, and the third time it came out warm on the outside, but still raw. The bread was nice and hot, but somehow the center is crusty like stale overnight bread. We had several bad experiences before, and was trying to give them another chance. They did not disappoint us ..... Still bad. read more

Came here on Veteran's Day Monday mid-afternoon. I had the grilled steak sandwich and my friend had the BLT with avocado. Both were very good. Steak was tender and a good cut of beef, not filled with gristle, and the bread was good. My friend liked her BLT also. The only minus was the pureed watercress soup, which was tasty but very salty. Service was prompt and friendly. The restaurant and Tiburon itself was nearly empty due to the Monday partial holiday. I liked the decor - stylish but not overdone. Prices were reasonable (given the location). Overall, a good experience. I'm not in Tiburon often, but I hope to try their dinner menu sometime. read more

We were a party of 4 and each of us enjoyed our meals. We went at an off time, but enjoyed the restaurant thoroughly. There is no bay view, but it has a lovely view of the street side ambiance. The menu is varied and it is hard decide what to try because there are so many selections that look interesting. We had 2 appetisers (calimari and onion rings) both were delicious and had flavorful sauces. We all had different meals (baked eggs on spinach, sandwiches, and fish tacos. We loved the spot, raved about the food and service and would definitely recommend and return. read more

I don't make a habit of writing reviews, but felt our dinner last Saturday at Salt and Pepper deserved one for sure. I made a reservation for four having not been to the restaurant in well over a year. I was pleasantly surprised at not only the quality of our meal (excellent) but at the adjustments they had made to serve dinners due to COVID. The outdoor setting could not have been nicer. The main street was closed to car traffic so tables were set up right in the middle. It felt very European and sort of special. We went with another couple that had never dined at Salt and Pepper, and they too were very impressed. My go-to entree, salmon curry, did not disappoint. Our appetizers and dessert were fabulous as well. And thanks to our amazing waiter, the night was simply perfect. Five stars, Salt and Pepper, and thank you for a very special evening that felt quite normal given the crazy times we are living in. read more

I saw the on Yelp and we when there today. Got there around 1130 (2nd party to arrive) and half hour later, it was full. Food was good and so was the service. We had calamari, French Fries and Seafood Spaghetti. The fries was cold so they got us another hot batch. The spaghetti was full of seafood and flavorful. No waterfront view here, but the interior was very nice. read more

I got the Curry chicken salad and fell in love. It came on top of tons of fruit and at first I looked at the ball of chicken salad and was disappointed at its size but it turned out to be a lot more than it looked like it would be. The bread they brought out to start with had olives in it and was too good. The service was nice and staff was friendly. The bathroom caught me off guard with its kookiness but its the little quirks that make a place charming. read more

Best clam chowder EVER. The burger is really good too. Although it is expensive (as every single place in Tiburon is) but so worth the price. The clam chowder has real clams in their shell and the rich broth is light and flavorful. The staff is very friendly too. read more

Ambience and service was top @ notch . Food also perfect . I was disappoint with their rice which comes with salmon it's like rice crispy . I was really impressed with fired calamari they were mouth ful big and crispy and well seasoned . I will visit again their when I was again nearby. read more

What a great little find! My husband and I absolutely loved our lunch at Salt and Pepper. The fried calamari was delish, salmon was very mild and tasty, and the skirt steak sandwich was very tasty. Great menu with tons of quality options! We came in with 10 adults and 2 kids on Valentines day without a reso and they graciously made room for us on the fly when all other restaurants were already booked up. Actually, in my opinion, we ended up with the best seats in the house! They pushed together a bunch of two tops in their cozy back patio which we had to ourselves; another bonus since we're a bit of a rowdy group. Also our server couldn't have been more pleasant putting up with everyones menu questions, wine inquiries and "jokes". He totally rolled with it, made great recommendations, and jumped in and joined the fun! We were fresh off the Angel Island Ferry after a full day of hiking, biking and beach fun so the kids were definitely pooped and a few of us adults were getting a bit "hangry" which he handled beautifully by efficiently expediting orders along all the while distracting us with plenty of warm artisinal bread, butter and charming table talk! The food came out quickly too considering V-day is usually a service nightmare. I had a great salmon burger and my hubby had the black & blue burger that was amazing! All ingredients were fresh local and carefully put together without too much salt, sugar, oil or other additives you usually experience in restaurants. All in all we had a wonderful time on one of the most difficult restaurant days so I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner after a day in Tiburon or Angel Island. read more

We went for lunch. The service and the food were wonderful. I had chicken curry salad with fruit. The flavor and presentation was perfect.

We had a very nice lunch there today. They let us sit with our pooch outside. The food and service were excellent. I had a reuben sandwich with perfect skinny fries that was great. My wife had a crab louis that was simple but with very fresh ingredients and a huge mound of crab. We split a salad of brussels sprouts, fennel, bacon, and feta that was killer. We also split an order of onion rings done in the thin style that were very good. The menu had a lot of other interesting stuff that we would have liked to try and a good selection of wines by the glass. I think they have to try harder with the food here since they aren't right on the water. We will definitely go back. read more

Fantastic lunch for four here. All of us had something different and all of the meals were fantastic. Clam chowder soup was fresh and very flavorful. The salmon club was delicious. Salmon was grilled to perfection, the bacon was fantastic, and the bread was light and tasty. Don't pass on the fresh squeezed lemonade, it was great! read more

Nice little quant place near the pier. Somewhat small and can be loud but the food is really great. It looks like small portions but it actually does fill you up. I had the fish tacos and they were pretty amazing! Definitely would recommend this place especially with the aura of this place. read more

The atmosphere, location, and service here were very good but the food was extremely disappointing. We smelled burning part way through the evening so that should have been a sign. I came with five other people and only two of our dishes were good- the sea bass special and the scallop salad. All the dishes took a very long time. I had the Coc au Vin which was dried out and had obviously been reheated; two others had pasta dishes- the three cheese and pesto plates- which were both devoid of flavor, and the last of us had a ribeye that was ordered medium rare and arrived fully cooked and dried out with cold carrots and a gritty mess of a wine reduction on the side. I actually wanted to go to a restaurant across the street, but picked this one and I am so glad that I did. This place was amazing. The waitress was very helpful and patient with us, and she wasn't overbearing at all. I had steak tacos and they were delicious! I thought it would be a small serving, but it definitely filled me up. The steak was tender and just great, and the vegetables were so fresh. The clam chowder was very good also. There is nothing bad I could say about this place. Great lunchtime meal here! Varied, delicious menu, a nice interior that doesn't try too hard to impress, and very nice service. We ordered a variety of things -- soup, sandwiches, fries, tacos, and all were delicious. Some are tried and true classics (steak sandwich) and some were very imaginative new flavors (soup of the day was pureed roasted eggplant with truffle oil) -- and everything was delicious and served attentively.
