Probably the best ice cream ever! They have revolving flavors that are knockouts! Specifically I am super appreciative of the vegan flavors as they are creative and super tasty. Try the mango Sticky Rice!!!! The lady there was so nice and patient as it's like a kid in a candy store trying to decide which flavor to get. They do allow samples. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store itself it cute and clean with a few places to sit but outside is great and has lots of nice places to sit and enjoy![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

After amazing sushi at sugarfish (see review) we walked over here for some vegan (and non-vegan) ice cream. I got the vegan cookie dough and it was very good but what was excellent was the vegan chocolate brownie fudge I brought home for my husband. I sampled it first... you know, to make sure it was safe. :) [[HIGHLIGHT]]my friend and I enjoyed our ice cream outside near the little pond. It was lovely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Came here recently afterstopping by and enjoying dinner at Sugarfish. Located in same mall / business strip, found this Ice cream spot which was the perfect spot for post dinner dessert. Came in and found friendly staff and the option to sample various flavors. Lots to choose from including Vegan made ice cream. Lucky for our gtoup, Tuesdays include a free topping so opted for some chocolate brownie ice cream with waffle cone sprinkles. Overall, good ice cream. Not too sweet and lots of variety...worth a go if you want a little dessert!

Decided to drop into Van Neeuwen's for a sweet treat after dinner. I was very impressed as a first timer, the employees let us sample over 8 flavors (we were very indecisive & they were very patient with us). We landed on the decadent Peanut Butter Brownie Honeycomb & Praline Butter Cake. The ice cream was delicious & [[HIGHLIGHT]]the space itself was very clean with a few tables so we were able to sit & chat while we enjoyed our ice cream[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They were playing nice music & overall I enjoyed the experience of hanging out here for a bit[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Hope to be back soon!

Van Leeuwen has become one of my favorite ice cream spots. The first time I tried it, I thought it was just okay, but I think I picked the wrong flavors. Now I have my go-tos, and it's always great. I usually share a Gooder Sundae - it comes with 2 scoops (Honeycomb and Praline butter cake) + three toppings and is the perfect size. Service is friendly here, and the ice cream never disappoints. Parking is free for 90 minutes at the Sportsmen's Lodge, which is super convenient.

Earl Grey Tea and seasonal flavor Pumpkin Cheesecake on a cone

Went to shop at Sportsmen Lodge for the first time and once I spotted Van Leeuwen I couldn't resist the urge to go in and try their ice cream. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior was very cute and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff were friendly and there were so many unique ice cream flavors. I sampled a couple before settling on Earl Grey and the Pumpkin Cheesecake on a cone. I loved the ice cream flavors, the Pumpkin Cheesecake had chunks of cheesecake in it which was a nice touch and the Earl Grey was just heavenly. However, I honesty wasn't a fan of their cone. It was crispy but also had a chewy texture reminiscent of a stroopwafel. If you prefer your cones to just be crispy I think it's better to get a cup instead because the ice cream itself is amazing. As a heads up about parking, the sportsmen's lodge is free for the first 90 minutes which is a huge plus!

Can satisfy your cravings no matter what flavor you prefer as they have it all! They have classics as well as really cool unique flavors. We were able to sample some and the girl that helped was very nice. We went with double chocolate fudge and chocolate chip cherry. Both were so rich and delicious. They have a freezer where you can buy pints of all their flavors. The girl told us we can also make our own pints so we can get two flavors in one! Which is exactly what we did. My husband loved the double chocolate fudge so we got more of that and the we decided to try the pistachio.

Great spot for a treat, especially if you're craving something creative or vegan just be ready to pay a little more for the elevated experience. On the flavor front, the ice cream is creamy and very creative. They have vegan and dairy options. Creamy and so good. I always pick chocolate ice cream but they have so many great flavors. Churros & Fudge and Peanut Butter Brownie Honeycomb is something a may try next. Service was friendly.

Very nice lady at the counter. Patiently gave us samples to try. I end up getting earl grey flavor coz I love fragrant teas. Since earl grey has a nice bergamot aroma Icecream was just so relaxing same as tea but Icecream. Wouldn't definitely recommend if you are nearby. Give this place a try.

Man, I love Van Leeuwen so much. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I came here on a rainy day, but the area is soooo beautiful it was okay that I got soaked by the rain.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There's free parking which is always such a plus in LA and I bet the experience would've been even better if we could go outside and walk around while eating our ice cream! There was a decent line when I went but it moved pretty fast!

Shout out to the two girlies working the night of 9/22. They were so friendly and made my ice cream with sprinkles EXTRA GOOD! The workers here are always friendly so it's a great experience. My favorite flavors are Vegan Strawberry Shortcake & Vegan Strawberry Matcha!

After having dinner next door, my daughter wanted to have some for dessert. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is very nice and inviting with vibrant colors and variety's of ice cream flavors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You have the option for a cup or cone. The employee greeted us upon entering and offered us for samples. The ice creams were good enough for me but for once in a while only since they are pricey. It's great that they have this places to cater the Vegan diet.

An ice cream shop that serves non dairy ice cream! Yes!!! Being lactose intolerant, this place was perfect! I had the vegan Marion-berry cheesecake ice cream and it was so delicious! I've had Marion-berry pie and knew I wanted to try this! Regular ice cream is offered as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's dog friendly, a bowl of dog treat, non dairy banana![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The kid behind the counter didn't seem to be happy working. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Simple decor, few tables for customers to sit down and enjoy the ice cream, perfect for this hot summer days.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Then, a much closer eternity ago (about a year ago - I've been super burned-out and not finishing my reviews), I was on my way from an event back to the blue line and walked by and noticed that they had, in fact, just moved. So obviously we had to get some. Verdict - yes, it absolutely was as good as I remembered. I wouldn't go back to DTLA just for ice cream, Long Beach Creamery being walking distance and wonderful, but I would absolutely stop here if I were back in DTLA and wanted ice cream. It's a bit pricey, but all craft ice cream is going to be, and it is definitely craft. And you can save a lot by getting a 3-scoop, which is very much enough to share for two people, if not slightly too much.
