Let me start off by saying that I gave this place a 2 because the owner is a really nice guy. I would have given it a 1. With that being said, I ordered the cheeseburger basket, and the fries were good, but that had to be one of the worst cheeseburgers I've ever eaten in my life. I felt bad for telling the guy the food was okay when he asked me if it was good. I really should've been honest, but honesty hurts sometime. So, the cheeseburger wasn't good at all. This is a locally owned little place in the mall. Yeah, it's a mall eatery. Sometimes you're at the mall and want food, and Vista Ridge doesn't have many options. Salt N Pepper is a good one in that it has good selection (see pics of menu), reasonable prices (especially for the mall), super friendly service, and good food. We've eaten here twice. I almost gave this place 5 stars based on the above, but... there are better eateries at superior malls, so... we'll call it 4. But it's a good place and I'd take it over the Sonic next door ANY day. Food is made to order, which is nice - but you have to wait a sec, as is the case when your food is made to order! :) Get some tots! I love Sonic tots, but I'd take these any day. I prefer the regular tots; the cheesy tots come with nacho cheese on top (not my thing), vs "real" cheese. But those regular tots... yum. Crispy and perfect. Enjoy! read more

I work in the mall so trying this place was fate anyway. I ordered chicken nachos and they were prepared in quite an interesting style! Cheese was baked onto the chips with chicken and served almost like a quesadilla style. It's hard to describe but it made the nachos 100% non messy! Came with sour cream, salsa and jalapeños on the side. The wait time can be about 15 minutes. Why? Because they cook everything fresh upon ordering, rather than having baskets of already fried chicken just sitting waiting to be selected for a bucket. It's fresh, clean, and a nice older man (i assume is the owner) was so nice and excited for what we ordered from the menu. He seemed genuinely excited to hear whether we liked the food! My first time eating here and I'll definitely be back! Ordered the fish platter, which came with very generous portions of salad, potatoes, and toast. The seasoning has just enough heat to make it interesting without being overpowering. The gentleman who took my order was very pleasant and made sure to let me know that he wanted to know if I had any problems with my meal. Well, I've gone here twice. Got the chicken strips both times. The strips were HUGE compared to what most places call "strips". This were more like thin chicken breast. The size of the container. The owner is rude and slow as molasses doesn't know how to multi task. He has a line of people and literally works slower. I went up there during my lunch and waited 15 minutes to try to order. I called the restaurant to see if he would come up to the counter which he did not. When I called to him to let him know that I've been waiting he yelled that he was busy. The owner answers his personal phone while taking care of customers and walks away without servicing the people that are waiting. Too bad because the food is quite good but the service is atrocious. I will never go back or order from them again. If he can't offer good customer service then why does he even bother being open. Absolutely loved the catfish! Definitely a go back to place. My husband and I both enjoyed our meals. I only wish I would have known that the shrimp and fish was so big! Next time it will just be catfish, and two slices of white bread! Thank you so much by the way, for accommodating my request for the white bread. I would suggest that if you could please get one bottle of red devil hot sauce, that would be the perfect accompaniment to your catfish! From all the previous reviews, the food from this place seems amazing. Unfortunately i wouldn't know, because I've been trying to get a philly from this place since last month. I've tried calling in advance, but it most of the time it just rang. The one time someone did answer, the guy told me it would be a 30 min wait & when I request the sandwich with no bell peppers I was told they could only make it as is because they had a big order. I went in today as well, and I was told once again that the wait time would be about 30 min, because they once again had a large order. As I was searching for my card to pay, the man walks to the back for a minute & comes back to tell me they actually don't have anymore Philly cheesesteaks. I had the grilled chicken quesadilla, it was amazing! I almost went to the bbq place instead because the meat always smells so good but I'm glad I didn't. My friend did and got a pork quesadilla- mine looked way better than hers. Mine was Mexican style with jalapeno, sour cream and salsa. Hers had bbq sauce on it. The salsa is really good- Sounds odd but it almost has a maranira flavor to it.She also said the party melt and cheese fries are good. I want to try the grilled fish salad. read more

My family & I recently moved to the area and tried Salt N Pepper. We were open to try something new but initially did not know what to expect at a mall food court. To our surprise the owner was extremely friendly, assured us that the orders were cooked fresh to order and within 8 minutes were were all served. I work across the st from this mall and stopped by during lunch while walking around. Very cheap prices for the portions here. I used to go to this place called catfish house down the toll way until I came here. So basically I got a catfish basket with 3 huge fillets and fries and a drink for 6.95. The box was so full I could barely close it. Very tasty and needless to say Ill be going back for the prices and freshness. Owner/manger very friendly... I just got a philly cheesesteak that looked and tasted like they swept the floor with it. It was crunchy like it had sand in it and the inside looked like they scraped a heavily used grill off and added the resulting meat charcoal as a seasoning. The first time I came here, I had the spicy philly cheesesteak and it WAS DELICIOUS. My cousin from LA was visiting and he had seen my snapchat of the philly cheesesteak that I had, and wanted one too, so I brought him here. The second time around, the food was disgusting. No meat in my cheesesteak at all. It's as if he renamed the item to "The Philly Cheese bread". And my cousin was profoundly disappointed as well for the same reason. I ordered a philly cheesesteak to go hoping it'd be better and maybe something was up with my tastebuds, and he charges me, and after the food was made, notifies me that he didn't have anymore steak, so he had to use chicken instead and wouldn't give me a refund either. Like why would you tell me AFTER you made the food?? Should have told me before that you didn't have any steak, and I would've politely told you, "No, Thank You, I'll come another day". Hands down a must stop when I'm at the mall!! They have some of EVERYTHING and it's all sooooo good. I'm a catfish person and they have some of the best crispy batter that's mouth watering!! The few times I have been here, I've ordered the shrimp and catfish basket which is not bad for food served at a mall. My review today is not about the food but about their service. The man up front whom is probably the manager or owner, is very nice. He always has a smile on his face and greets you. Last week I went there again and there was a customer ahead of me who had four kids with her. The man handed her an extra bag of food and said "This is extra food for your kids."
