I mean it was fine. However, while it's priced and poised like it was fine dining, the service, ambiance and the food didn't live up to it. Not sure if it was just leveraging the view of the lake or the area but overall it felt rather overpriced. The service felt very casual but even awkward at times with weird questions like if we had any questions before we even sat down or "how's the food look" before we even got a bite in. I mean I guess it looks "okay." The seating was also awkward and not very intimate. We were a 2 top but seated so close to the next larger group that we felt like part of their table and conversation. As for the food, the bread bowl was probably the best part. It was paired with the different butters and the biscuit and the corn bread were quite good--but it was somewhat downhill from there. Perhaps we ordered poorly but the menu was confusing and suffered from almost too many options. It was hard to tell whether it was the entrees , the steaks, or the pizza that was their signature. I get it. Modern American dining can have a pretty wide range but maybe have less options and execute them well. Anyway, the server explained it to be somewhat Trinadian-inspired which led to us ordering the mahi-mahi and the scallops. The mahi-mahi was overcooked and dry meanwhile the Caribbean-spiced cream was lacking in both flavor and spice. The scallops were fine but the accoutrements were nothing exciting. I could not tell you where the bacon snow or chili beurre blanc ended up but it likely just got lost in the bed of farro/kale mixture. We were not even half-finished with the entrees when the server butt in to try sell us on the desserts. Even then they tried to hook us with "no bake" Key lime cheesecake and a chocolate dessert repurposing the same cracker crust base, which led us to a hard pass. Maybe their desserts might have been decent due to their affiliated donut shop next door? At this point though, we may never know as there is a good chance we won't be back. read more

I recently had dinner at Salted Edge. The restaurant was clean. Comfortable, with nice views of the lake. The service was very good. Staff were friendly and engaging despite a very busy night. The bread board was great with lots of flavor combinations. The beet salad with pickled apricots was probably my favorite dish of the night. Rough opening weekend. Food showed promise and will certainly go back and try again. Of the two steaks ordered, neither were quite done to temperature and one had a a comical amount of black pepper added. More concerning, restaurant was approaching inhabitable during back-half of dinner due to unmitigated smoke from kitchen. I'm sure once exhaust fan switch is found/operable, the restaurant experience will improve. Server was inexperienced but genuinely tried their best and will be great in a couple months. The entire experience was AMAZING! We enjoyed a lovely brunch by starting with the Bread Board with a wonderful balance of sweet and savory items. My favorite was the jalapeño cheddar biscuit! Everyone in our party ordered a different menu item and loved everything we ordered. Each item was presented so beautifully! The Brioche French Toast was the best we have ever had! The Avocado Toast had incredible flavor. The bacon was perfectly prepared. The ambiance and service were also amazing! We would all highly recommend The Salted Edge!! The receptionist needs to be trained better. We had lunch today (5/4/24) around 12:30pm. This receptionist took us to the table, but we did not like it so asked to have a different one. She told us all tables are booked so we have only choice sitting on the bar even though more than 10 tables are empty. When we left the restaurant, there are still more than 10 tables are empty. I don't know why she has to lie to us. We will never go back. Bad service. read more

Was not impressed. Steak was cooked unevenly, lobster mac and cheese didn't have much for lobster and needed seasoning, and the desert had honeycomb that tasted like burnt plastic and would have been better with some sort of citrus. Food was fairly good....nothing extraordinary considering the price. Our table was so wobbly that I had to hold it while my husband cut his chicken...which was probably a good thing since my dinner came 20 minutes before his...so he got to watch me eat and I got to watch him eat. Our server only stopped by once and filled our totally dry water glasses. We asked to speak to the manager on duty just to let her know our concerns since this is a new establishment, she acted like she already knew and just patronized us. They imposed a $1500 minimum regardless with our group which one would think they would let slide after being that late. The champagne we ordered was not chilled. It was most likely stored at red wine temperatures (55-60) vs champagne temps (45-50). The food was inevitably delicious per other reviews however, it could have been a better experience. read more

I was so looking forward to trying Salted Edge for my husbands birthday and even made reservations for January in November. I wanted to change the reservation to 4 people instead of 2 and called two days before the reservation to ask if I could change it. All I was told when I asked was "unfortunately no". There was no explanation as to why- no "let me check that for you"- no- " we can't accommodate it at that time but can change the time of the reservation". I have changed many reservations and even some with much shorter notice. I'm sad because I really wanted to go there but unfortunately had to cancel my reservation and make one somewhere else that had no issues making the reservation for 4 two days in advance. read more

After reading the reviews I had very high expectations and while our experience was by no means poor, it unfortunately wasn't 5 stars. The place was PACKED, and has a great ambiance. We checked in 5 minutes prior to our reservation but no tables were available. We were ultimately seated 20 minutes after our reservation time. Not a huge deal, sometimes tables stay longer than anticipated, however, there was no acknowledgment by the host stand at all. We were seated and the service was fine. It was busy so the server was brief. We ordered the bread plate and brussels sprouts as starters . Both were fantastic! Our table ordered the short ribs ( great), wood fired pizza ( just ok/ below average ) and the steak frites ( ok flavor but very tough and overpriced) truffle fries were good. We also had an old fashioned and manhattan, both were good. The manager did make a point to come by and let us know there was a printer issue and the pizzas were delayed. They provided us a free appetizer which was thoughtful. Lastly, the check was divided and unfortunately the charges were flip flopped with the other couple we were with. I'll definitely give this place another try. Will hope for smoother/ on time service and better food. read more
