Started off with warm bread, which was amazing. We moved to a house salad, which was OK. My friend had salad with blue cheese and was impressed at it's freshness, and crumbled cheese! Appetizer was shrimp havarty, which was good. The pasta was OK. Sorry.... the sauce was bland, and the pasta was simple. I wouldn't get it next visit. Loaded potato was good, and the right size to not overwhelm my stomach! The steak was also OK. It was midrare, and a little chewy. It had a decent flavor. This is Omaha, so the rating would be a B-. Most importantly, the value is GREAT. $45 FOR THIS IS AMAZING!!! This is a great value: steak, salad, pasta, bread and potato in 2025 for $45!!! 10/16/2025 4pm Coming from Sacramento, California for medical appointments. Came here for Dinner and it was fabulous. Our waitress can't remember her name but remembered she was so kind she had the girl underwater on her inner elbow. Salad, wine, breadsticks, whiskey ribeye, T-bone steak all delish! My family and I wanted to change it up this year for Thanksgiving so we decided to go out and try Cascio's as it's practically a staple in the Omaha area. We had a reservation so we walk in and were immediately seated. It was Thanksgiving, and it was pretty busy so it took a couple minutes for our waitress to take our drink orders, which was completely fine. It's kind of like an old school steakhouse with the dim lighting, which was cool. They also have a indoor fire pit thing that would have been awesome to sit next to. Maybe next time! We gave our drink orders, received our drinks, and then gave our food order. I ordered the Cascio's Sweet Old Fashioned, which was really good. For food, I ordered the Ribeye with fries and it was one of the most tender steaks I've ever had. It was seriously awesome. Overall, this place was great and I can't wait to go back. read more

Had a great experience here - always heard is was an Omaha classic and finally had an occasion to try it out! The fries were by FAR my favorite part of the meal but it was all fairly good! This is hands down the best family restaurant I've ever been to. We were having a rough moment--my daughter was having a full-on meltdown--and the staff went above and beyond. They kindly invited us to sit in a separate room with a TV to help her calm down, and even brought out TOYS for her. I was honestly blown away by how thoughtful and welcoming they were. On top of the amazing hospitality, the food was incredible. Every dish was full of flavor, fresh, and beautifully presented. You can really tell they care about both the food and the people who walk through their doors. The vibe here is so warm and inviting--it felt like we were being taken care of by family. If you came here looking for pizza... you're going to be disappointed. Wife and I went to Cascio's for our anniversary dinner and what initially drew us was the amount of food you get for the price point! No kidding, with each steak you get: - a salad - a side of fries or baked potato - your steak - a free coffee or tea if you'd like it - and another side of either spaghetti or mostaccioli Walking in from the parking lot, kinda feels like you might be walking in on a mob deal. The place is old timey, kinda like it's stuck in the 90's but maybe on purpose? We were seated right away and our waitress was sweet. We ordered the toasted raviolis, I got the NY strip with a baked potato, and my wife got the filet mignon with fries. We also both got the mostaccioli. So let's get into the food: Toasted Ravs: fried to perfection, but lacking much filling and overall flavor. I also wasn't a huge fan of the pasta sauce for dipping. Very deep tomato flavor (almost like tomato soup but much thicker) so if that's your thing you'd love it! 5.9/10 Salads: iceberg lettuce, 1 baby carrot, 3 banana pepper rings, 2 tomatoes, 2 black olives, and a lot of dressing. Not bad just, yuh know, it was a salad... 3.8/10 Steak: Cooked to perfection (I got mine med/well). They were super juicy and I was SHOCKED how tender the strip steak was. Only thing is they were lacking just a bit on seasoning, especially salt and pepper, but not a huge deal. 8.7/10 Mostaccioli: I aim to not be an a-hole but the pasta was not good. Went here on a date night to fulfill our Lenten obligations. I always love walking into cascios and admiring the ambiance of the inside. It sort of teleports you to an old steakhouse in the best way possible. The service is always top notch when you arrive. The food is something that is craveable. When you come in, they always start you off with warm bread. I ordered the fettuccini with shrimp and they start you off with a salad. I think it might have been the freshest salad I have had. The noodles in my entree were cooked nicely. The shrimp were HUGE. The sauce was slightly more than I would like but was very good. Ordered the lemon drop cheesecake for desert. They sprinkled some sugar on the top was very good. I wish I had taken a little home because it's definitely a lot taste wise to have all in one sitting. As a family that goes out for dinner for special celebrations and occasions, this place is wonderful for it. The ambiance reminds me of a dark retro supper club (for those that are familiar). We had ordered the toasted ravioli which never disappoints. If they had a larger portion I could eat them as an entree without complaints. Around the table we had several dishes such as shrimp fettuccini with vodka cream sauce, chicken parm, lasagna, shrimp alfredo and another alfredo with chicken. Every bite was delicious and super filling. All staff members we interacted with were very kind and respectful making sure we were enjoying ourselves. It was very easy to make a reservation and the staff was prompt in sitting us down and taking our order once we walked in Entrees came with a salad, get their Italian dressing! I had never been to Cascio's Steakhouse, so wanted to try them for Valentine's Day, as I knew they'd been around forever so must be excellent. We had a nice meal, but if I went back again, I would go on a non-busy night like Valentine's Day. We had a reservation and when we arrived, the ambiance of the main dining room was pretty nice, if a little bit dated. But with a steakhouse, that's sort of the charm, keeping the classic style. However, we were led through the main dining area to the overflow area that was set up. It was a large plain white room with a bunch of tables in it. I think it may be for events and weddings, where people bring their own decor, but there was no decor or ambiance for this day. With the busyness of the holiday happening, they also had a pared down menu with a handful of things to choose from (not the full menu). Looking on their menu online, I wanted to try the breaded cauliflower and the lobster, but neither were on the Valentine's Day menu. Our server was great, and she was killing it with all the tables in this overflow area that she was handling. Kudos to her for handling it all under pressure and still being kind and pleasant. She first brought out complimentary hot breadsticks with pats of butter, and those were tasty, because I'm a starch lover. We started our order with the toasted raviolis, which were my favorite part of the meal. I love a good fried ravioli with a good marinara sauce, and this hit the spot for that craving. Entree-wise I chose the Atlantic Salmon from the choices on the smaller menu, as it was the closest to what I was wanting. It came with a little cup of tartar sauce and one of a sauce that was similar to the sweet chili sauce you find on sushi at some places. The salmon wasn't out of this world fantastic. It was pretty large, which can be good, but in this case, it was a little dry and overcooked. The sauces that came with it helped to moisture it up, though. My entree came with a baked potato (or you can choose fries), a side salad, and mostaccioli. The potato was good, and came with a little bowl of butter and sour cream. I chose Dorothy Lynch for my salad, because I hadn't had that dressing in decades and wanted to try it again (loved it). The mostaccioli was fine, but it's just noodles with red sauce so a little blah. My husband chose the 14 oz Ribeye, and he said it was pretty tasty, but a little chewy in some spots. He also got a baked potato with the same toppings, and the same mostaccioli. We both ordered desserts, and those were hit or miss. We got the spumone, which was a colorful gelato that was delicious. And we got my favorite, tiramisu, as the other dessert. It was pretty tasty, but it actually came half frozen still. Sad. Overall, there were a few hiccups here and there (the ambiance, frozen items, etc) and a few bright spots (our server, the ravioli). I would say you can check Cascio's out for yourself to see if you love it, but if I went back, I would only go when the full menu is available. read more

I'm writing this review because I feel like I was duped by the positive reviews on this place. Ambiance: I should've paid attention to the red flags pulling into the sketchy old parking lot of the restaurant in the middle of a questionable neighborhood, with the faded old awning out front -- and kept driving. Walking in to the restaurant you are "greeted" by a hostess in gym clothes who barely looks at you. The place looks like it hasn't been updated since the late 80's. It's brightly lit, tables close together, no mood music or lighting, and 75% empty on a Friday night. I knew that was a bad sign, but we stayed anyway because we were committed at that point. Service: Our server was attentive and very sweet. She was great, and the only positive thing about our experience. Food: Yikes. Sorry - but it was really bad. My husband had spaghetti and meatballs and it all tasted like something out of a can of spaghettios. The meatballs were obviously frozen, not fresh. They were just bad. I had the fettecinni with chicken. Again -- completely tasteless, watery sauce, dry chicken, like something from a college dining hall. Even the breadsticks were bland, hard, tasteless. And this place is on the pricier side. I don't mind spending my hard earned money on a great meal, but this place feels like a scam. They are serving people really low quality food for high prices. I wouldn't have been a bit surprised if Gordon Ramsay walked in to film an episode of Kitchen Nightmares -- it's truly that bad. I don't live in Omaha, and I don't know much about the city, but when I was researching where to host dinner for my board of directors gathering there a friend recommended that I look at Cascio's Steak House. He told me that it is "an institution" in the city, part of the Little Italy neighborhood, and have been operating in Omaha since 1946. We gave them a look, and spent a few weeks arranging things with the wonderful staff there. We had an easy time working with the reetaurant to get things scheduled. Tonight, we had our dinner and it was wonderful. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and attentive, and the ambience was old school charm. It felt like being an Italian family gathering. Things were casually, tastefully presented making everyone feel welcome and at ease, and letting us move at our own pace, like a family gathering. We had steaks of several kinds, chicken parmigiana, and salmon as entrée choices. I had the chicken parm and it was fantastic. The steaks were beautiful. Everyone enjoyed the food. For dessert, I don't even know what else was offered because as soon as I saw tiramisu, I picked it and moved on. So good. I want to give a special recognition to the crew there. Lacey and Alfie were wonderful, and took care of us professionally and kindly. I learned a lot about the history of the Cascio family's restaurant from the displays on the front hall, and recognized Alfie as a younger man in the photos. During our event, one of our group had an emergency and needed to leave. We were working to arrange a ride via Uber as none of us had vehicles in town, but Alfie borrowed Lacey's car and was kind enough to deliver this customer to their hotel. Then, back to serving us. A kind gesture and indicative of the service and friendliness w experienced while enjoying a great dinner. I really can't say enough about the very charming experience that we had at Cascio's. I'm very thankful and appreciative, and I had a wonderful meal. I recommended highly. Also, if you are there during the college World Series, make sure you see Alfie's collection of autographed team shirts from all of the teams that have eaten there during CWS and over Cascio's many many years. read more

The menu clearly states the truth: all dinners are served with your choice of baked potato or fries; breadsticks; a salad; and a side of mostaccioli. I admonish all blue cheese lovers to indulge in the $1.50 blue cheese salad dressing upgrade - it includes a layer of creamy dressing AND tons of yummy crumbled cheese. When we visited on a Thursday night, it appeared they might have shortened the menu a bit. If so, and if it is not listed, you might sweetly ask your server if there is an option for a whiskey-style version of your steak. Considering some of the reviews here, my expectations were a bit guarded, so happy to report it was decent. The steaks were decent cuts of meat and flavorful, good for the price. My table ordered four steaks at three different levels of doneness, and all came out right on. As everyone notes, salads were iceberg drowning in dressing, and the tomato pasta sauce was not great. I like places with history, so I appreciated the old family restaurant decor and layout along with the neighborhood. Service was friendly but seemed overworked. It was a long time from wine pour to food order, and we gave up on our after dinner coffee ever coming. I had been wanting to try this place for years so we went for an early dinner before a show. The wait staff was great, Sarah was our waitress and she did a really nice job, very pleasant. That cannot make up for the overall experience. The steak (NY Strip, and Fillet) was generous in size but under-seasoned and quite bland. No grill marks, and no bark at all leads me to think maybe it was baked in an oven and not grilled? The asparagus was a pile of green goo, impossible to eat. The baked spud was fine and the best part of the meal. The best part was the check. The steaks are a bit overpriced but the issue I had was with our drinks. My scotch was $14, no problem, but underneath that was a $2.50 charge for having it neat (without ice)!??? My wife had a margarita and you guessed it, under the drink amount on the check was a $3.00 charge for having it on the rocks (with ice)!?!? Poor Sarah couldn't explain it, and it isn't her doing anyway. What a ridiculous way to gouge your customer and enhance your gross margin. Just charge more for the product if you need to! Old timers in Omaha will say what a shame it is that another iconic steakhouse or restaurant closes but when you've tried their food you realize why the dining rooms are empty. Oh my goodness where to start?!?!??? We went to Cascio's for Thanksgiving and it was fantastic! Since it was a holiday, the menu was a "special" one and had about a dozen items on it. The atmosphere was "buzzing" ---and a well oiled machine so to speak. Before we were half way through our salads, our entrees arrived. We had the turkey and dressing and it was just huge! -- and of course, delicious! The salad was incredibly yummy and I had the house dressing, which of course, was Italian. The waitstaff was just wonderful. Pleasant, friendly and quick to offer a helping hand to anyone who needed it. The 3 of us all took home leftovers to be enjoyed the next day because there was so much food on our respective plates! So many people were there enjoying the holiday and having a great time. They had a beautiful Christmas tree by the host's stand and it was decorated in purple (yes you read that right) lights -- never have I ever seen purple lighting on a Christmas tree but there. On a typical Thanksgiving Day, they serve over 1200 people who come in to sit down and enjoy a meal and over 500 takeout orders. They have been doing it so long, they seem to have that down to a "fine science" but the quality is still there. I actually considered not writing this review. But, then, people need to know what they are getting into before they go here. We wanted to go because there was some positive reviews on Facebook and we had never tried the place. We made the reservation online, no issues. When we arrived, we did get the sense of a restaurant that its hay day was in the past. From the brown carpet, to the dining chairs, and the black table cloths... it was just dated and a little creepy. But, ok, the restaurant has a long history so we assumed the food would be good and that really is what is most important to us. We were seated right away by the friendly host (may have been a manager or even an owner). The restaurant was not really busy with about 1/3 full and they did have a banquet happening in the basement. After about 10 minutes, our waitress came by and asked if we wanted anything other than water. We order a soda and an iced tea and asked for the cheese stick app. She explained they ran out of those yesterday but would we like the onion rings... we declined and she said she would bring bread right out. About another 10 minutes she brings our beverages and explains she has to go to another table to take their orders and be back to us later. Another 10 minutes goes by and she returns and asks if we are ready to order. We bother asked for the chicken parm. She said, "do you want soup or salad? Oh, wait, we're out of soup. What kind of dressing do you want?" I asked, "do you have a ceasar..." before I could even finish the word salad she rambles off, "ranch, italian, etc.." I said ranch. Then she says, "is the pasta ok?" I said, "do you have angel hair?" She replied, "spaghetti." My husband asked for extra marinara. She said, "extra red sauce, sure." At this point I just kind of shook my head and smiled. We got the feeling that instead of serving meals that the customer likes or the way they like it, they are just going to serve it the way they have always done. About 15 minutes later she returns with 2 side salads. Some ice berg lettuce, 1 tommy tomato sliced in half, 1 olive and 2 rings of some type of small pepper. I had to ask for the bread she explained she was to bring. I noticed when I pulled the butter pats from the little bowl in the center of the table that it had sour cream packs in the bowl. I thought that was weird because those sour cream packs state they must be kept refrigerated. She was serving the one other table she had when someone else brought our food. She pointed to us as to indicate where it belonged. I was a bit taken a back when the entree was placed in front of me. I think it was one split breast, breaded and fried, served in what I can only describe as canned "red sauce" and topped with a small sprinkle of what looked like Kraft parmesan cheese. The little side of spaghetti was in a small bowl on the side. I did not eat most of the meal. Just to compare, the chicken parm was $23.95 (not $22.95, like on the website). It included a small side salad and a small side of pasta and an iced tea. No words can describe how delicious the old staple of Nebraska beef. I love the relaxed atmosphere, the wholesome owners who serve the best at reasonable price. The parking lot says it all. Crowded but fast moving once inside. It's the only real 5 star steakhouse and decades of stability proves it. read more

What a poor and lazy attempt at a meal. I originally ordered lasagna through Uber eats, to which my driver said the restaurant was out. So I opted for spaghetti with meat sauce. What I got instead was penne and meatballs, cheese and bread mistaken for garlic bread... I thought it was a joke until I called and was told that's what I got. Hardly no sauce, noodles bland and don't get me started on the bread...!! I didn't even eat the meal, threw it straight in the trash.
