As we walked into this horrid establishment with the sun shining and a smile on our face, we expected a seat inside. This was not the case, we were told to wait 30 minutes for a single seat. May I also include that I could see at least 10 open seats in the front. Anyways once we came back we were given a message that our seat was ready, we arrived in 3 minutes. But for some reason the awful receptionist thought that 3 minutes meant 15 minutes and gave up our reservation for no reason. The receptionist told us that it would be nice and cozy outside because of the heaters, this was not the case, only 3 heaters were on. Our waitress told us ours was on to, but later another employee told us it was intact broken. The menu is average nothing special, we waited 15 minutes for food and got our drinks relatively fast. As the night grew darker it got colder and there was wind chill. May I remind you that a specific receptionist told us it would be "cozy." Me and my son ordered a medium rare steak with shrimp, the steak was still mooing and was so juicy I thought it was blood. Everything on the table tasted like crap, instead of the bread it was quite nice. When our waiteress came to our table to give us a check we joked about how cold it was, then this "Women" responded rudely saying "well you chose to sit out here." One of our first outings in Branson- we sat at the bar & enjoyed Happy Hour - went on recommendation of our bartender-"Hector" he was Great! Friendly & very Attentive. Hector made us both the Red & white sangria- very good. For our apps we had the shrimp cocktail & mushrooms - tasty with large portions & great value. Came in at 8pm, they didn't close until 9 and without asking tried to seat us in the bar. Who wants to order a sit down meal (steak/chicken/ribs) and sit in a bar? At least ask first before assuming. We were finally seated in the dining area after two conferences in the bar. We had three different servers address us which I get because it was an hour before closing. We ordered mushrooms as an app and I had the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes. Both were very good but the masked potatoes were the chunky style (not fully mashed) but mine had a chunk in it that appeared to be 1/3 of a baked potato (not just chunky). My house salad was very good. We always wanted to try this place when we visited Texas a couple times a year but overall the meal was just average. read more

We really like Saltgrass but this one is not up to par. First we waited to be seated, with only one couple also waiting, it still took us more than 5 minutes to even get anyone who worked there to come to the hostess stand. Our appetizer, cheese fries, looked and tasted like they'd been fixed and not sold and sat under a warmer for awhile. They were seriously crunchy like chips. We had 2 steaks, neither were prepared to our request (medium rare). The ribs were basically cooked like a pork chop and even a knife could barely cut through them. The salad I got was decent, I'd get it again. I understand Covid has many restaurants low on servers, however this was beyond servers. We should've walked to another restaurant when it was taking so long to get someone to sit us. Do yourself a solid and keep walking to the next place. read more

we eat out extensively in the Springfield area but decided to try Saltgrass on the Landing. worst food decision I've made in years. Mac n cheese was like glue, mashed potatoes were a flattened pile of runniness and the chicken fried steak was rubbery and tough. Absolutely not worth the 80 dollar price tag. They say they cook the ribs for such a long time but that's hard to believe considering the texture and dryness of the meat. I cook ribs all the time and it seems like these ribs were cooked in too high temperatures for a short time. The chicken breast was really dry. This is the best meal I have eaten in months! Our server, Carly, was super kind and friendly. We sat where we could see the water going by. One of our party has celiac disease, and they have a whole menu that is gluten-free. The music was good (not too loud, either), and the atmosphere was amazing. Party of 4 on 11/16/24 right at 5 pm (Branson at the Landing) and we were there 2 hours and the food came out cold. Service was slow, didn't bring utensils and overall experience was so bad. The gave us our appetizer for free and then charged us for a cheese cake. To spend $150 for very poor food is beyond unacceptable. I'm beyond pissed off. I will not be back and will contact the corporate number to complain because I'm that irritated over this. They should have cut the check by 50% it was that bad. read more

Disappointing. If you are a Saltgrass regular then you will be disappointed with this one. The menu is different, no quail apps and no sweet potatoes. The location is really nice especially if you sit on the outside patio. We enjoyed sitting out there but everything else was mediocre. My ribs were as dry as the Saharan dessert and then they tried to save them with sauce. Bummer. My wife ordered a medium filet but it was medium well to almost well. We would have said something but the check back came 10 minutes into our meal. I would have had another glass of wine too but service was well a bummer. There are so many choices for great meals in Branson but we love Saltgrass so we thought we'd rely on a standard, sorry we did. Maybe it was an off night. read more

We visited on Friday 10/4 with a reservation for a group of 10 people. Overall, our experience was good. Drinks were a little slow coming to out. Steak entree was ordered med-rare and came out very rare, cold center, barely cooked. However, an entire new meal was prepared that was just right. The bright spot was our server Darien! Friendly, helpful, courteous, patient and had a smile the entire evening. She managed our table and several others, expertly handling all of our needs. Darien gets 5 stars! read more

My last review was 4 years ago I believe and we still come every time we are in town. We always sit at the bar with Olya, Cody, and Karli. They're are amazing! Very attentive and polite. And always a good time to talk to. We always start with the Queso which is my favorite Queso. I usually get the shrimp for dinner and he usually gets the salmon, but today he got the Surf n Turf. The side salads are simple but so delicious and light. The shrimp duo was good, Mac n cheese was delish, and the steak was perfectly cooked. We also had an assortment of drinks - a barrel aged Manhattan, a hand made Maker's Manhattan, and a Maker's Old Fashioned. Actually those were all mine and all really good. I think I'd get the Maker's Old Fashioned - great job, Karli! We love this place. We'll be here every time we're in town! read more

This place is extremely underwhelming to say the least. This is my first visit to a salt grass steak house and I don't think I have any intention of coming back. The pricing of the entrees at $20-$30+ imply great quality food as well as quality service however my family and I didn't feel that that was met today. To start of, we ordered our starters which included soups and salads. All of the items were about on par with our expectations, however the tortilla soup my mom ordered was just slightly colder than room temperature. I don't know how that could have even happened, unless it was left out in excess of 20mins for another order, but upon alerting our server, Hannah, she had that corrected for us. Our complimentary bread was not offered to us, until we asked for it after our starters came(maybe it was an accident) Our main courses weren't much better either. The ribeyes we ordered were just full of fat and very difficult to cut. After a while the fatty nature of the meat made it unpleasant to consume. My plate specifically(as seen in photo) has a thumb smudge on my mashed potatoes which my server failed to notice or correct. My dad ordered a baked potato however it was not even the slightest bit of warm(maybe by a heat lamp if you are going to let food sit). Overall the food presentation is severely lacking as there was seemingly no one to expedite the food to wipe the edge of the bowl of soup(as seen below) or the clean up the edge of the plate before bringing it to their customer. For the price point this restaurant is trying to charge, the final product is extremely disappointing. The only reason it is not a one star is because the atmosphere and the attentiveness of the waiter is still on par. read more

Wife and I came here for lunch on Wednesday. We've been coming to Branson about every 12-18mos and have somehow never managed to eat here until this trip. Boy had we been cheating ourselves. Service was impeccable, and Carley (our server) was a treat - restaurants need more like her, and Saltgrass is fortunate to have her. Our drink order was taken, and delivered, promptly. Our courses were timed to allow us to enjoy our appetizers before our entrees arrived, and Carley was attentive and responsive without 'hovering' and making us feel rushed so she could turn over the table (not that they were extremely busy at the time). We had the fried pickles for an appetizer, partially because of Carley's claim that their fried pickles were the best. We loved fried pickles, so of course had to take up the challenge... and it turned out she was right (in our opinion). The pickle chips were cut slightly thicker than we've gotten from other places, and the batter coated each piece without overdoing it. Our steaks were grilled perfectly and the brussel sprouts... you have to try them. Needless to say, Saltgrass is now on our list of places to eat each time we're in Branson... much like the Keeter Center. Carley is also one of the best servers we've had at a restaurant - probably on par with the server we always request when dining at Bohanan's in San Antonio - and not only does a wonderful job, but enjoys her job as well. My husband and I really wanted to try this restaurant because we have been diehard Longhorn Steakhouse fans since I used to work there and our family still does. It was a tough comparison because the food was still tasty but we were not swayed away from our favorite place. The portions were great here, large & filling and the staff were very friendly but our server in particular needed help from other staff for her section the whole time we were there. While that may not be terrible, we were never offered refills on our drinks even when we reached the bottoms of our glasses. Of the food we had, here's what we thought: Cheese Fries - they were topped well but we were surprised that they weren't actually fries but whole potatoes cut into cubes and topped. Still tasty but not what we expected. (We only knew they were whole potatoes cuz the skins were at the bottom of the pile) Chicken tortellini soup - tasted like vegetable soup with crispy tortilla strips on top. We felt like it dropped the ball on flavor and seasoning and the too many tortilla strips overwhelmed the soup. Caesar salad and bread - while we were impressed that the restaurant makes everything in house (a fantastic business idea) the bread wasn't awful, being homemade but it didn't draw us in either. The dressing on the salad was just a little much, it wilted the lettuce fast so it was a bit it a soggy salad and it tasted a little heavy on mayo. Entrees- Country Fried Steak - pleasantly crispy crust and tasty with the gravy but overall it was under seasoned and the broccoli was just mildly streamed with no seasoning at all and no butter. Speaking of butter, the mashed potatoes, while impressively homemade with skin on (good choice), also lacked literally any butter either! How do you get mashed potatoes without butter!? Ribeye steak - the first bite was perfect, melted right in my mouth...but that was it. I ordered it medium but it came out medium well, it was still juicy so I didn't complain and the grill marks were perfect but it lacked seasoning just like the Country Fried Steak. Perhaps next time I'd order my steak medium rare. I do however prefer Longhorn's ribeye better because it is cooked on a flat top grill and develops a crust. This steak definitely tastes like a steak but not what I was hoping for. The macaroni and cheese was also tasty but the cheese sauce was too thick and the noodles didn't grab it very well. I also ordered some grilled shrimp and they were seasoned at least and tasted pretty good, but they didn't pop in my mouth like they do at Longhorn and without the Smokey Tomato Butter, only four shrimp to an order didn't seem to cut it for me. So we gave this restaurant four stars because it was filling and tasty but it unfortunately didn't meet our standards and the lack of refills and attention from our server was disappointing. I'm sure if we ever tried it again, maybe another time, we might have a better experience and there is plenty more menu items to try! We will just have to remember to ask for butter lol! read more
