My husband loves the burgers so we keep ordering from them but damn guys... quality control on the stuff you send out the door should be a requirement. For the 100th time the burger and fries order arrived with no fries! Like how do you close up the clear tip container that clearly has no fries on the standard menu item and simply shrug and bag it?!?! And the shrimp pasta...had to throw out the shrimp cause it wasn't deveined properly at all and they were overall pretty mushy and sketch looking :( I hate to leave a review like this and if my hubby didn't love the burgers so much I'd simply stop ordering (it's not always like this just during busy times) but I'm just hoping you guys can start paying a little more attention and ensuring the quality of stuff going out to your delivery orders. read more

Wound up here because my buddy wanted a steak. Place wasn't packed so we got a seat quickly. I ordered a chicken fried chicken mind you this isn't my first time to a salt grass steakhouse. But this has got to be one of the worse ones as far a food proportion. The chicken fried chicken came out quick but to my surprise that was the smallest chicken fried chicken I've ever eaten at a saltgrass. Honestly looked like 3 chicken tenders breaded together to make it looked like a breast. I didn't make a fuss but my buddy saw it and laughed at how ridiculously small it was. Usually its almost the size of the plate with a little room for the side. Let me tell you the side fit with room to spare smh. I had a side of brussle sprouts and a salad. The salad wasn't even cold smh anyway. The Brussel sprouts were fantastic but a little over done and burned. Meal cost me close to 30 buks for the smallest chicken fried tender, room temp house salad, burnished Brussel sprouts and mash potatoes. Bread was good at least and they brought another upon request which I killed. The manager, Jack, (at least that is what he said his name was) is a poor example of professionalism. He was rude, dismissive, and carried himself with the demeanor of a bigot. Never before have we felt so unwelcome in any establishment. As paying customers, we were disrespected, mistreated, and made to feel out of place. Our waiter (sorry - don't remember his name), was apologetic and seemed to not understand Jack's poor behavior either. Before our drinks ever made it to the table, we decided it was best to take our party of 7 elsewhere. So we drove less than a mile down the road to Casa de Brasil, where the food was top-notch and the customer service was even better. RIP Saltgrass - College Station. With tip it was $80.00 for freaking lunch! The chicken fried steak was good but small and came with fries. That's it a small piece of chicken fried steak and a little bit of french fries. Worth it!! Emily, our waitress, was superb. She was very personable and knew the menu. I hate ordering everything at once - appetizer, entree, etc. - because invariably it all comes at once. Not tonight. It was perfectly timed. She kept our glasses full, which is hard with my husband who drinks tea like crazy. All dirty dishes were promptly removed. The food was wonderful, cooked to perfection. The manager could be seen walking around greeting people and even help setting the tables. I don't know his name, but he had reddish hair and sideburns. The bus staff were extremely quick and unobtrusive, no loud banging of dishes, etc. The lighting was a little dim for me, but I have cataracts. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. My first interaction with this dining experience was when I called to see if there was a wait. Kayla answered the phone and was hilarious in her way of telling me it was not busy. Once we arrived, it took a second for us to be seated (there was only one other party and a few people seated at the bar). Once we were seated, my mother requested a bottle of Pinot Noir and over 10 minutes later, still nothing to drink. Our waitress, Stormy, did her best throughout the entire dining experience to try and make up for the slack of the kitchen and bar staff. Eventually we got our wine and waters. Then we got our crab cakes which were decent. Next came the Caesar salads with stale, inedible croutons; and, next came our entrees. We both ordered 10oz sirloins. We both ordered medium well. We both received two completely different steaks. My mother's was medium and mine was charred (see photo). I used to eat steak like this when I was a child but now it's absolutely disgusting to me. So I unfortunately asked for them to fire me another steak. And BAM -- the one thing that Saltgrass Steakhouse and Landry's chains is known for -- the manager showed up. She asked me to cut the steak down the middle. Medium rare. She took it back to the kitchen. She came out with the next steak already cut down the middle as a kitchen quality check and I told her it was fine just to appease her at this point. I wanted carrot cake and to get the heck out of there. Just had probably my weirdest restaurant experiences of my life. I'm a single dad and my son was out of town with grandparents. Had a free night so decided to stop and have a steak at the bar and enjoy some alone time and have a good steak, which I always get here. I sit down at the bar order a drink only one couple there, while theyre trying to get the baseball game one, another couple shows up. The older wife is clearly involved with the restaurant as she starts talking loudly with the manager. A employee is coming on shift, has a convo with this woman and the manager and walks off. As soon as she leaves, the woman makes a crack about how ditzy the girl was and that she was a true blonde. The girl may be ditzy, I don't know but I joked back, I'm a true blonde and not ditzy. Within a few minutes of saying this, the lead bartender walks up and says my general manager is territorial and I see her looking at your arm (whatever the hell that means), so I need you to move to the other end of the bar. At this point, it was just me, the general manager and her silent husband at the bar. The bartender could tell I didn't know what he was talking about and said I'll give you a beer. I moved a little bit in shock at what just happened and the bartender apologizes and says she's weird. I had already ordered at that point but was pretty turned off at that point, boxed my food up when it came and left. Feel bad for the employees having to deal with someone openly mocking them, then make fun of them for having blonde hair which the customer sitting next to you has. I paid, left and told the bartender to have the GM give the tip. Just wanted to relax, have a steak and watch some baseball in peace. Steaks are amazing though! read more

Typical steakhouse setting, Music playing, it wasn't crowded at all 3pm. Ordered the crab cake appetizer, Not only did I get the 2 crab cakes but a pile of crab too! The butter sauce was a nice touch! I was concerned it had red pepper flakes and talked to the server and they apparently add more pepper flakes on top, I asked them not too! It was a little spicy not too over powering! I can't wait to come back and Try something else! I am disappointed to find out the Pecan pie bread pudding with bourbon sauce and vanilla cream is no longer offered. I will have too try the carrot cake next time as well!!!! I took my wife to dinner at this Saltgrass steakhouse in College Station on Saturday. This was the best steak dinner I've had in a long time! We split a porterhouse and a bottle of wine, along with a couple of appetizers and some sides. It was so tender I hardly had to cut it away from the bone! The people were nice & the service was good. The manager came around a couple of times while we were there. The mushrooms with Parmesan were delicious. I also had the brisket queso with chips. I would have liked more of the brisket in it, but it was pretty good. The steamed broccoli was just right and the portions were all pretty generous! We had a huge slice of strawberry cheesecake for dessert. We used to go to Tad's for steak & Cajun seafood, but the prices have gone up substantially! For what we got, Saltgrass is better for the price! I was surprised. We had plenty to eat. For our special occasions, Saltgrass will be our go to place! read more
