Food was okay, service was horrible. Meet a friend there and we sat at the bar. We had to ask 5 times for some bread for our meal. Bartender then, without asking, threw the rest of my meal away. They offered to replace meal to go so we ordered an additional meal to take with us. They didn't replace the meal they threw away so we had to ask about that and of course no bread. They said let them make it right, and we waited another meal to go and I asked if she remembered the bread and she said the kitchen is closed and they aren't going to make any bread. Went here with the family last weekend for lunch... My husband tried the chicken fried steak which he said was delicious and had a very meaty flavor. My daughter ordered the cheese pizza on the kids meal which she did not like at all. My husband and I thought it tasted like cafeteria Pizza you'd get at a school. I ordered the prime rib, medium rare. It came out more like well done. It was very bland and nowhere near worth $20+. My husband tried a bite and immediately spit it out and encouraged me to send it back for something else. I forced myself to eat it rather than send it back. We also ordered the ranch Rattlers which were delicious, that was probably the best part of our meal. My husband and daughter also enjoyed the bread. Our steak turned out to be too salty that we could not eat them. So, with good intentions, the manager had their kitchen prepare new steaks for us (three orders). Extremely frustrating experience with front portion of restaurant was complete chaos. It was obvious either the manager, rraining of systems were subpar. We we told 15-20m and finally 50m later were told stuff misc. crap about reservations, big parties and other stuff. Great Service! Stop in for lunch on a Wednesday. They were pretty busy but appeared everyone worked in harmony together. Food came and I mentioned to my GF that the dish was room temp. I wasn't complaining because I know things don't always come out perfect...but our server Nicole overheard me and asked about it. I informed her that it wasn't a problem. We love this place and come quite frequently. The manager gladly made us reservations for a party of 16 for lunch on Friday after thanksgiving. She did let us know that if there were big banquets lined up, they normally wouldn't but the schedule was clear. It was kinda quiet anyway. We are a bit of a mess wherever we all go and part of our group was a half hour late. Our waiter was absolutely awesome, didn't matter to him that they were late and didn't mind bringing us lots of bread and refills . lunch was great, the service was awesome as was the food. Saltgrass is my favorite steak house. The servers are always attentive and friendly. The steaks are always cooked as ordered and very tasty. You should join the rewards program. It will pay you in free food. My only complaint is they no longer carry the steak soup. However the tortilla soup is also very good. read more

We waited for her to return and after 5 minutes I flagged down another waitress and asked for straws. Then bread was delivered. (This was one of two things that went right, the complimentary bread was delivered) We then placed our orders. #1) Grilled shrimp with salad and onion rings #2) Flounder with salad and broccoli #3) Plain cheeseburger I said bun, burger, cheese and ketchup only, with french fries #4) Urban Cowboy which is 12 oz New York Strip with Grilled Shrimp, loaded mashed potatoes and potato soup. After a very long wait because they were busy which we didn't mind, 2 salads and my bowl of cold potato soup arrived. Ok no problem, I was hungry and ate the soup. Apetizer never showed up so I flagged down the waitress and asked her to cancel it(she never put in our appetizer order) When our food finally showed up Order #1 was as ordered (the 2nd thing that went right). Order #2 was cold and came with mashed potatoes instead of broccoli. Order #3 came with lettuce tomatoes, onions, pickles, and no cheese. 100% wrong. Order #4 the shrimp were cold, the steak was cold, and it came with a baked potato instead of loaded mashed potatoes. Order #2 only the mushrooms were eaten the flounder was cold and was not eaten, #3 was sent back to the kitchen and the correct plain cheeseburger was brought out, #4 I had one bite of the steak and sent everything back. So 3 out of 4 meals were screwed up and cold. One was corrected the other 2 we just didn't eat them. Manager came by and I explained everything that went wrong and she apologized then offered us desert and that really just pissed me off. I told here I was done with my experience at Salt Grass and didn't want any desert. Hell I didn't even eat my steak. She did not charge me for my meal and discounted the rest by 50%. which we shouldn't have recieved a bill for anything in my opinion but I did not argue I just paid so we could leave and find food somewhere else. The waitress is either not trained properly or needs to be retrained. My Mother-N-Law flew in for the Holidays and I saved up in order to take my Family out for a nice dinner and we had the worst experience ever. We did not have a good experience at this restaurant. So we arrived to the location, we were seated, and when we were asked for drink orders we asked for water with lemon and were given water without lemon (which would have been fine had it been the only mistake). When we ordered, my wife requested her side salad with ranch. She received a wedge salad with vinaigrette. The only possible reason we could come up with for why that happened is that the waiter may have heard "wedge" instead of ranch, but my wife definitely did not request a blue cheese and vinaigrette wedge salad. My side salad was correct. I asked for a steak smothered, and it came out unsmothered. My wife asked for her steak to be be cooked medium well and it certainly came out medium rare. I asked mine to be cooked medium and it was cooked much more thoroughly than my wife's which was supposed to be medium-well. The flavor of the steaks was incredibly lacking as well. Definitely not worth the money. The only reason I gave more than 1 star is that even though there were screw-ups the entire night, the staff was incredibly pleasant. read more

First date dinner night out in a long time, we went to Saltgrass Steak House in Grapevine mainly because we had a $50 gift card so that was our motivation. Had eaten here way back, and based on mixed reviews were a little apprehensive. But it was unwarranted! It was a very nice experience. Walked into the bar as it was only a little after 5PM and we were greeted by Hannah. If you can eat at the bar and be waited on by Hannah, definitely recommend. A couple of her recommended Manhattans (Their Bulleit Bourbon "aged" mix) to start the night. Followed by a couple of well Manhattans (Evan Willliams 1 - not shabby but 1/3 the cost of the top shelf at happy hour!). Then we ordered dinner from the Early Dinner menu (nice smaller portions), both getting the Country Fried Steak, one with green beans and one with french fries. Also added salads, one Caesar and one House with blue cheese. The salads came out first and were great (good croutons!). The food came out hot and very tasty, green beans were grilled nicely, fries crispy. Coating on steak was fine, we didn't find it overwhelming like some of the other reviews. The Two Stars is really for the Service which was Outstanding but the Food itself was less flavorful than I had expected. Ordered Prime Rib medium rare and it was more medium well. A nice, long hair, stuck in the thick frosting of the cake we had been looking forward to, yay! Anyway. We went there on a Friday night and while it was busy we didn't wait too long. Unfortunately, we were seated in the worst table in the house, the one right on the other side of the glass where people are waiting to be seated in the lobby. Seeing people constantly come and go and gawk at you does not make for a great dining experience and why there isn't some sort of privacy glass there is beyond me. I'll just write things out in number form, it makes it easier for me to remember: 1. The waitress took our drink order and forgot about my father-in-law, even though he was sitting right next to her. 2. Our salads came out mixed up. 3. My father-in-law was forgotten again when we ordered dinner. 4. The waitress came and handed me a brochure for some sort of customer loyalty program where you pay $25 for a membership and receive SO MANY DISCOUNTS and FREE whatever on your birthday. I was appalled at the tackiness of this- can you say "corporation desperate for more money"? 5. The filet Mignon I ordered was a 1 inch tall steak, while the picture of it in the menu easily had it at 3-4 inches tall. Tasted fine but I couldn't believe how little it was. 6. Our waitress disappeared for quite some time and our kids were left without drinks for most of the meal. 7. The waitress finally showed up and noticed their drinks were empty and told us she would send the manager over. Manager came over and reiterated that she was aware of our kids not having any drinks for a long time and are they okay? I didn't really know how to respond to that whole situation: why would a manager come over for something like that? It was awkward and weird. 8. The water tasted like DIRT- literally, I almost spit it out, it was that bad. I thought it was just me until my husband told me his water also tasted like dirt and then my in-laws confirmed it, too. 9. The waitress was more interested in clearing our plates away more than anything- she actually picked a straw off of my husband's plate WHILE HE WAS STILL EATING to "just clear that up". WTF?? 10. Then the hair in the cake. Ah, isn't it lovely to find hair in a $10 slice of cake? So that went in the trash. All in all, we won't be returning and wasting our money here. I'm sorry to leave such a bad review for the Salt Grass Steakhouse in Grapevine. Even though I am from the Panhandle, my experience today was not satisfactory. I came in shortly after noon on Saturday, Sept 30th and it was not busy at all, in fact the parking lot was nearly empty. I went straight to the bar and ordered to go. The bar tender took my order, but I noticed it was 5-10 minutes before she put the order in the computer, because she asked how I want my meal cooked. I order a wine to drink while I awaited and over 30 minutes later, no order. A manager came by and asked how everything was, I asked how long would it take given the empty restaurant and she said about 10 minutes, I said that it had been 40. She appologized and then offered a free dessert which I said I had no time for, so she said "I'll take care of it". The bar tender brought the bill and I said "She said that she would take care of it". So I had the order and I headed to my car. Then the manager came running out and said my name (I don't know how she knew - I'd never given a card or my name). So I said, "I thought you were going to take care of it?", she said, "no, just the dessert". So embarrased, I came back in the restaurant and paid. It will be a long while before I return. Stopped in on a Saturday for lunch. Quickly seated, great service, and quick kitchen. The Dining room was quiet, well lit, and inviting. Large bar with plenty of seating as well. The steaks and Salmon we ordered were cooked perfectly, though a touch underseasoned for all in my group. I ordered green beans as a side and they were fried so just a heads up. The dining room was well socially distanced and the staff all wore masks as well and cleaned after each guest well. Overall I would recommend the wedge salad and the Filet but would avoid the Salmon or Sirloin as these both came under seasoned and neither were that spectacular. read more

I love this place. I've never had a bad experience at any Saltgrass, but this one happens to be my favorite. Six years ago, I came out here from California to meet this guy I met online. (Fast forward: We've been married now for four months. Yay!) Our first date happened to be at this Saltgrass. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. On our way out, we bumped into the manager and he asked how dinner had been. We told him it was great and just chatted a bit. Somehow we ended up talking about how I was visiting from California. He jokingly said I should move to Texas and gave us a coupon toward our next visit. Months later, I came back out to Texas and we went back to Saltgrass. Same great service, same great food. This past June we had our wedding rehearsal dinner here. The reservations process was very smooth and the staff was super friendly to our guests, all of whom were in from out of state. The didn't even bat an eye when my brother and his fiance showed up 45 minutes late! The seafood fondeaux is absolutely sinful. The baked potato soup and the steak soup are fantastic. My all-time favorite is the steak salad. Ohmygawd I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! I think I'm going to suggest going to dinner here tonight as soon as my husband gets home. My mother and I went here randomly. The waitress was friendly, but she wasn't too helpful with bringing out our items on time. I had to wait extra amounts of time for my lemonade and the food was definitely lukewarm. My mother wanted a salt-free seasoning, which they didn't offer so she made a suggestion to the manager about it. I feel that there should definitely should be alternatives when it comes to ordering in case you have a diet such as low sodium intake and so forth. I wasn't that thrilled with the items. My food was lukewarm, as said earlier, and it tasted kind of bland. They put a general seasoning on it and I wanted a seasoned stake but had to spice it up more with A-1. Would I eat here again?
