My mom and I came in for dinner, and while the food was fantastic, what we witnessed left a bad taste in our mouths. We were seated near a group of managers talking when a server approached them. One of the managers, a bald man I later learned was named Mike (Assistant General Manager), snapped at the server with a cold, condescending "We're talking" -- as if the server was interrupting something more important than doing his job. Another manager with dark hair then wafted the server away like he was a nuisance. It was genuinely upsetting to witness a team leader treat an employee with such disrespect -- especially in front of customers. If your conversation is that private, take it to the office. No one deserves to be spoken to that way. I shared my concern with our server, but I felt it was important to say something publicly. People like this shouldn't be leading anyone. read more

Very busy, wait was about 10 -15 minutes. We were seated and Jay, our waiter was there almost immediately, he introduced himself and took our drink order. He made it feel like we were his only table. Answering all of our questions and took our order. The managers were on the floor not just standing by, but helping where they could. My chicken was burnt to a crisp, and they spilled a drink all over my mom. We all asked for to go boxes to leave. When the check came they still tried to make us pay for the other meals. The restaurant was very crowded and loud, with servers carrying heavy trays of food and drinks right above customers' heads. Overall, it was a terrible experience. read more

I love salt grass I have come to this location numerous times over the years, this is mines and my family go to place for a good lunch-dinner. I enjoy being a Landry select club member, it really is nice being called by your last name while dining. Since coming to this location quite a bit over the years things have changed as far as menu items go which is typical for major restaurants to switch up and add new items or remove items. I can say there is a couple of items I really do miss that salt grass has taken off is the corn bread, hot Louisiana chicken sandwich, the chicken and sausage combo, coconut shrimp not sure why these good items was taken off. you can refer to my photos. For the steaks We have tried the wagon boss, pats ribeye, New York strip, bacon wrapped fillet, gulf coast steak had it either smothered or top with onions at times I must say the wagon boss is my favorite cut very delicious good amount of fat I like it medium well so it's cooked to perfection. For the sides our favorites are the fries, sweet potato fries, Mac n cheese, and mash but the top choice would be the mash. Other menu favorites of ours is the grilled chicken, chicken fried steak or chicken such good southern classics, the chicken is always juicy and delicious portion is big and that's good! The only things I can complain about is the service can be a hit or miss depending who's your server there's been times where we get exceptional service and times where our server is ghost and no where to be found, not sure when that happens do they go on break?, also the house bread that is complementary is a bit dry the last few times I feel this bread can be updated.
