I rate this restaurant a 4 because my steak was good; some of the other food was not. My husband and I dined here with friends. I had a good virgin strawberry daiquiri. My husband said the restaurant had only 3 beers on tap, and he thought they were all dumb. The bread was plain boring soft-crusted whole wheat bread. The rattlers came with shrimp and jalapeño. The onion rings were thin and crispy. My garden salad was ordinary. My steak was very tender and good. My "smoked" macaroni and cheese was ordinary and did not taste smoked. We always try to come to Laughlin for my birthday and it is a must to eat at Salt Grass! Another birthday, another delicious Salt Grass meal! As usual, our meals were perfection! Literally the best thing I had in Laughlin. Period. The food in this city is lacking but don't let that take away from the good food offered here. We came here on Thanksgiving but opted to order from the regular menu. I ate everything on my plate. Their Cesar salad was good (made sure it wasn't made with romaine) and the steak was tasty. Kid friendly!! Kids menu attached cause I couldn't find anywhere! Lots of options! Delish!! Decent prices for a steak house. On a side note, the wedge salad is well worth the upgrade!!! So good and huge!! Felt like 1/2 a reg sized head of lettuce! All 3 steaks in our party cooked to our preference, no issues with bad cuts. Homemade ranch really good! I'm on vacation so I get to eat as much steak as I want!!!! I don't wanna hear nothing about my cholesterol level of fat is bad for you!!! By the time I hit Laughlin I was on my 5th or 6th steak house - I'm good with that! With road bugs between my teeth, Nevada dust in my hair and Arizona red dirt between my toes I didn't feel like getting all gussy up for a fancy steakhouse. Then I heard about Saltgrass, a casual place to get a great steak! You know, one of those joints that when you order a steak entrée you also get sides with it instead of just the steak and the sides are another 20 bucks. It turned out Saltgrass by the time I got to a orderin' I had an hankerin' for Pork Chop and what a great pork chop it was. I'd say it beat most of the fancy schmancy restaurants that I ate at during my road trip. The chop was flavorful and tender and the side were ok too. We order some fried mushrooms for appetizer and it was out of this world. Ok, I confess, I stayed away from fried foods this road trip so maybe that had influenced my palette. This was our last dinner of the road trip and I was glad to be able to relax in a casual atmosphere where I didn't have to talk to our waiter with a British accent, pretend to spend money like it grew off trees and be embarrassed about picking my nose. In fact, the waiter was very friendly we ended up in a conversation on how an Asian guy (him) ended up in Laughlin. Next time? Ever since eating at this place in Texas I was excited to see they opened here. I wish they would open in Vegas! I told everyone how good the food is and how they all needed to try it. We ended up going here with our Son and his Girlfriend. Talk about great food, it is right on the Colorado River. This place by no means is a cheap steak house. You get what you pay for. Service is excellent, the steak is amazing! It is a must try place if you never been here. Its great for a special Occasion for a nice meal. It reinforced me telling everyone how good it was we all enjoyed it. Being in the casino I am sure there are nights they get really busy we happen to hit it lucky and got there just after they opened. One of the best places in Laughlin. The service is a bit slow, but your in Laughlin! Slow down and enjoy. I don't think the food is the best, but for Laughlin it's great. The steak has a few chewy and not best quality sections, but it was cooked well. The baked potato was good, but nothing special. What makes this place is the drinks. The margarita with beer is great. Recently had a birthday party of eight for an early dinner. The hostess and staff were very accommodating for such a large group. We can't say enough good things about the service, drinks, appetizers and food. I had the best Tito's dirty martini I've ever had. One cautionary note: don't overdue the appetizers as they are big and will most likely result in you taking some of your dinner home in a to go box! We go here a lot especially for special occasions. We had a group of 16 and they have seated us at the same table every time in the past , but couldn't pull it off today ??? This visit they separated our group. Service was nothing to write home about for sure , especially when it came to paying our bill. The server messed up tremendously on our tickets. We went during the week and we made reservations. When we got there and we still had to wait, yet other customers who also had 6:15 p.m. reservations like we did were seated before us yet they arrived after us. First thing I noticed was how warmly he greeted us when he first came to the table. He was prompt, courteous, funny and engaging!! He saw that I was wearing a Seattle Seahawks shirt and we start chatting and turns out he's also from a Washington State!! We chat some more and come to realize that my best friend that just passed away a few months ago was his high school football coach. Our first time at Saltgrass Steakhouse in Laughlin and it did not disappoint ! Our server Charles was top notch - very attentive , friendly , and knowledgeable about the menu! My husband enjoyed the Urban Cowboy - New York strip steak medium rare with grilled shrimp on top and a loaded baked potato. I enjoyed the grilled salmon with herbed rice and we both had a dinner salad. Plates were the perfect temperature for each dish, all food was made to perfection! Cocktails were also amazing! Oh we also splurged on dessert and had the huge piece of carrot cake that we brought home to nibble on later! Service, food and the whole experience was just perfect! Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. Located downstairs at the Golden Nugget.  We arrived a few minutes before it opened and there were people already waiting (good sign!) The restaurant feels a bit small and the decor is on the old side but very clean and very comfortable with a great staff. The restaurant boasts nice views of the Colorado River. Our entrees included choice of salad or soup. I had the chicken tortilla soup and my husband had the salad. Both were good. Complimentary bread was okay. We ordered 12 oz. ribeye with baked potato, and sirloin with coconut shrimp with baked potato and we added a side of brussel sprouts. Everything was very good. Service was very attentive.  The manager was on the floor helping out and talking to customers.  Recommend getting a table by the window for ultimate view of the beautiful Colorado River. The place is not super upscale it is casual. The food is amazing tasty! You must try the jalapeno shrimp poppers they were so spicy, crispy, and yummy. I ordered the filet cut medium well and it was made perfect. Very moist with gourmet steak taste. The free complimentary bread is made with Steinbock beer and it is something else! We ordered two for the table. Our server was really great and added a dessert for the birthday we celebrated. I will come back here again next year on my annual Laughlin trip. read more

The WORST, I can't say that enough. The steak was cooked completely wrong twice. I'm not picky, if it's close I'll eat it. It was purple inside and burned on the outside. Sent it back, it was more burnt on the outside and bleeding on inside. I ask for a new steak, never got it. I told them we were leaving. They accused us of theft!!!! We never ATE! Second time here and second outstanding meal! Great waiter in Isaiah and great service overall. They have an off the menu item sometimes which is lobster tails and these had to be some of the biggest lobster tails I have ever seen at a restaurant chain. The wife ate every single bite! And being a wine snob I am impressed with their overall wine list and the prices. The Duckhorn wine we purchased came out at the correct temperature, (again me being a snob), and was amazing! This is now our favorite place to eat here in Laughlin, from getting seated to paying our bill it was a pleasant experience. Our server Manual was welcoming, pleasant and available. The atmosphere , the room temperature, the service and just to see servers happy to serve you is what we need more of now a days. Not a fan of beer bread, but that is a personal choice. Salad and tea served right away and tasted very good. Meal served immediately after salad was finished. Double boned pork chop was outstanding. Called to make a reservation since my party will be large 20-25 and was told no reservations during the weekend. This is odd they would give up the possibility of a large tab.
