    Original Chopped Steak

We had a nice early dinner here. The service was friendly and fast. Lots of menu choices. We enjoyed the Laredo chicken, though it was more toppings than chicken. The steak tips were also good, along with the side salad and baked potato. I would definitely not recommend the Long Island iced tea. Great $7 price, but just a bag mix with no discernible alcohol in it.

So my first few times here, I was not impressed however, this last visit was exceptional. I guess I just finally found the right menu item. I highly recommend the shrimp platter and Brussel sprouts. They do brussel sprouts amazingly well. Service is good. Nothing exceptional and our booth smelled off. I think some larger sweaty people must have sat there before us and they weren't cleaned well after. In the summer months- wiping the booths down better is necessary! The bread always tastes stale and old. Between the bread and stinky booth I took off a star.

Great experience overall at Saltgrass Steak House in Liberty. Bartender Emily was incredible. She was attentive, friendly, and always on top of things. I never went thirsty, her menu suggestions were excellent, and she connected on a personal level, which really stood out. She even took a moment to compliment my new ink. She is exactly what you want from a Saltgrass server. One of the things I really appreciate about Saltgrass is the consistency across locations. The menu has a wide variety of options, and everything we ordered was cooked perfectly. The bar setup was well thought out, with menus and silverware already at every seat, which made settling in easy without having to ask for anything. Parking at Liberty Commons was free and easy, which was a nice bonus. The only downsides were minor facility issues. The temperature at the bar fluctuated a lot. It was extremely hot at first and then suddenly very cold, so the HVAC did not seem well balanced. Also, the water pressure in the men's restroom was almost nonexistent, which is not great when it comes to handwashing. That said, the restaurant itself was clean. Overall, a very solid visit with excellent service, and I would absolutely return, especially if Emily is behind the bar.

Chris and I are visiting Brian in Liberty and it was getting closer to dinner time so I told the boys were going to Saltgrass because I was craving my usual Blackened Redfish. The place is huge (love the ambiance!) but they were so busy with a wait time of 20 minutes when I called so we decided we'll sit at the bar. We came into the side door and found a newly empty table so we sat ourselves down. Joey was quick to clear the table and handed us menus. I ordered my usual, Chris ordered the Chopped Steak and Brian had the Prime Rib. Our food came in shortly. When Joey stopped by to check on us, I jokingly asked if somebody bit half of my shrimp. He said, "Oh, I don't know." A few minutes later, he came back and handed me a small plate with 5 big shrimps! He went above and beyond and a mile more! He was just amazing! He talked us into trying the Pumpkin Cheesecake so I asked for one to go. Oh man, it was delicious! Saltgrass continues to be one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always good and the staff are always friendly and attentive.

The inside of a Rattler appetizer

I'm was in Kansas City and craving a good ribeye. So glad we decided on this place! Steak was grilled to the perfect temperature. Man, you gotta try their Rattlers appetizer, amazing!!

Now you're just another steakhouse that I used to know .... I will say this back when this place first opened I went and was incredibly happy with my experience the portions were great the service was great and I had no complaints (probably why I forgot to do a review and yeah that's on me) This time however it has changed from the last time I went maybe 6 months ago which was still decent. Let's break it down, first I went on Fathers day which gives them a pass on some stuff normally but even though it was a holiday it was only mildly busy and the length of time it took to get out food was absurd. We were there with plenty of open tables (and some large parties which i know slows the kitchen down a tad) and we ended up being her for over 2 hours. The complimentary bread was forgotten about which honestly wasn't a big deal as I forgot it was a thing until I saw our server take 2 of them to a table that already had one sitting there. When we finally got our food we noticed a few issues that we were too hungry to complain about at that point. 1. The filet oscar was tough and had the texture of a sirloin despite being prepared Mid Rare (which is the appropriate temperate you monsters that go anything above medium) 2. The fried cheese and the fried asparagus was definitely either burnt or had old oil we couldn't tell but it was at least noticeable. 3. The Wedge salad no longer resembles a wedge which if memory serves correct it's literally a quarter of a iceberg cut like you would quarter an orang or an apple (hence the price hop) but what i got was a slice of a head of lettuce laying on its side sad and small ... at least it tasted alright. Now lets jump to service ... it was fine I guess, he got our order right and was likable but certainly not easily found when he didn't want to be and that led to delays in some requests. I chalk this up to us having kids with us... I get it nobody likes kids knows a restaurant but they were mild compared to kids I dealt with in my service days. And finally atmosphere... for a cozy steak house the are we were in was loud. Like I have to speak up to be heard loud and we weren't near the bar so im not entirely sure if that's the new normal or just the obnoxious table of the loaves of bread folks next to us Either way in the end this place has dropped to being just another steak house in the area and is no better than your Texas roadhouse or whatever random chain you have.

Food was amazing! I recommend the country fried steak with the gravy on the side (it can get a little overwhelming). The service was absolutely amazing and the drinks and food came out lickety-split. Beautiful ambience as well very rustic and fits the Saltgrass mood.

I love the loaded mashed potatoes and my steak was cooked to perfection. My sister planned an outing with good friends for lunch, but we all practically just ordered off the dinner menu. It was definitely worth every penny. The service was spectacular as well. And the atmosphere was quiet.

Stopped in here after flying in to meet some friends. The drinks were good, the food was delicious, the service was great, & the restaurant was clean. Would visit here again!

The best steak salad IPA combo post meal.

Epic Meal Review: Saltgrass Steak House - Steak Salad + Voodoo Ranger IPA Combo After a 13-hour haul from the scenic Blue Ridge of Asheville, NC to the quiet charm of Liberty, MO, I rolled into Saltgrass Steak House running on fumes and fast food fatigue. What I got instead was a five-star steak salad, an ice-cold IPA, and the kind of service that makes you believe in hospitality again. The Center-Cut Top Sirloin Steak Salad is a straight-up flavor symphony. Tender, juicy sirloin cooked to perfection over crisp romaine, with roasted potatoes, hard-boiled eggs, flash-fried green beans (genius), black olives, onions, tomatoes, and just the right amount of blue cheese crumbles. That balsamic vinaigrette? A bold, tangy finish that brought it all home. It wasn't a salad--it was a steakhouse masterpiece in a bowl. Then came the Voodoo Ranger IPA, and it was everything a road-weary soul could ask for: crisp, hoppy, refreshing, and exactly what you want to sip when you've crossed three states and are finally ready to kick back. But here's where it went from great to unforgettable: Enter Enrique the Just--a man who doesn't just manage, he orchestrates an experience. Calm, confident, and cool as a mountain stream. He made sure everything was smooth, the vibes were right, and you could tell he takes pride in the place. A quiet legend. And then, there's Hannah the Bartender--honestly, she deserves her own review. Sharp, friendly, fast with a pour and even faster with a laugh. She knew exactly what to recommend, kept the energy light and welcoming, and had that rare mix of genuine warmth and bartender wisdom that makes you feel like you've been coming there for years--even if it's your first time. Final Verdict: Incredible food. Ice-cold beer. Five-star service. Saltgrass in Liberty, MO turned a tired roadtrip pit stop into a straight-up highlight reel. Ask for Enrique. Sit at Hannah's bar. Order the sirloin salad and a Voodoo. You'll thank me later.

Their retirement is well deserved, but their touch is definitely missed. I believe a family member has taken over the Liberty location, and unfortunately, the taste, portions, and overall quality just aren't the same. I was so disappointed when I got home to eat. The pho lacked flavor, the meat was well-done instead of tender, and there weren't even any jalapeños included. The crab rangoon was even more disappointing. It used to be creamy, flavorful, and generously filled -- something I genuinely loved. This time, it felt like I was eating a fried wonton with the faintest hint of something resembling cheese. Barely any filling at all. It's 100% changed. The staff was very pleasant, which made it harder to write this review. I truly hope they can bring back the quality and consistency that made this place special -- especially in Liberty, where customers know good food and expect it. I'm rooting for them, but this visit really missed the mark.
