Our dining experience was very disappointing. We were a party of five, and several issues occurred throughout the meal. First, one of the salads was prepared incorrectly, and then one of the potatoes was also wrong. The chicken fried steak was extremely dry, and the steak that was ordered medium rare came out medium well. It took quite a while for the replacement steak to arrive -- in fact, the rest of the table had already finished eating by the time it was served. When the check arrived, the server told us we were not being charged for the replacement steak. However, the ticket showed two steaks listed, with one later removed. When we questioned this, the server again stated that we were not charged for the remake. I have never heard of a customer being expected to pay for a steak that had to be remade due to an incorrect order. read more

Tammy and I are back at this Saltgrass location in Sherwood, which is decorated in a Western theme like all Saltgrass restaurants. We always have a great experience here and today was no different. Tammy had a medical procedure that had her NPO since the day before, and she was getting a little hungry. We arrived at lunch time, but they were not too busy, and we were seated quickly. Lana, our server was great! She was very friendly and attentive, and she helped us make good selections. We were interested in the Range Rattler appetizer, which are large jalapeños stuffed with a shrimp and cheese and covered with caramelized onions. Lana told us that we could get them grilled instead of fried. Great option and a little less calories, maybe. For entrees, Tammy had the Grilled Salmon with Asparagus, and I had the Blackened Redfish with Steamed Broccoli. Both entrees were excellent and prepared well. I was at this location on 10/13 as a guest with a large group. While the service was excellent, the food was not. I had potato soup which wasn't even warm and less than 5 minutes after soup and salads were served, they brought our entrees. No one had even barely eaten their salad! Everything on the plate wasn't even warm. The bread was cold and hard. The mashed potatoes were almost cold. My salmon tasted great but it was not even warm so not enjoyable at all. The three servers that assisted all of us were quick and prompt with getting our drink orders. They delivered breads, drinks, and salads very quickly as well. TLDR: Having a reservation means nothing to them. Made a valentines date reservation at the North Little Rock location. Arrived on time to find out that "they were too busy to honor reservations and it would be a thirty minute wait". You have to fill out a phone number to make a reservation. 10 February 2025 I made a reservation for two for 5pm on Valentines Day. We arrived at 4:55, walked in and were told that it would be at least 60 minutes due to them dealing with a lot of walkins and we would have to wait. I told we had reservations at 5, and her response was that we would have to wait. My question is why have a reservation list if they're not going to honor that option. I ordered the country fried steak with chicken tortilla soup and broccoli. The soup was bland, no seasoning with mush for vegetables, the broccoli was half raw with no seasoning. The steak looked great until you cut into it. it was mostly breading without seasoning. Salt and pepper wouldn't even help it. We arrived as a party of four and were quickly seated. The drink orders were prompt along with all service from the waitress. She totally rocked and was extremely pleasant, her name is Aurora. We ordered the fried onions as a appetizer. We each ordered a salad (3 house and 1 Caesar). Entrees and sides were: 12 ounce New York strip, med rare, and French fries Salmon with broccoli 12 ounce Ribeye, med rare, baked potato 8 ounce sirloin, med rare and sweet potato The fried onions were not greasy, very crispy, but very lukewarm. The salads were great. The steaks were all cool/lukewarm. The butter that was placed on each steak didn't even melt. They were cooked appropriately. A really nice medium rare, but all steaks were served cool. The fries were COLD....not even lukewarm. The sweet potato wouldn't melt the cinnamon butter, and the baked potato was also lukewarm. We did ask about why and Aurora did go speak with the manager. She came back and said that the manager told her that "Due to the fact that the steaks were ordered medium rare, butter won't melt on them because the center is cool." Now, I have been to A LOT of steak places, from St. Elmo's, Flemings, Sullivan's, Ruth's Chris, on the high end to Texas Roadhouse, Outback, etc. This is the first time in 50 years I've been given an excuse that was this incredibly lame. We told them that the food was good, but that it was lukewarm. We weren't asking for any discount, but wanted them to be aware. It's basically inexperienced kitchen staff that needs to work on timing the entrees and sides and maybe a bit faster pickup. I know we are living in a current Covid situation and help is hard to find, but take the feedback to improve and don't give an insanely stupid excuse to the consumer. Also would be nice if the manager would have actually come from the back to inquire and follow up after the message delivered by the waitress.
