Last Saturday, my family and I went out to eat at Saltgrass Steak House and had an amazing experience. Our waitress, Dedra (I hope I'm spelling her name correctly), was absolutely wonderful and made our evening even more enjoyable. The food was excellent! We ordered the New York strip steak, baked potato, and Caesar salad, and everything was cooked perfectly. Between the outstanding service and the delicious meal, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The service and atmosphere were both on point, but the cuisine was disappointing. There was five people in my party, three of which ordered steak. One of which ordered blackened redfish. Those four dishes for my party were overcooked. That tells me the cook wasn't paying attention and whoever is supposed to be checking the food at the pass before it's served to the customer isn't paying attention either. All three steaks were overcooked and dry. One of the steaks was supposed to be a filet, but I don't believe what was served was actually a filet. I could've had the same quality of steak from the buffet at Golden Corral. The redfish was lacking texture because it was overcooked and dry, save for the sauce that was drizzled over the top of it. Someone needs to tell the chef that prevent the meat from overcooking while it rests, remove it from the heat when it's about 5°F - 10°F below the target final temperature. Once that piece of meat hits the plate, it will continue to cook. So, if you've cooked it to medium and then set it on the plate, that steak is now fit for the trash because it's overcooked. I didn't bother sending anything back to be refired because it should've came out right the first time. One dish missing the mark is understandable, but four? Really? Four dishes for the same table? The quality of the food you serve should be a reflection of the menu pricing. When your quality is less than that of Texas Roadhouse or Longhorn Steakhouse, but your pricing is greater by a significant margin, it's a glaring indication that management is out of touch with reality. I can't say that I'll be back and that's a shame because other Saltgrass locations I've dined at hit all the marks every time I've been there. Do better. read more

For the main course - our food was cold and the steak was way way overcooked. However- the manager gave us a discount, that we didn't ask for. Talked over anything we said, treated us badly, didn't know the menu, never offered us refills (we finally waved him down in the kitchen area and asked him), flirted openly with other wait staff instead of taking care of tables and only paid attention to us when it was time to pay. I consider myself an easy customer. I usually come in by myself and hardly need refill on anything. One of my pet peeves when it comes to service is I expect the same service as provided to someone sitting nearby. Thus, it's really confusing to me when we both ordered the same things and we both wanted bread and butter, I ended up not getting mine and the person sitting nearby got his. Now on to the steaks, I could not find anything on their website except they serve certified angus beef steaks. A different website states that they use USDA Choice grade beef for all their steaks and this is likely due to the price. A 16 oz ribeye entree that comes with a side and a soup or salad costs around $35, a pretty average price. Seasoning is lighter at Longhorn than at other steakhouses, i.e. less salty. Medium rare is a little more on the rarer side, but this is much better than being overcooked. They say you pay for what you get. At Longhorn, for an average price, you get an average steak. And for this reason, Longhorn gets an average review. read more

Saltgrass has declined in quality of food. Their steaks use to by nice and thick. They are thin now. (Ribeye) the tables are way too close to each other. Upon exiting, the two brick steps out front need to be painted yellow at the edge. There is no separation to the eye. This is a HIGH fall risk factor. read more

I was there last Saturday afternoon and after explaining my food allergies (gluten, dairy, poultry, eggs), I had to send the salad back 3 Times because it had cheese on it the first time, drowning in dairy-based dressing the second time, and had cheese on it the third time. As I was sending my third salad back, my Entree' was set in front of me with a huge dollop of butter on my rib-eye! I told the manager I did NOT want anything else from that kitchen because I couldn't trust any food at Saltgrass! After that, we were not even comped for meal! I visited this restaurant on Friday April 12th [2024] around 9pm. I was with a large group (about 10 people) as we were celebrating a friend's birthday. This was my first time at any Saltgrass restaurant and everything went about as well as expected. I arrived early and ordered a water from the barkeep. The ambiance was very typical of a southern-themed steakhouse - old-timey decorations, low lighting, brick, wood, framed photos, antlers, flags, longhorns, etc. Very expected but very comforting. I was immensely surprised at the lack of occupancy given the day and time. About 15mins later, the rest of the party arrived. We were led to our table where we were handed menus and eventually water. The menus were tall and offered every ranch-style American dish conceivable. I was impressed at the variety offered, very atypical with traditional steakhouses. The tables did offer bread & butter which is always a plus. I ended up choosing the Double-Bone Pork Chop with Green Beans and a House Salad. I also ordered a cocktail: Bourbon Old Fashioned which did not disappoint. Though we were conversing amongst ourselves, the plates took a bit to arrive. When they did, there were mixed reviews around the table. Everyone seemed to like their main course but the side dishes were up for debate. As for me, I enjoyed the Pork Chop. It was firm, juicy, and grilled excellently. The green beans were on the firm side but not terrible in my taste, just needed some seasoning! While the house salad was what you'd expect. Overall, I like the feel and offerings of Saltgrass but I didn't have the best of experience. Unfortunately, the biggest blemish on my/our experience was the service. Though we were a large party with children, we often felt unattended to; having to ask for water refills, never receiving additional bread, wondering the whereabouts of our server, guessing when the plates would arrive, etc. I try to be reasonable but I don't believe that we were demanding or impatient. We had a large party and they put a new waitress with us, we understand that there is a longer wait, there may be mistakes, but three people's orders were never put in it. It took them an hour and a half to get salads out to us. We got appetizers five minutes before we got food not everybody got food half of us had food orders that were messed up or missing sides or premium upgrades like shrimp and instead of sending someone experienced over to help salvage it, the manager actually helping out he was hiding behind the glass watching everything fall apart, they started to be rude to us and proceeded to not understand how to separate tickets. We had the tickets separated and asked about at least two or three times during the meal and then we spent over 25 minutes trying to separate them again and takeoff what we didn't receive, and it was an awful experience the worst dinner I've ever had in my life. I had the pleasure to attend a birthday party at Saltgrass Steakhouse. I arrived on Sunday at 6:00 and noticed plenty of parking with wheel chair ramps for handicap customers. I was greeted by the Hostess and taken to a table set for twenty customers. The restaurant appeared clean with a pleasant atmosphere. All of the staff was dressed in nice uniforms and conducted themselves very professionally. Our waitress first brought us a loaf of bread with butter and drinks.
