Loved my salad and dishes so much I had to try and make it back at home!! Unfortunately my culinary skills were not at the same level but it turned out delicious anyways! I came by here with friends who live nearby and will stop by here again on my next visit. Very local vibe and attentive staff.

Veal pappardelle with ricotta and fried sage. Rich, creamy and super filling. Lovely with a glass of wine.

I honestly do not know why we had not tried Saltoro sooner, but we're hooked. A restaurant buddy said it was one of their favorites and I can see why. The interior sets the mood; warm, relaxed, casual but with some definite style. I think they even had a fire going. Nice. Good place for a date. Our server set the mood with a warm welcome and drinks came quickly while we looked over the menu. I had heard the food was good but I was very pleased with the pricing on the menu--especially after our entrees came. I'd heard the roast chicken was great but opted for the pappardelle and was rewarded. Super rich and velvety, it was a perfect accompaniment to my glass of wine. Hubby's halibut was terrific and we both agreed we were remiss in not coming to Saltoro sooner. The fallen chocolate cake was great--perfect cap to the evening. We'll return for drink just to test drive the bar which looked pretty cool.

4.5 stars! Very cozy, homey exterior. PACKED on a Saturday night. Been wanting to try this spot for a while! There were many amazing sounding dishes on their seasonal menu such as a rack of lamb and duck cassoulet. Tried Seasonal Drinks: Mexican Penicillin ($12), Holiday Sparkler ($9.5). I liked these! They are nothing fancy though. Mains -Butternut Squash Ravioli ($16) - as with all typical ravioli dishes this only came with 3 raviolis, but that sauce was INSANE! Super creamy with a hint of almond-y sweetness, perhaps from the amaretti cookies. Loved the fresh mushrooms on top too. -Pappardelle ($18) - Also great, with a rich/creamy/meaty sauce. I'm not sure if the pastas are fresh but they sure tasted like it! Sides -Brussel Sprouts ($8): Delicious! Loved the sweetness. They are sauteed, not roasted. -Mashed Potatoes ($5): A small side, nice and garlicky. Food was a tad slow as well as our orders being taken, but given it was completely packed that's totally understandable!

Our food in the takeout containers. Braised short rib and Roasted Half chicken

Delivery only review: My husband I frequently ate at Saltoro, but there were several menu changes and the food quality seemed to go down. Their service wasn't great either. So we stopped going. Fast forward about four years... and since it was our anniversary, we decided to order in a 'fancy' meal, because we just didn't feel like going out. And although we had stopped going to Saltoro we gave them another shot. And I'm so glad we did, because our meal was delicious. I ordered the roasted half chicken and my husband got the braised short rib... and everything was so yummy. The short rib was so tender and the sauce that accompanied it was delicious. The roasted chicken was so good and the mushrooms that came with it were amazing. Our only complaint was that the sauces kind of disappeared from the takeout boxes, and the portions were a little on the small side (they look bigger in photos). But the food was so tasty, we've decided it's time to try eating at Saltoro again!

Wonderful food. Full bar, but a comfortable family-friendly environment. One of my favorities in the North Seattle neighborhood.

    Is Saltoro wheelchair accessible?

Yes, there is a back door on 143rd that is wheelchair accessible. It's marked, near the intersection with Greenwood.

Do they take reservations? I don't see it as an option on their website, here on Yelp, or Open Table

I think they only do reservations for parties of 6 or more. . .

Would this be a good option for a first date? Also, any idea if this place is vegan friendly? thanks!

I tried the gluten-free trailblazer cookie, and it was absolutely delicious. Loved all the additions to it to make it a more robust cookie. I hadn't been back since a previous bad experience almost a year ago now and wanted to give this place another try. Same bad service. The bad service I received almost a year ago that made me stop coming to this place was I stopped by for lunch and got a grilled pork banh mi and asked for little to no/ very light mayo or whatever spread is on it as the visit before was too much for me and wanted to avoid that... Staff wasn't friendly that day. When I was eating the sandwich instead of little to no mayo it had globs like no exaggeration a lot/too much mayo spread for me so I did tear off a piece of the bread that I couldn't get the mayo off of and tried to take off the other globs and continued eating. I did not waste food. I just wasted the globs and a small piece of bread. I bussed my own table as that seems to be un clear if you do or don't and put the trash in the trash(globs of mayo +piece of bread) and plate near the counter. A staff member exited the kitchen and walks towards the register near the trash can and she proceeded to open the trash can and keep it open, looked at me and asked how was everything. I was honest and told her I always enjoy the food however today too much mayo and she just kept peering down at my trash in the trash and then her coworker exited the kitchen to join the convo and no sorry or anything...just kept her foot on the trash to keep it open and both employees looked at the trash and looked at me rudely so I told them thank you have a nice day and was off put by the experience. They were treating me like I was wasting or complaining. It was truly so weird like why keep the trash open and almost like try to embarrass me or treat me like I did something wrong? Also why no smiles, why no empathy. I don't like mayo..big deal! I still ate that whole sandwich! Recent visit on 06/06/26. Walked in and cafe wasn't busy, but trash on the floors and dirty tables. Two women. One seemed to be in training. No smiles, no welcome in, just a frown (no joke the woman training the other I believe was frowning and she looked mad) and a what can I get you? I ordered for dine in but was given to go box and to go utensils. I have to assume they just didn't want to do the dishes as one couple had dine in plates and were actually pointing to each other the trash on the floor and discussing their meal. I ordered the pho banh mi so I wouldn't have to worry about a mayo situation tbh. Food was flavorful and good. Portions seem to be a bit smaller than what I remember. If they added actual pho to the menu I bet it would be a hit! To-go ordering seems the popular thing here and if I return is what I'll do. Just sad as this used to be my fav spot but now I've found a better place with better service and food. Drinks here and food is super tasty but wish service, cleanliness, and atmosphere could be improved! Service is important and with my past two visits I feel it's a very unwelcoming atmosphere with the staff being hostile and cold and cafe seating indoors and outdoors are dirty. For me when spending my money somewhere I don't want to be treated poorly or like I'm an inconvenience or just being tolerated. The service leaves such a bad impression that it makes me avoid this place now when I used to recommend it.
