They explained everything on my initial phone call, then when I called back to schedule the service they reviewed everything. Bradley called me the day of service to let me know he was on his way. He greeted me and was friendly and polite during his visit. He and his partner looked at my existing water heater, explained the work needed to bring it up to code and gave me a new quote. My water heater in the attic was due for replacement. Found the model I want from Home Depot site and the referral for installation was a simple process. Within an hour someone from Same Day Water Heaters contacted me and provided an initial quote. They were very transparent saying that there could be additional charges depending on whether any additional change is needed to bring the installation up to code. The technicians came with proper IDs and wearing masks. They were very knowledgeable and courteous, gave me a final quote in writing and were able to do the work in 2 hours. Quality service and quality plumber. I got the hot water tank installed and removed of old one. Had a leak behind the water tank.. plumber cut drywall replaced several pipes that were leaking. Plumber asked me if I knew what system that I had was. I told him the plumber that installed. It said, it was a hard water softener.. I learned that it was a filter, not a water softener. was installed by Lawton plumbing company. was not filtering through the whole system. They were only filtering it back to the tank. He had to fix that . filter it through the house and then he had to change the configuration of the pipe they didn't have it right when filtration system when initially put into house. He said if I went to Home Depot and got a hard water softener, he would put it in. drove to Home Depot and got a hard water softener and the plumber put it in.. Not only that I feel like I got a quality service. he fixed what another licensed plumber did that was wrong. he explained to me what he was doing. he came out and install the toilet and replaced the seal underneath. that had rusted and broke. Took away the old toilet .I will definitely use this company this plumber again. I do not have confidence in any companies in Lawton Oklahoma.. specifically Pippin brothers that did this initially that he had to fix. read more

I'd like to start by saying the 2 plumbers who came out were fast, efficient, and courteous. Now let me tell you why I'm leaving a 1 star rating. For the same reason as the other posters with low reviews. It was a bait and switch, you're calling for same day because you likely have a plumbing emergency as we did. I have 7 charges for parts Part SDWH Price Homedepot Price Drip pan: $84 $23 Gas Valve: $85 $12 GasFlexLine: $85 $27 (Part of kit including water lines) Water line: $65 --- Included in kit above Water Valve: $85 $18 Gas Sed trap: $75 $14 City Permit: $105 $65 (Called the City, fee is not 105) Removal of part of my existing exhaust pipe to account for taller water heater: $150 Replacement of existing pipe with PVC: $150 That's a total of $884 or an upcharge of $725 ASSUMING all the "bring it up to code" is true. I'm beginning to doubt this based on what other posters are saying. Again this is a predatory practice on the part of Same Day Water Heaters and I fully intend to file a complaint with the BBB. I suggest other posters do the same. You'll have zero impact posting to this forum but at least with the BBB other companies, like Home Depot can be wary of doing business with a company that blatantly preys on customers who are already in a bad situation. A final note in case Same Day Water Heaters chimes in about "We force you to use our parts so we can warrant the work". A 1 year warranty on parts and labor does not justify the markups listed above and has nothing to do with changing parts which don't need changing nor up-charging for a city permit. read more

Very pleased with the plumbers and install - no issues. Install took less about an hour. VERY disappointed with the upcharge on parts. My estimate for replacement was $804 + parts. I mentioned that i had purchased parts from Home Depot, which the SDWH rep acknowledged. Turns out they didn't use my parts and had a SIGNIFICANT upcharge on their parts (i.e. 2 gal expansion tank $229 vs. $41). The total part charge was $539. I will not use them again. read more

The only reason I docked them a star was because I believe their installation cost was too high. I own the house where my daughter lives in another town. Her water heater broke. She was told and I was told that her appointment would be at 9:00. I stay home because I have to pay by phone the installation fee. Then my daughter calls and is told that no one would have told us that because everyone knows that the appointments are 9 to 1. Not clear at all. I find it very very coincidental that we would have gotten the same call center person and that each one of us would have been told the same thing. APPOINTMENT AT 9. THE GREAT WATER HEATER RIP-OFF I had heard about companies charging excessive fees for water heater replacement, so when mine quit working, I was determined to find a reputable company to install a new one. Since I'm a Home Depot customer, often once or twice a week, I naturally went to them first. BIG MISTAKE. After glowing reviews from their appliance managers, I called this installer (Same Day Water Heaters) and received a firm quote on purchase, install, permit and tax. There was absolutely no qualification(s) from the representative on the unit I wanted and what it would cost to install it. However, the final bill was a whopping $884 above my "firm" quote. The two other companies I contacted refused to quote the job until they sent someone out to look at my location. I should have used one of them, but time was a huge factor since we had no hot water at the house. No doubt, this is exactly what these companies were counting on. The chargers were obviously determined in advance since they included the replacement of parts that were not required to be replaced, according to the city inspector. Obviously, they wanted me to accept the false bid instead of telling me what the charges were, up front. I was told- falsely- that the existing 1/2 inch gas line had to be changed out to ¾ inch line to meet code. Other parts that were in 'like new condition' were replaced and I was over charged in some instances. For example, I was charged for 5 feet of drain pipe when only two feet was replaced using PVC instead of the existing copper pipe. When I complained to the installers that I was being overcharged, they agreed; then said, "but we have to feed our families". I believe this constitutes deceptive trade practices: providing a firm quote and then not honoring the quote; then adding on unnecessary parts to 'jack-up' the install totals. I agreed to allow the install only because of false and deceptive information from the installers. This firm touts "Honesty" on their website, but I do not believe they are honest. So, my suggestion is twofold: avoid this company and never, ever use a Home Depot installer! read more

Red flag , was told while in store that water heater install was one price . Ask for person to come out to give estimate Because notice people state they up charge in person. All day receiving up charge prices and very unprofessional texts . They refuse to come out to give estimate in home. I notice that that's what they do , give quote them come to home ( if they show ) and do an up charge base on what they want to do . The professionalism motivated me to not use them . I needed a new hot water heater since mine started making bubbling noises for about a week. I went through Home Depot and Same Day Water Heater performed the install. The initial price over the phone was $1176, which included $719+tax for the Rheem water heater, $333 service fee, and $100 for the permit. They told me the installer would review any additional costs with me before the work started. The crew showed up and added $735 to the cost to "bring it up to current codes" and parts/labor, which totalled $1911. They told me there were 3 things that needed to be brought up to code, but never showed me the full breakdown of all parts & labor, just the final price. I was could have said no, but they were there and were ready to install, and I didn't want the trouble of starting over to get find another plumbing company. I called the company the following week and was told the $333 service charge didn't include any new parts that would be replaced as part of a new hot water heater install. It only includes regular labor to drain and remove the old hot water heater in my garage and regular labor to install a new hot water heater using all existing hardware/parts if everything else is up to code. The cost was extremely high, but I decided to have them do the work since I didn't want to start over finding a new plumber. The crew arrived early and they did good work and completed everything in 35 minutes with all new parts. When the city code inspector came to inspect and gave me a permit I asked him about the project and he said it was good. When I showed him a 2014 photo of my previous water heater with the water supply lines, water cut-off valve and connections he said all that was "all up to code" and that the new lines didn't need to be installed. read more

Went to order WH from Home Depot and got a call from SDWH rep. Quited $1600 from the rep with any "code updates" extra. House was built in 2016. "Professional" came out, started to looked at water heater and then went to his truck. Came back with a sheet with the price of nearly $2300 for "updates." I was looking at the City of Dallas plumbing code. The "Professional" kept asking me, "Are you with me?" When asked about the "updates," all I was told was, "You see the green? Green is bad. Have to replace." When asked what exactly the code said and why he needed to replace this and that, the "Professional" seemed agitated, in a rush and seemed like he didn't want to explain anything. Due to feeling rushed, pressured and not completely sure what work needed to be done and why, I declined the work. The "Professional" never attempted to explain anything that he said needed to be done or why it needed to be done. Half of our entire conversation was "Green is bad. Have to replace." When I started to ask questions, the "Professional" looked like he wanted to leave and wasted no time when I declined service due to lack of information and doubting the price I was given was a good one. An actual Professional would have been able to describe the process and explain why it was necessary to be done. This was anything but a professional experience. read more

I purchased a hot water heater through Home Depot and this company is subcontracted for the installation. I had a very positive experience. The phone representative set up the appointment and the installer arrived on time and with the correct unit. He was informative and courteous. He installed the unit very quickly and it is now working great, we love it. The installer also set up the inspection by the city, so that was convenient. (Good old city of Dallas with its 8-9 hour window, basically you sit home all day and hope that they show up.) The only thing was that the basic installation was priced reasonably but extra parts to bring the installation up to code were really expensive! Just a few parts cost almost as much as the quoted installation. Overall, I am very satisfied. read more

I don't think I will be using your services for installation again.. The mark-ups on these items feels like robbery. Two separate labor charges for working on only one water heater totalling $250.00 The original quote included labor yet they tacked on another 250.00 labor? Really? $75.00 for a drip pan? Had a very positive experience with Same Day Water Heaters. I purchased a water heater tank through Home Depot for my rental property. Home Depot contracts with this company to do the installation and I am happy to say that they were very nice and professional over the phone & during the install. The installers, Sean and Kimball, were extremely nice and called me when they arrived and told me the total amount it would be before they did the install. They called me after the installation to let me know how everything went. Another company I had gotten an estimate from (not a contractor with Home Depot) had come out and said the water heater I needed was a 50 gallon and the price just for the tank alone would be $1079 with a six year warranty. I went to Home Depot and they had a 50 gallon Rheem water heater tank for only $524 (with a 12 year warranty). So half the price of what the other company was going to charge with double the warranty! Same Day Water Heaters first went out with the 50 gallon tank and called me and said that the current tank in my house was a 40 gallon not a 50 gallon; that a 50 gallon tank would not fit in the small water heater closet located in the garage. They were very honest about this and they came back out the following day with a 40 gallon tank to install. They did not charge me for the extra trip even thought it was my fault as I told them it was a 50 gallon tank that was currently installed. Had told them it was a 50 gallon tank based on what the other company that came out had told me...obviously telling me it took a larger tank than what it really took so they could overcharge me I assume. Same Day did the install and the total price was exactly what they told me it would be. Just a note...every city has different regulations on what parts must be installed and the method by which the tank is installed. The installation company will not know what the total price will be until they contact the city to find out what must be done in order for it to pass the city inspection (the permit). The city where my rental property is located required an expansion tank to be installed so this took the price up a little bit but Same Day called me and told me this before they did the install. I see other complaints on Same Day regarding "bait-and-switch" tactics but is probably not really a "bait-and-switch" because when I first called them, they gave a price just on the basic install but they don't know what the additional requirements are for each city. Once they contact the city to find out what the additional requirements are, if any, the price may go up but that is because of the city's rules & requirements and some are more strict than others. Would highly recommend them and will use them from now on instead of the other plumber I had used that tried to overcharge me. read more

Home Depot contracts with Same Day Water Heaters, and I understand why. Their commitment to customer service is unlike anyone I've worked with. I spoke with Henry at Same Day Water Heaters, he laid out every piece of information in detail. Pricing, warranty, benefits, what to expect the day of installation. He was patient, kind, informative, and we shared a few laughs. I was even offered same day install, but I was unable to accommodate due to a schedule conflict. But, how amazing is that?! Everything was very transparent and I knew what to expect. We set up install for next day. Next day I got a call from Decker- the plumber, and within 15 minutes he was at the house. I don't think they spent 45 minutes on the job. They were super efficient, focused on the job, removed the old water heater, installed the new, and all service with a smile. *UPDATE - 12:16pm 8/16/22 - Mark Milligan came out (after I left this review) and simply removed the water limiting valve. Problem solved. He also had no idea why the original plumber couldn't fix it. Mark is fantastic, but I still can't recommend the company simply because of the way I have been treated by their call center. *Original review If I could give 0 stars I would. They were contracted to do my toilet installation through Home Depot. Date ordered was July 7th. I was told they would contact me within 2 days to schedule installation. No calls. After delivery of the toilet (July 15th) I called them. They said they had called multiple times. Then they read the phone number to me and it was wrong. Had to wait 2 weeks longer for install. They wanted me to measure the rough in. Did that. Then they wanted me to inspect the toilet to make sure it was intact. Did not do that - didn't want to drop it and break it myself. They schedule the day, but you have to be available the entire day. If they call and you don't answer, you have 10 minutes to return the call or they cancel. So basically, take the day off and sit on your hands waiting for them. The plumber came and did the install. The toilet squeals loudly when flushed. He said that it was because of my water pressure. When I told him I had had 2 other toilets in there through the years without that issue he turned down the water and said it would 'fix itself'. I left a bad review on Home Depot. Within an hour, Kat (Same Day Water Heaters) called - 8/8/22. She stated that she will send a different plumber out on Monday the 15th of August to take a look at the toilet and see if it can be fixed. If not, he will remove it and I will have to process the warranty return to get the replacement. They will then come back out and install it . None of these visits will be charged to me. Yesterday (8/15/22 4:14pm) - I called to find out where the plumber was. Dahlia said they are running behind and they will come tomorrow morning. This morning I called (8/16/22) at 10:15am to find out where they were. Brittany stated that there was no need for a plumber to come out. I just need to replace the tank. This is not something I am willing to do myself and now will need to contract with another company to finish what they could and should have done themselves. I ordered via Home Depot on Sat and two people came from this company on Mon. Home Depot had quoted $2339 but after inspecting the existing heaters they wanted $3330. The younger guy said it is to bring it up to code (which was B.S. IMO). Also he was rude - he pretty much told me to take it or leave it. I went with it since my old water heaters were making noise and I just wanted it fixed. I definitely think I overpaid. But after they left, I found the younger guy was hitting on my daughter! WTH! Said he moved here recently and did not have many friends and wanted to snapchat with her. (She said no). He also had his mask more or less off most of the time he was near me getting to sign off on docs. In the end, he took it off completely. And then told me to rate them high (including on wearing masks!). read more

Contact was good, provided an estimate BUT know I understand why at the end of the speech they say this estimate may may not include all work that needs to be done. The licensed plumber will evaluate the needs. I believe some of my work was excessive. I will say the installation and clean up was timely and well done but for what I finally paid, my gosh. I was quoted $937 and the final install was $1600. When the company followed up, I told them just as I have stated here and also there are the same complaints on Yelp. She apologized and offered a refund if I found the same service for a lesser price. I told her that her company should be concerned of this and make some changes. It is very obvious that their business model is to low ball the initial quote on the phone and then pad on extra charges when they show up for the work. When you are shopping for quotes, they are the cheapest. If you use them to complete the work ,they will end up being the most expensive. Thanks to the yelp reviews , I was on guard about expecting significant up charges .. And yes that's exactly what I got .. The plumber added $950 to the original $1250 phone quote to "bring it upto code". My house is 8 years old and is pretty upto date on recent construction guidelines. I understand that not everything can be covered as part of base install. But the items that the plumber added are clearly things that any honest shop would include in their original quote. For e.g. gas flex line to connect the new boiler, new water connection pipes, water shut off valves, changing the height of the piping coming into the new boiler. Btw , Frisco city code mandates that all these items be changed anyways. Then why not quote them up front ? This would be like a painter quoting on the phone $1250 to paint the house. Then after actually seeing the home, adding charges to tape the walls , putting plastic sheets on the ground, extra for base coat to prime etc. I called Home Depot to get their service to install the water heaters. It is appalling that Home Depot is allowing their name to be dragged through the mud here. read more

Don't use these guys. They subcontract for Home Depot. They will quote you a price, then add costs for many other parts that don't come from Home Depot and are outrageously priced. For example, they added a thermal expansion tank that costs $40 at Walmart and charged me $200. I realize the price includes labor, but they did the whole job in less than 2 hours. They also charged $250 for "Cut Wall / Reroute T&P" even though they didn't cut wall or reroute anything. After much stonewalling, I finally had to contact the company owner to get a refund. By the time they finished replacing lines, etc. that were still good, the charge was more than twice what we were quoted. We were also told by the installer if we found a better price within 30 days they would match the price. Now they refuse to accept the lower quote we have from another plumbing company. Home Depot uses Same Day Water Heater company to do its hot water heater installations,. Same Day subbed the job out to Olshan Plumbing, who did a terrible job. (Installed incorrectly, wrong paperwork, got my name wrong, no receipt, overcharged for parts, etc., etc. etc.) Same Day called after the installation to find out how the job went. Told them my concerns -- particularly that I was unhappy at being unable to now close the hot water heater closet door. Same Day rep was very courteous but didn't respond to my request to have the problem fixed. That took a trip to Home Depot & over an hour of phone time. After which I had to take *another* day off work to wait for the plumber to come back and fix the issue. Maybe Same Day Water Heater is awesome, but I'm seriously disgusted with their indifference & unwillingness to back up their contractors' quality of work. read more

Installers were prompt and friendly. However, had issues right away with water leaking in from the roof when it rained. When I called them about getting it fixed, I was told that I had signed a waiver after installation that they were not responsible for the connection of the vent to the roof. Would not recommend a company that fails to complete an important, basic step of the installation and then refuses to fix it. read more

Not Same Day At All - I was provided Same Day Water Heaters as a recommended installer through Home Depot to replace my hot water heater. I have had a very bad experience. It's been three days, and now they decided to no bid the work. I had a strong feeling they really only want to do work that is quick and easy. On the positive their call center answered promptly (in Houston), but in the end they couldn't help. Isn't installing hot water heaters one of the basic things plumbers do? It's been three days and I have no hot water heater. I am back to square one, and going to call another plumber who can do the job. Don't expect full service from this provider. Like everybody else I linked up through Home Depot. They quoted me $1041 and actually set up the appointment for the next day. The phone rep had told me that certain things might be necessary at an extra charge for code compliance, etc. The installer looked over the situation and made a phone call to someone in his office regarding the city code in my town. I could tell from the side of the conversation that I could hear and the body language of the installer that this was a "see how much you can add on" exercise. Granted there were some things that were necessary to meet city code but I was skeptical about much of it. When the installer was finished with his estimate he had $1505 in additional charges. I said that this was too much and sent him along his way. I did ask him for a copy of our city code, which he provided. Along with $375 additional labor there were other exorbitant prices. I was told that the pressure relief valve drain would require 35 feet of 1 inch pvc. The city code states "must run outside if possible." Mine already runs outside. The price for the 1 inch pvc was $11.25 per foot. One inch pvc retails for 40 cents per foot. Fittings and connections that would have been required for this would probably retail for about $4. I was told the overflow pan would require an additional 35 feet of pvc. The reason he stated does not match with the city code. I was told that my vent pipe needed to be replaced - 6 feet at $35 per foot. Vent pipe retails for about $5 per foot. A new drip pan - $75. Plastic ones are $10 and aluminum $18. The only reason I gave this company two stars is because they did meet the appointment time and the tech was very courteous. read more
