I needed a quick bite between appointments and was hoping to find a new spot with healthy options…read moreand I sure have seemed to! I was greeted by friendly employees at two counters, one for Andy's Sunflower cafe which sells coffee and tea, and one for food (Ain't She Sweet). I had no idea what to order so I asked the teammate at the counter and after discussing my spice tolerance, decided to go for the Jerk Chicken Wrap since it's so popular. It was a bit spicer than medium, which I was warned, but it was worth it. The chicken was juicy and tender and I was impressed by the freshness of the other ingredients as well as their tortilla wrap selection! The chicken gumbo was also quite tasty. I would order both again. The prices were reasonable, it was a $3 upcharge for a side of soup. I sat in the restaurant to eat and enjoyed the music. I think I might have found my new lunch spot!

The clam chowder didn't have a lot of cream to me, but the clams weren't tough. You know usually when you eat clam chowder, it kinda taste like you're chewing bubblegum. The clams were so tender!! I was very surprised. The banana cake is delicious and moist. It's heavenly!!!!!! My jerk wrap was amazing! The chicken was cooked perfectly and it didn't have too much jerk sauce on it so it wasn't salty. It was delicious. I highly recommend Ain't She Sweet Cafe at either location!!!

I swear everytime I've gone into a fish place recently they've all been out of catfish, but luckily…read morenot today! This black owned business has above average standing room in the waiting area, two TVs and an ATM with a good amount of seats/benches. Seems like it might've been an old chinese food joint with a few tables, but they opted for a pure takeout experience (which is unfortunately the trend nowadays.) Since it was my first time I thought I'd try both the fish and chicken combo along with the dirty rice. The total came out to be $24 with the wait being about 15 minutes. The staff overall were nice.      After leaving the place and checking the food. I realized that the combo dinner didn't contain a roll and coleslaw like advertised which was kind of disappointing. It did have the fries though. The requested lemon pepper was there, but they also seasoned the chicken/catfish with garlic powder, salt and parsley which is fine. Everything was fried hard, but not dry which creates the perfect pleasurable crunch. The chicken and fish tasted better than a lot of the restaurants in the area with the fish having a lightness to the breading that's sorely missed. Some of the chicken was weirdly tough though as if it was slightly undercooked.      Speaking of misses we have to talk about the dirty rice. Dirty rice is one of those dishes that seems like it either is absolute perfection or an abomination with no in-between. This unfortunately falls into the latter with it not only looking boring with all brown notes, but the initial taste as well as texture being an off putting creamy rancid trip to flavor hell. After a just a few bites my stomach turned which does not bode well for this dish. I have no idea what went wrong here, but it seems like it may have been sitting out too long. Even the smell was a bit rancid. At least it has a good ratio of ground beef to rice which a lot of places skimp on. They also attempted to add in some vegetables like peppers although they are barely noticeable.       Overall Surf's up is a good spot with friendly staff, decent prices, but some issues with quality. My advice is to make sure the cooking temps are correct and consistent. Definitely make sure if food is sitting idle, that it is kept at the mandatory minimum of 140 degrees farenheit to avoid it going rancid so quickly. Also, double check the orders before sending them out or edit the menu if it is outdated.

First time I came in got southwestern chicken soup. Spicy without being overwhelmingly hot. Lot better than progreessos version of the soup. And a grilled cheese that came with fries. Grilled cheese is an outstanding sandwich one that I don't eat as much since I'm not a kid anymore but it felt all warm, gooey brought back childhood memories. Second time I came got jerk chicken salad. Flavorful, zesty. The jerk chicken didn't have the taste from like an actual jerk place but I liked it. I got the Maplewood fat pug for a beverage. It also looks like they sell beer to go.

I wasn't going to go to the Heart of the City! I wanted to come here after researching places worth dining in at. I was not disappointed at all. Parking maybe a bit of a challenge but this place is always busy and I can see why.Seeing how awesome their patio was, I'm sure this place is even more wild in the summer. The menu itself is very comprehensive me and my wife do enjoy is checking out their vegan menu . I personally tried their salmon burger and a boozy shake . Their food was absolutely delicious though it was a bit hard trying to find a seat to dine in at . I absolutely thought there was a second floor to this building but I was wrong. Restrooms are single stall . The food prices are not bad at all . The police are always here ordering food as well though I don't like that they're parked in front of the bus stop . Great selection of beer and other liquor as well . Since there wasn't any parking at all because the parking lot was full we did have to park a block or so away . In all honesty this place was incredible and worth my time driving out to Chicago for !
