Everything bagel with jalapeño salsa cream cheese packed some heat

Food was fresh - warmly toasted - cold cream cheese that slightly melts. Added some putting hot vanilla brewed coffee. Quiet atmosphere and plenty of seating. Simple ordering and call out for pick up.

Everything bagel with Plain Cream Cheese

Honest review ** I thoroughly enjoying trying new bagel spots and Sam's was recently recommended to me. I got an everything bagel with cream cheese and a cinnamon sugar bagel. Great amount of cream cheese, bagels are freshly made and best to go in the morning. Owner was pretty cool too, also a nice study spot if you're a college student and all your local coffee shops are crowded.

Everything bagel with lox, cream cheese and the fixins

Sometimes I like to treat myself. You know, carbs are bad...well maybe not for you, but for me....they are the devil. Anywho, on this particular day, I was craving a bagel with lox. Enter Sam's bagels. I pass by it often, but have never stopped on in. Why not give it a try. The inside it larger than what I expected, they have various options from just bagels to other pastries. On this date, I decided to try the bagel and lox sandwich, they happen to have two, one that is an actual sandwich and the other which is open faced. The bagel itself was okay. It was slightly more chewy than what I would like. I kinda felt that they could have given me more lox and fresher pieces of lettuce. The sandwich itself came with a bag of chips and a pickle which I thought was a good deal. All in all I thought the experience was fair to middling. Good to know that there is a bagel shop near by.

The bagels and cream cheese are quite good and reasonably priced (6 bucks and change for two). Sure, I've had better with a better selection of flavors... just not in the area. So, if you want a quick, cheap breakfast, you'll do well here. Their problem is they also do lunch. I ordered a corned beef - and it just wasn't very good, like at all. The pizza bagels look descent, so I might try that, and I may even go in for an egg sandwich (served all day) but I think I'll avoid their deli-meat sandwiches in the future. Staff is friendly, and patient (I tend to be indecisive). They keep the place clean. Parking is plentiful in the lot too, which is a plus, but the building this is in lacks the charm of downtown Catonsville.

Portion sizes are small for the price. Service is slower than it should be. I was expecting more based on previous reviews.

Not bad if you just want to grab a snack to tide you over. A bit overpriced, though, for what you get.

Decent breakfast sandwich, although eggs seemed microwaved. Bagels are average sized, chewy, but lack a slight crisp

While waiting my brothers and I played Jenga that the cafe offers and also monopoly which is this super cute specialized version for the area, Arbutus/Baltimore. This cafe is so cute and quiet - a great place to get some work done, have a small meeting or chill with your family. If I lived nearby this would definitely be a regular place I would come to get work done. To drink, I ordered something on seasonal media specifically their Rose B. Chai (I forgot the second word ) which a mix of chai and rosemary. And dare I say it's the PERFECT FUSION!!! It's so good! at first I was a little skeptical thinking it shouldn't work but it does. Now unfortunately my mom didn't approve and she has a more of a sweet tooth than I do so maybe different people have their different opinion but I loved it. There's also an orange creamsicle drink that's on the menu that I really want to try.I didn't have time to order food but the prices are super reasonable like less than $10. We picked this location mostly because it was conveniently located just off the highway on our way home. It's situated in what felt like a small downtown area of Arbutus. The inside of the coffee shop is much larger than it appears from the outside and, in addition to the main café area, it also includes a community room. Once inside the coffee shop space, there's a cooler with drinks and a small display case with their pastries. For our coffees that morning, I went with a large hot Lavender Dreams latte, while my wife ordered the Peach Keen cold brew. It took somewhere between 5 to 10 minutes before we had our coffees and were on our way. My coffee tasted good as I could clearly taste both the lavender and the honey, but there was still plenty of strong coffee flavor on the backend. My wife's coffee, on the other hand, wasn't so good. The peach flavor was extremely strong and sweet, and both of us thought it clashed in a strange way with the bold cold brew. The bottom line for me is that I might stop by here again in the future. While I enjoyed my coffee, my wife's was definitely one of the weirder flavors I've tasted and not in a good way.

I not only recommend Cozy Café, I shout from the rooftops to go here now!…read more Whenever I have company or family coming into town, old Ellicott and Cozy Café specifically are my first thoughts. One time my partner was standing outside with one of our doggos and I was inside ordering us coffee/breakfast. The owner came up to me and told me that we can bring our dog in. I couldn't figure out how he even knew that they were my people or how he saw them because they weren't standing near windows or doors. But that just shows how much they pay attention to their customers. When I found out that they had coffee flights after I already had been going there for months, I about about lost it. You can choose iced or hot and they come with a variety of flavors. They even top it off with different pastries! Those pastries go with the flavors. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Cozy Café. This is a staple in my house and it should be a staple in yours!

So the flight was for different ice lattes paired with a pastry, which was a croissant a Blondie brownie, a macaroon and lastly.strawberry cake for $25. It took a while for the flight to be prepared because I think they're a little bit shortstaffed on a Monday morning, but they had a lot of comfortable places to sit and wait. The corn beef sandwich came out good and I mentioned it was simple because it's literally just corn beef with some white bread and some cheese, but it was actually pretty tasty for breakfast. The coffee flight came out and it's on a large paddle and it looked really delicious. I have to say the regular flavored lattes and the croissant weren't my favorite choices, but as I started moving down the paddleboard towards flavored lattes and the Blondi bar, it was pretty good. My favorite latte was the butter beer and my favorite pastry actually turned out to be the Blondie brownie bar. The inside has enough seating for about 50 people and it's really cutely decorated. I highly recommend stopping in if you're in the mood for a coffee after a day of shopping in Ellicott city.

This is a familiar place that updates the look and menu now and then, yet still feels like home. We often get a beet salad when it's available. Matthew's is scrumptious, with tender sweet juicy roasted beets, tasty grilled chicken, red onion slices and fresh spinach, tangy crumbled bleu cheese, and delightful candied walnuts, complimented by tart raspberry vinaigrette. By the way, it's gluten-free. We loved the rich cream of crab soup du jour, full of crab lumps and full of flavor, with a little spice from good old Old Bay. Delicious and dreamy. Their quesadillas were served a la carte as an appetizer, loaded with savory roasted chicken, heavy with a mild cheese and a lightly spicy flavorful thick red sauce, rolled in tender lightly seared flour tortillas. Generous and satisfying. Matthew's building dates from around 1862 as a station and hotel at the end of a horse-car line, before electricity! It's been through around 5 names over the years, and has been the Parsons family's Matthew's 1600 since 2004. We've felt comfortable and welcomed here for decades. It has plenty of free parking in their own lot. By the way, many of their already reasonable prices are discounted a little if you pay cash. That's a endearing way of keeping it real in Catonsville, only charging when it costs them.
