had a broiled seafood dinner there on a Saturday night. it was dried out and the stuffie had a strange texture and taste. it was inedible. we could not converse with each other as a singer was performing in the bar area, and he did not take a break the entire time we were there. the noise level was awful. the salad bar had several empty or very low-filled containers. they have been going downhill for a while. we have been going there for over 30 years and it definitely is not as good as it used to be. read more

Salad bar and bread were good. Both were fresh and tasty. The entrees on the other hand were terrible. I had eggplant parm. I've never had eggplant parm with a big scoop of ricotta cheese in the middle. It was not appetizing and lukewarm. My husband had the Yankee pot roast. It was not fork tender and again lukewarm. Well I'm left pretty angry and very hungry after purchasing a nine dollar buffalo chicken sandwich from Sam's which ended up being a complete joke. Sandwich looked completely sloppy upon being received, there was several pieces of lettuce and sloppy tomatoes (which were not advertised on menu) , covering the overcooked and under seasoned and borderline buffalo sauce less chicken breasts. When I tried to bite into the sandwich, both of the chicken breasts basically slid out of the buns , it was a mess..Thanks for nothing Sam's, definitely will not be returning here.... I mean come on a buffalo chicken sandwich that should be easy. read more

Ordered 3 baked stuffed lobsters for take out, the worst ever. It looked like they removed the meat from the tail. Replaced with 3 scallops. Lots of cracker stuffing, no meat only in flaws. Called and complained and got nowhere. First and last time or us. read more

Arrived 2 hours prior to closing and we were treated like we arrived 2 minutes before. Hostess gave dirty looks food was rushed, cold, and horrible. They should not advertise their hours if they wish to close earlier than what's documented based on occupancy. read more

After my boyfriend moved to Warwick a month ago, we've made a trip to Sam's Inn probably once a week since then, whether its just for a beer or a sit down meal. No matter what time of day or day of the week, the wait staff is incredibly friendly, service is great and the food is some of the best, I recommend Sam's Inn to anyone who lives around the area who hasn't tried it. I thought there had been renovations inside and sadly I don't think there were any. We were in the mood for comfort food & a quick meal, this fit the bill. Baked scrod was good & the draft beer pure tasting indicating clean taps. The place was packed & everyone eating, priced fairly. For a quick hit, not bad. read more

This used to be a fantastic restaurant. The quality of the food has gone down over the years. Saturday night a friend and I went for dinner. One prime rib and one filet mignon. The prime rib was terrible ordered rare and came medium. Today the leftovers made a pretty good soup. So it was not all that bad. The Flaming young was okay however came with a demi glaze on the side. Thankfully I ordered it on the side. This was not a demi glaze it was some undercooked flour mess with a few mushrooms in it. Good it was on the side so it didn't ruin the meat. The butternut squash was over-the-top excellent. The broccoli was excellent. Both potatoes were undercooked and flavors ice. Needless to say we did not get dessert. Being a Saturday night there was entertainment in the bar. This permeated all through the restaurant. Off key and far too loud so that it was hurt in the far reaches of the restaurant and you are unable to carry on a conversation. This Saturday night it seems more like a trailer park then a restaurant. I guess we won't be going back. read more

What a nice meal we enjoyed at Sam's Inn. We were seated promptly and with a smile. The menu is huge, lots of specials. Our drink orders were taking promptly. I enjoyed a great Cosmo. My husband a diet soda. With our drinks, a basket of Warm Italian bread was delivered. So good. Our server had a huge party but never made us feel neglected. The salad bar was fresh and I have been to a much more expensive restaurant lately where salad dishes were warm. These plates were crisp cold. Our server told us to go up as often as we wished. Alot of choices too. My prime rib, end cut was delicious. Huge, full of flavor. Sides were perfectly cooked. My husband's chicken Parmigiana was so tasty and enough for two people. The server chatted with us for awhile. The Hostess told us on the way out she hopes we come back. We will! read more

Went there on 01/22/16 for my retirement dinner with three friends. Our waitress was on the ball with a great personality. Our food was very, very good and plenty of it, we all took leftover boxes home. They have a big salad bar, everything you'd ever want. Our drinks were made right. The food was just OK, not much flavor and visually unappealing. The service was NOT so good. First time there and when we walked in the hostess and waitress looked our way then continued to have their conversation. When we turned to walk away, another Hostess came up to seat us. Waitress was not very attentive, almost to the point of rude and rushed. The place was nearly empty. Almost no ambience, seen better days. NOT returning and NOT recommending. read more

Worst experience ever. I took my family there last night and it was awful. The waitress was amazing, but the manager was awful. I ordered linguini with clam sauce. The pasta was bland and the sauce was bland. Not only that, but they out lobster in the sauce without putting it on the menu or informing you when you ordered it. I am deathly allergic to lobster. I took one taste and I was swelling instantly. The waitress was wonderful about it and was very sweet. The manager not only didn't come over for about 15 minutes after the incident, when I was already swollen and could barely speak, but she was ABSOLUTELY HORRIFICALLY RUDE. I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!!!!!! She blamed it on me and basically yelled at me for it. She never once apologized nor did she take any responsibility for her restaurant. She told me I should know better to tell restaurants my allergies. However, for something that people have severe allergies to, like lobster, it should be on the description of the menu. Never ever again. The food was mediocre for the rest of my family. Not kid friendly at al. I had to ask for crayons, coloring book, and a booster seat, even though I told the staff prior I had a young child. Never again. AWFUL!!! read more

We have dined at "The Inn" for many years both "Bassett's and the new Sam's". On Sunday night, after a very busy day installing a new water heater and cleaning up the mess from the old water heater we dicided to get take-out from "Sam's". We asked for Clam bellies and we were told they were still available so we placed two orders. When I picked I asked the young hostess if they were the bellies and not strips and she assured me they were. When we opened the containers at home what we saw was some "bits & pieces" of what looked liked over fried, in old oil, left-over clams from the bottom of the Friolator. I was too tired to have to go back and start over so we put this in the garbage and opened a can of tuna. What is wrong here is this was not an oversight. The cook could have 86ed the clams and we would have been happy with something else, but instead sent out an inferior product, but full price was paid. I went back monday and told my story to an elderly hostess. She was very nice and said she was sorry. We can no longer trust "Sam's Inn" kitchen and we will never return. read more
