    Salmon Teriyaki Bowl
    Cristal R.

Something light, fresh and oh so DEL-ISH-IOUS!!! Yes, this is exactly what Samurai Sam's on Via Linda is. Golden Grilled perfectly flaky crisp and so very savory. Huge lemon wedges to give it that extra tangy zest. Love the rice always fluffy like white clouds and paired perfectly with an abundantly steamed veggies. I asked to eat it with chop sticks so that I could savor every bite! I just signed up for the Samurai Sam's Circle and I got get $10 for every 100 points, I also get a birthday reward 7 days before my birthday so that I can enjoy even more savings. Makes sense I like getting rewards for everything I buy. Samurai Sam's your Amazing! Just Love it!

Marline is the nicest lady in the world. She knew everyone's name as they walked in the door, or she introduced herself and got your name if it was your first visit. Who even does that anymore? I felt like home immediately. I also ordered the General Sam's bowl. It is a spicy bowl and quite amazing. The rice is perfect in the bottom, and then all the jalapenos! It was a spicy hot lunch, and partial dinner as the helping was huge. They got my order to go, you can go inside to place your order and they have it ready pretty quickly, it was made to order, not sitting there waiting for you. I will go back based on the service alone, and also for the delicious food.

Some days I feel spoiled working so close to such a great food option. My co-worker convinced me to try this place out as it is one of his favorite spots. I was not disappointed. It was like finding a hidden gem in our nearby sea of food selections in North Scottsdale. It is located in the same plaza as Goldie's Sports Bar and surrounded on all sides by residential streets and a park. Everyone that works there is friendly and genuinely happy to see you. It's true that they'll remember your name also - it's a bit like Cheers. I usually get a standard Teriyaki Chicken and rice bowl and love that it is chock full of delicious chicken and veggies on a huge bed of rice. I've also tried their Korean BBQ Chicken bowl which has a great sauce. The best thing they do there is grill their egg rolls rather than deep fry them. They taste so fresh and healthy. Sign up for their email notifications and you'll get a coupon for a free one.

Kenny was very helpful in selecting items that were compatible with my food allergies Marlene had great customer service WE WILL BE BACK. They were self-aware, friendly, kind & I will be coming to this location nOw instead of the one off Hayden.

The kind lady that served us!

Food was really good! I got the teriyaki chicken and rice bowl. The manager was so kind and knows the community really well. The aesthetic and vibe of this restaurant is really kind and warm. Would 100% recommend.

Samurai Sam's tries hard at creating some Asian inspired food The three of us came here last week, each ordering something different. I had three chicken tacos which were good, but had virtually no meat. As you can see from the photos, it's hard to find any. Lots of veggies though. As for my friends, they each ordered different types of teriyaki bowls. Both came with a lot of rice, but again not much else. Sadly, you can get nearly twice as much food at Panda Express. It's hard to justify coming back, our bill came to $24.70, including two soft drinks and one water. So, Two Stars and yes, we have had better. Sorry!

I was dining solo and had no trouble finding a seat since there's plenty of seating throughout the restaurant. That said, I was surprised by how quickly the place started filling up after opening, which is always a good sign. One of the first things I noticed was the large sushi bar and being able to watch the sushi chefs at work. There were five of them, which I took as a sure sign this place gets busy. I ordered the spider roll, salmon avocado roll, and steamed edamame. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and exactly what I was hoping for. One unique thing about Kodo is their rice blend. They use a combination of black and white rice, which gives the sushi a distinctive purple color. It's not something you see every day, and it definitely makes their sushi stand out. I also have a food allergy, and the staff handled it carefully and without any issues. They offer fountain drinks, which I always prefer. And I liked their plastic to-go container. It kept my leftovers from getting soggy by next day. Easy five stars.

It's well placed amounst popular resorts, endless choices of golf courses, high end shopping, Spas and other eateries. For our of state visitors it is located in an area that provides a great destination for conferences and vacation launching point to enjoy what Scottsdale has to offer. Parking 5/5 There is a great turn-about like drop off near the front door I took advantage of. Other semi private parking is located along the west and south in front and behind the restaurant. Ambiance 5/5++ After passing through the foyer, you're greeted by staff receptionists who quickly get your experience started. The restaurant opens up to a large open dining space that includes an impressive "baresk" wrap around serving counter which allows guests to experience and interact with the kitchen staff. Adjacent to the main dining area is a very trendy wraparound bar and a little more intimate lounge with tables for guest meetups, date nights, after business meetings or relax after playing 18 holes at a nearby course. Unfortunately, the experience was disrupted by a large group of intoxicated golfers. There is a dress code, and had it been enforced, this situation may have been avoided. My husband and I were celebrating our 32nd wedding anniversary, and the group became extremely loud--yelling, using inappropriate language, and creating an uncomfortable environment. Management did try to handle the situation, but when the group was leaving, their behavior escalated. They were running around near our table, and when my 69-year-old husband (who uses a scooter and oxygen) spoke up, they became confrontational and appeared ready to start a fight. It was disappointing and honestly a bit unsettling. For a $200+ dinner, you expect a peaceful and upscale experience. While the restaurant itself is wonderful and the staff made an effort, this incident took away from what should have been a very special evening.

Talking Stick has a spacious free parking lot. After entering the casino, you'll see some elevators close to the Cultural Center. Take them to the top and you'll be in for a treat. Ambiance (5/5): It doesn't get much better than this. When you exit the elevators, you'll be in the spacious bar area. If you're looking for drinks, you can sit at the bar or the comfortable seating that surrounds the bar. Don't sit for too long though because there's a little outdoor deck close to the elevators where you can see nice views of Scottsdale and Phoenix. Move toward the back and you'll find the sit-down restaurant and patio area. On the patio, you'll see those same scenic views. There's even an area with 10 or so semi-circle booths that face the windows (and those views I mentioned). Definitely a romantic, date night type of spot. Service (3.5/5): The service hasn't been bad the two times I've stopped by, just a bit slow. There was one bartender both times I visited. The second time, he must have gone to the bathroom or something because I waited 10 minutes or so to order a drink. That's the downside of only having one bartender working. Food (N/A): I've only had drinks the two times I've visited, but I have perused the menu and it looks interesting. It's upscale, think of it as the menu you'd typically see at a steakhouse with some flair. What type of flair, you ask? Exotic game. We're talking things like ostrich fillets. If you're the adventurous type, all of this should pique your interest. If you're not, there's a lot of "regular stuff" on the menu too. Drinks (4/5): Orange Sky has an interesting list of craft cocktails. I've tried two different cocktails and they were both solid. I was impressed with the unique blend of ingredients. They're a bit pricey, but well done and boozy (always a plus in my book). Outside of cocktails, they have a full bar so beer, wine, liquor, etc. That ostrich fillet is on my mind. I'll have to try it on my next visit.

We came here with a group of friends and turned the table into a sushi feast with an assortment of specialty rolls and appetizers. There wasn't a single plate that disappointed. Everyone was genuinely warm, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. Our server was friendly, checked on us often, and kept everything running smoothly even with our table constantly passing plates around and trying each other's food. The only thing that kept this from being a perfect five-star experience was the temperature inside the restaurant. It was hot...the kind of hot where everyone at the table was quietly fanning themselves with the menu and hoping the next roll came with a side of air conditioning. We all left joking that we got dinner and a sauna session. That said, the quality of the food and the hospitality easily made up for it. If you're looking for fresh sushi, flavorful dishes to share, and genuinely kind service, this spot is absolutely worth checking out. I suggest going somewhere else that is actually worth the time and money. We arrived there on time but they weren't ready for us yet. It took over 30 minutes for us to get a chef to our table and cook. We sat at the table hungry. The quality of food was not worth the prices. We ordered the steak ($50, definitely not worth it) and they did not cook it right. It was overdone. We also ordered salmon. I couldn't believe my eyes... the salmon ($38, not worth it) they had brought to our table was still half frozen! I had mentioned this at the table. I was ignored. I had to ask many times for different things from the chef due to the food not being good. I should have not ate it and just said something at the time but the waiter was in a bad mood and the chef wasn't the friendliest. The workers seemed tired and wanting to be there to do the job. I'd rather stay silent because I know how it can be working at a restaurant that has been busy. Our service... the waiter wasn't patient and had an attitude from the very beginning. I looked over at my friends and we kind of went silent. The performance at the hibachi lacked. I know the chef was probably worn out but our reservation was at 5 pm. Not late at all. We were super let down because the restaurant itself was beautiful but so many bad things happened. The only thing I liked from the restaurant was the happy hour they had a few nice drinks. That's it. The place is not accessible. there are places you have to step up, watch wear you step, it has a lot of declines and inclines. Not a lot of accessible parking. The entrance is so far away from most of the parking. Not enough room at tables for wheelchairs or scooters. It was super loud, very smoky and irritated not only my eyes my almost everyone at our table and other tables.

The special was an assortment of various rolls assembled beautifully making each piece stand out. The first bite was divine and as we worked around the ring of rolls they got better and better. The sauces brought perfect harmony and complemented the fish. The sushi was incredibly fresh not having the fishy order lingering. The rolls melted in your mouth like butter leaving you satisfied. It was so good we placed a second order. Bela stopped by frequently checking on us and also telling us about the restaurant and the area and provided a friendly atmosphere that you do not often get in northern Midwest. The Spider Roll was very good except for the sauce on top that did not suite our palate but after removing the sauce it was fantastic. The Hot Mama Roll was also amazing. The flavors went well with the Yuki Mango Nigori Sake. We also tried some of their beers and spent a while catching up. Belas service was second to none and made this reunion fabulous. The sushi at Bei was better than 95% of our sushi restaurants in my state and the price was very good. They also have a cute cat robot that delivers food!
