Ventured here in a whim since it was close by a really good brunch spot. The drinks were a bit on the light side but the food was tasty overall. We got the TFK and lollipop rolls and some ikura and blue toro. The staff and service were both very quick Overall will return to try out more.

This place has a vibe, a very enjoyable vibe going on. Relaxed, social. The food is fantastic. We had a excellent server who was very patient and thoughtful, his name was Dylan.

I actually saw this place on a FB reels and decided we should give it a try. We ordered a Brussels & Cauliflower appetizer, Miso Soup and two sushi rolls. The Pacific Heat Roll was outstanding, the other items were just OK. Maybe I am hard to impress but when my bill is $63 dollars for the four items listed above I expect to be a little more wowed by both the service and the food, which was not the case. I was not as impressed with the sushi options, I feel like the Kabuki in Tempe Marketplace has a better selection and an amazing happy hour! I did like the Miso soup, the mushrooms made it even better. The Brussels & Cauliflower app was just OK but definitely not worth $15 dollars. The biggest negative for me was that since the place was a Smoke BBQ restaurant for many years prior, the wooden walls have absorbed the smell so while eating your sushi the BBQ smoke smell throws off your taste buds some and my clothes smelled for a few hours after also. With so many sushi places out there, I probably won't be back to this one.

I'm glad that there's an amazing sushi place near cave creek that is a little bit more upscale. What stood out was the ambience, decor and service. They started with a towel that was rehydrated with water which I feel is very classy and a good mark of a quality restaurant. The drinks and cocktails were tasty. We tried a few sushi rolls which all were very tasty and definitely worth a second trip! Being a higher end sushi restaurant it is a little more expensive. But if you're looking for a good night out with something new, this is a place to try at least once.

We've been waiting for this spot to open, so of course we had to try an array of their options. I am happy to report that you can't go wrong with any option. We ordered edamame, rock shrimp tempura, bbq spare ribs, some nigiri, and the chuck Norris roll. All delicious. They've redesigned the space from the previous restaurant, and it definitely feels more spacious now. The only critique my brother had was wanting to play music more fitting to the vibe as opposed to the current pop hits of today, but everything else was wonderful

The bussin roll was AH MAZ ING!! Thanks to the kind server - I said it was dealers choice between 3 different options- needless to say, I was very happy with her choice! I sat on the patio which is great for people watching and bad drivers .

    Beautiful and eligant!

I dont rate things unless they truly are deserving to be recognized. This place is definitely one of those places. So recommend worth visiting. From the beautiful ambiance, incredible staff, award winning chefs and delectable dishes... Tomu San Sushi is a MUST!!! 100 STARTS

Great location and decor. Mediocre food at best. Wasn't worth finishing what we ordered. Fish tasted off and the wagu was chewy.

Food was subpar at best. The miso sea bass wrap had no fish just a bunch of sauce and noodles. Sashimi was cut so thick hard to eat.

Upon arrival, the place doesn't look like anything special. It's inside a strip mall, and looks mediocre. However, do not judge too soon. Once you get inside, everything is well laid out & it's very nice. It was busy when we went in on a Friday night, BUT we got seated quicker than estimated- which is always a win! I was not happy with where we were seated, as it was facing the wall in the small bar area. We are people watchers by nature, so it's always fun to be in a spot where we can look around the room effortlessly. However, it wasn't the end of the world and I certainly didn't want to wait any longer, the food looked wonderful & I was starving! I do not remember exactly which rolls we got, but... all of them were EXCELLENT!! Everything was undoubtedly fresh, and made with quality ingredients. I thought the black rice was really neat! I've never seen that before. The waitstaff were very friendly and accommodating. It took no time at all to get our orders out, which was impressive considering that the place was packed near capacity! As we left, all of the sushi pros behind the glass thanked us for coming in and wished us a great rest of our evening. I thought that was very kind. It's not very often that you find a whole line of people stopping what they are doing to wish you well on your way out of their establishment. All in all, 10/10 experience! I would recommend this place to anyone who loves Sushi!

The fish was fresh and I love the use of purple rice in the rolls. I was pleasantly full from the good food and portions. I would definitely go here again.

Speaking with the chefs and fellow patrons is always a fun learning experience. Today was certainly no exception. Great staff! I ordered the sushi and sashimi combo bento box. I also ordered the (pickled) fresh wasabi (you'll be glad to pay this small extra charge and likely, like us, become a fan!). Next visit will be a lunch date with my wife. I got the Chirashi Bowl, and it was incredible. Literally such a generous assortment of sashimi with beautiful cuts of fish, plus shrimp, ikura, tamago, and all the classic accompaniments. The fish was fresh and flavorful, and the whole bowl felt like such a treat. Almost too beautiful to eat, but I forced myself. We also tried the Crispy Spicy Tuna, which was probably my favorite of the night. The crispy base, spicy tuna, avocado, jalapeño, and sauces all worked so well together. It had the perfect combination of crunchy, creamy, spicy, and savory. For the price, it is a generous amount and well seasoned. The Negitoro Roll was another standout. The tuna was buttery and fresh, and the combination with avocado and the sesame-coated rice was simple but really satisfying. Everything looked just as good as it tasted, and the portions were generous. Hiro Sushi is a place I'll always come back to when I'm in Scottsdale.

We were very sceptical at first but the recommendation was spot on. We were seated right away and our server Bela approached immediately. She was very friendly and went down the menu telling us all about the specials and her recommendations. We needed no recommendations because we were there for one thing the Bei special. The special was an assortment of various rolls assembled beautifully making each piece stand out. The first bite was divine and as we worked around the ring of rolls they got better and better. The sauces brought perfect harmony and complemented the fish. The sushi was incredibly fresh not having the fishy order lingering. The rolls melted in your mouth like butter leaving you satisfied. It was so good we placed a second order. Bela stopped by frequently checking on us and also telling us about the restaurant and the area and provided a friendly atmosphere that you do not often get in northern Midwest. The Spider Roll was very good except for the sauce on top that did not suite our palate but after removing the sauce it was fantastic. The Hot Mama Roll was also amazing. The flavors went well with the Yuki Mango Nigori Sake. We also tried some of their beers and spent a while catching up. Belas service was second to none and made this reunion fabulous. The sushi at Bei was better than 95% of our sushi restaurants in my state and the price was very good. They also have a cute cat robot that delivers food! Thank you Bela we hope to come back again on our next trip to Arizona to try more food.

The absolute star of the night was definitely my long-time favorite, the Miso Cod. It was cooked to silky, flaky perfection with the most gorgeous, sweet caramelized crust. A few of the other hot dishes didn't quite hit the mark for me, though. The fried eggplant had a fun, crispy texture but was a bit too oily, and the grilled meats, both the lamb ribs and the beef steak, were unfortunately masked by sauces that felt a little too strong and salty. Thankfully, the desserts completely saved the day! The black sesame mascarpone was so smooth and creative, and the warm chocolate lava cake paired with cold ice cream was pure magic.
