Also enjoyed an appetizer of fresh tako (octopus) wasabi sushi. Both were incredibly fresh, the highest of quality and beautifully presented. I also ordered the (pickled) fresh wasabi (you'll be glad to pay this small extra charge and likely, like us, become a fan!). Next visit will be a lunch date with my wife. TIP (pun intended): when your chefs provide such quality service, tip them (look for the small jars along the countertops) in addition to your friendly server. Contrary to popular nonsense they're among the most highly trained and skilled in culinary professions. They earn and deserve every bit.

It had the perfect combination of crunchy, creamy, spicy, and savory. For the price, it is a generous amount and well seasoned. The Negitoro Roll was another standout. The tuna was buttery and fresh, and the combination with avocado and the sesame-coated rice was simple but really satisfying. The special was an assortment of various rolls assembled beautifully making each piece stand out. The first bite was divine and as we worked around the ring of rolls they got better and better. The sauces brought perfect harmony and complemented the fish. The sushi was incredibly fresh not having the fishy order lingering. The rolls melted in your mouth like butter leaving you satisfied. It was so good we placed a second order. Bela stopped by frequently checking on us and also telling us about the restaurant and the area and provided a friendly atmosphere that you do not often get in northern Midwest. The Spider Roll was very good except for the sauce on top that did not suite our palate but after removing the sauce it was fantastic. The Hot Mama Roll was also amazing. The flavors went well with the Yuki Mango Nigori Sake. We also tried some of their beers and spent a while catching up. Belas service was second to none and made this reunion fabulous. The sushi at Bei was better than 95% of our sushi restaurants in my state and the price was very good. They also have a cute cat robot that delivers food! It's well placed amounst popular resorts, endless choices of golf courses, high end shopping, Spas and other eateries. For our of state visitors it is located in an area that provides a great destination for conferences and vacation launching point to enjoy what Scottsdale has to offer. Parking 5/5 There is a great turn-about like drop off near the front door I took advantage of. Other semi private parking is located along the west and south in front and behind the restaurant. Ambiance 5/5++ After passing through the foyer, you're greeted by staff receptionists who quickly get your experience started. The restaurant opens up to a large open dining space that includes an impressive "baresk" wrap around serving counter which allows guests to experience and interact with the kitchen staff. Adjacent to the main dining area is a very trendy wraparound bar and a little more intimate lounge with tables for guest meetups, date nights, after business meetings or relax after playing 18 holes at a nearby course. Facing the bar is the wine cellar, a floor to ceiling long glass presentation of their collection. There is a separate special event room in the back for hosting private dinners with special event reservations. Tonight this room was reserved for Yelp's "Elite All-Stars" and hosted by the Roka-Akar and the wonderful Phoenix Yelp Community Manager (CM) Francheska J, I popped my head in to say hello to her and she was kind enough to give me some merch. The fried eggplant had a fun, crispy texture but was a bit too oily, and the grilled meats, both the lamb ribs and the beef steak, were unfortunately masked by sauces that felt a little too strong and salty.
