I get Thai chili 2go every once in a while and always love it. Yesterday Friday June 5th was the worst experience I've had at this location. I was on break from work had to run somewhere first... called to place an order over the phone because I was driving & every time I try to order what I want online it ends up being more $$$ to order it online then to just tell someone what I want in person/call in. I called several times the phone never stopped ringing. No one answered. I finally just went in. There was no one in this location accept the lady working. I asked at the register "are your phones down"? She replied not that I know of. I told her I had called several times that I was trying to call my order in ahead of time. She didn't seem to care. So I ordered brown rice and Thai chicken mild with veggies no onions & two sides of the peanuts. She repeated the order to me. I called the number right after I ordered right at the register as she was starting to walk away.... I said see there not on? She said I'll let them get it pointing to the kitchen. I don't even think she cared to hear what I said let alone that I was showing her hello? Your phones are on mute! I watched her walk right back to the table in the corner and eat and get on her laptop. It was as if I inconvenienced her when literally no one was even in there when I walked in to begin with! She handed me my Togo bag and I double checked to see if she gave me the two sides peanuts i asked for and she did not so I asked again. Then she said oh sorry I didn't even charge u for them... I rush back to work have 5 minutes to eat at this point & guess what's on my food green onions and not one single veggie!!! Paid $15ish dollars for chicken and rice and a ton of green onions! I didn't bother calling because I knew she wouldn't answer. So I waited till today to call on my way home from work & shocker the phone just never stopped ringing! Their curry sauces are very good. Used to love their side curry sauces and purchasing a few of those to add to my own vegetables at home. Tried this location multiple times. Jeanne is friendly and welcoming. Being a vegetarian, I asked them to make Thai basil rice bowl without fish sauce and they did it. But not all choices can be made vegan which is a bummer. As I love the options they have. Would be even more regular if they make all vegan options. Thai Chili 2go, as the name indicates, is a fast casual Thai restaurant. They have several locations in town, and I've gotten food from several of them. This was my first time checking out their North Scottsdale location. I stopped by for dinner on a Tuesday evening. Located in a shopping center with several other businesses, free parking won't be a problem. Ambiance (3.5/5): While Thai Chili 2go does a lot of to-go orders and food delivery, you can dine in. It's a small restaurant, but there are 10 tables or so. The restaurant is clean and modern. Pretty much what I expected coming in. Service (4/5): Service isn't a big part of the experience as they have self-service kiosks to place orders. I ended up placing my order online. No complaints as far as using their online ordering system. My food was ready when promised. My brief interactions with the staff were pleasant. Drinks (3.5/5): No alcohol is served at Thai Chili 2go. There are bottled beverages available, and those fancy drink machines where you can select from one of 50 or so beverages using the touchscreen. While I didn't love the options, I did appreciate the quantity of options available. Food (3/5): I went with the pad Thai with chicken. It had been a while since I had this classic Thai dish. It comes with chicken, noodles, bamboo shoots, eggs, and crushed peanuts. Their proteins are priced individually, with beef being more expensive than chicken, for example. You can make additions to your entree for a surcharge, too. Pretty much what I expected here, too. Pretty decent for a fast casual spot. Not comparable to a solid neighborhood Thai restaurant. But, for what it is, it's solid. The portion sizes are generous. And if you join their email club, you'll unlock periodic deals. I have been coming to this location for a while and the food has always been good. I had an experience today that was upsetting. When i got home and ready to eat i noticed that i had no rice with my order, when there should have been 2 sides of rice. So i had to drive 15 minutes back to the restaurant and request my rice, which they gave me. The employee seemed surprised that it was forgotten but not once did i get an apology for the inconvenience that was caused. That should be the bare minimum in customer service. This location is tucked away in a back corner of The Promenade. Thai Chili 2go has great food. I don't think I have ever had a bad meal at any of their locations. The one thing I dislike is that they have moved to kiosk ordering and it takes longer to order than it did when you just told the cashier what you wanted. As much as I've loved this place in the past, tonight we ordered through Uber eats and it was very disappointing. My pad prig pow noodles were very salty, way too much soy sauce or something. They were much darker in color than usual and the meat was overcooked and had a burnt taste. The pad Thai was thick, not saucy at all, very dry. The dumplings however were delicious. I love the flavorful rice. The rice was seasoned to perfection and not salty at all. Some might want some salt though but I just like flavorful food. The shrimp was a little under cooked but that is something I'm willing to forgive because it just needs a few more seconds. The shrimp was flavorless and the texture was close to raw.
