I stopped in yesterday for flowers to make lei (singular because our Hawaiian language has no "s"...something many fail to realize). The young lady that checked me out asked about what I was making and I told her I'd send pictures so she could see. Lei making is a labor of love. We weave prayers and love into each strand for the recipient. It is not a photo op, it is our culture. What a fun selection of flowers and vases at this flower shop. My mom is a florist and is planning for my wedding. This was her recommendation for flower shops to visit in the San Antonio area. This shop is one of the only shops that sells for non resale purposes. Not that we needed help but it would've been nice fora staff member to offer assistance; they looked busy. There was also a bunch of cases and votives available to purchase. Overall the prices seamed reasonable so we will be back in April to purchase for my wedding! read more

This is a secret gem for anyone who loves flowers, gifting them, using them for special occasions, or an event planner. The way I see San Antonio Flowers is how they do have large clients whom they provide inventory for (like florists), but they are open to the general public which is like winning the floral lottery. Every time I've gone I've been able to have assistance in whipping up the creation and bringing it to life. I also have had friends go and tell me their same experience. If you're missing any floral supplies or you're like me who realizes it's more than parchment paper or a vase, they have everything you need and you can buy the supplies for your own projects as well. This place is really blooming! Walking into this flower shop, you are greeted with heavenly scents from all the flowers that they have here. You can just walk in, and grab a bouquet, or something in a pot or vase. They also offer ordering ahead so that it's ready when you need it for your event. We ordered a giant poinsettia, and they had it all wrapped up in plastic ready to go. The poinsettia was huge, looks great, and really livened up the place. The service was swift and friendly. The shop was well organized, and parking was easy. It's in the old Stop-N-Go across from Lincoln Heights Shopping Center at Broadway and Basse. You don't need to be in the doghouse to go here- it's appropriate for all your floral needs! read more

San Antonio Flower Co. is fantastic. They recently demolished their building and moved across the parking lot to a newer location. Flowers are always fresh and the staff is always helpful. I really enjoy leaving with my bunch wrapped in green paper and tied with a straw bow. I enjoy choosing my own stems, purchasing and then taking them home for arranging. Some flowers are more expensive than others of course, but I find their prices to be fair if not on par with other florists. I can say that I have been happy with every last stem or bunch I have purchased from SAFC. I have had flowers last 2 weeks! I have never purchased any of the vases, but they do have a nice seleciton of colors and styles. read more

They had beautiful flowers but prices aren't posted and when I went to pay it was way way way overpriced. I bought the flowers anyways because I hadn't been able to find them elsewhere. Unfortunately the next day I found what I was looking for at $8. I paid $37 at San Antonio Flowers for the EXACT SAME FLOWERS!!! Plus service is really slow and they put customers they were helping ahead of me in line even though I was standing and waiting patiently at register for 10 minutes. So I waited 10 more minutes for them to check out customer they put ahead of me. Bad service and ridiculous prices. Nope, I'm never going back there. read more

She let me do my browsing without bothering me too much. Their flower cooler is a good size with a large selection of flowers, greenery, and fillers. I found this place on accident after trying a few other spots to grab a small bunch of flowers for a friend. I'm very happy I did! I was greeted by BOTH of the employees upon entering, and the woman working was right on target when I told her what I was looking for. I wanted something for a small, desktop vase that was not classic, a little eccentric, but still elegant. She did not try to upsell or redirect me, and she totally listened to what my needs were. When I asked for brown paper wrapping instead of the standard green, she suggested we tie it with what looks like hay or straw(nice touch). The arrangement will be going into a vase, but it looks great as is! The selection was abundant, the product was quality, and the service was exceptional! I stopped by on a whim trying to hunt down a last minute corsage for a friends birthday. I was greeted by a very nice woman who informed me that although they are just a flower market and don't make corsages that she had quite a few other places I could contact. She walked me over to a counter where she had multiple cards from local florists that may be able to help me. I think it's awesome when local businesses try to help eachother out. I browsed the refrigerated section where majority of the flowers are kept and there were a pretty wide selection of roses, tulips, mums, and these amazing looking pincushions. If I ever have a need for flowers again this place will be on the top of the list. read more

He even ordered the blue thistle I wanted a few days early to ensure that it was the size and color I had hoped for! By far the best place I have found in san Antonio for flowers. Staff was super friendly and helpful, and they have an amazing selection of flowers. This is not a pre made bouquet place, although they do have a few on hand if that is what you are looking for. What they do have in abundance is a wide variety of blooms for creating whatever bouquet you could desire. The tulips today were absolutely stunning, and I also picked up a bundle of sunflowers for my daughters' room. My daughter called to preorder white roses and lilies for her wedding day. We picked them up on Thursday afternoon for a wedding on Saturday. The roses were fine but ALL of the lilies were closed and they had nothing else that was open. They assured me that they would open in time if I put them in hot water. I did as they said and not a single one opened until Tuesday! So the real flower bouquet my daughter was wanting for her wedding day did not happen. I have seen the beautiful arrangements offered by San Antonio Flower Company at the restaurant that my husband works at and decided to drop by to pick up a bouquet for my mom's retirement party. The arrangements that they make are beautiful and unique. I totally had my hopes up for what they could put together for my special occasion. Well, I was super disappointed when I walked in and no one came out or acknowledged me. The store itself is obviously more wholesale because there were no grab and go bouquets and the flowers that they did have up and around the store were the type that do not require a lot of effort, like orchids. The vases were dusty and when someone did finally come out, she just sort of smiled and didn't actually say anything. As I was leaving, I noticed that the front door had a bullet hole in it. Hmm, this must be a better place for businesses to order flowers from rather than serving walk-in customers. read more

I loved this place until today. The clerk running the store was much more interested in closing the store than helping customers / sell flowers. Normally the place has great service but today was atrocious. In fact, at 4:55pm another customer walks in and is told "we are closed". Great service?!?! No. Why not just let the customer in so he can buy some flowers! I had my roses on the counter, ready to buy, and instead of wanting to help me with adding to my purchase this selfish clerk just wants to close the place down. Two extra minutes for forty more dollars. Instead I told the clerk "keep your flowers because you're much more interested in closing the place than helping me". HEB, here I come!! read more
