Our experience warrants this review. 1.Furniture damaged (See photos) They were young workers and not careful or didn't care. Darren paid a very small amount for three damaged pieces of furniture. We continued to find more damages. I did not include all in photos. 2.worked at a slow pace with frequent breaks and lots of talking. Charged By the hour. Two men who put the furniture together worked hard. 3.makeshift/shortcuts taken due to material shortages. All furniture wasn't wrapped or protected causing damage. Underestimated the job and didn't bring adequate amount of supplies. 4.Did not finish job. Had to rent a truck to finish ourselves. We would NOT recommend this company read more

Darren and the guys showed up on time and ready to move us. It was smooth, painless and almost too easy (it was a great price). The entire move from point A to point B was efficient and happened quickly (4 hours tops) for two people (from 1BD/1BA overcrowded to a 2BD/2BA). If the customer is ready to move, so were the moving guys- we had all boxes packed and they showed up to finish the job. Also, if we had question, they had a solution. Nothing was broken and they wrapped up furniture with blankets/tape, plus took extra care with the walls/ doors/ corners during placement of furniture and boxes. Excellent moving company for our local move. The account manager was helpful before we moved with planning the correct # of men+trucks when I wasn't sure what we needed and also didn't want to overhire/overpay. Day of the move, the 5 guys arrived with energy and positive attitudes (they all seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs), were careful and efficient to get a somewhat stressful day (for us) tackled. They also thoughtfully asked where to place items inside the new house to make things easier on us rather than just unloading everything in the driveway or in one room. Turath and her husband Darren are the absolute best power-couple I've met in SD (and it has it's fair share!). They do everything within their means to schedule their daily moves such that you get the quickest, best service possible. I've moved with them multiple times now, and while they have certain guidelines for their move, they accommodate edge-cases and special 1-offs. Turath & Darren work with you and treat you like a human-being; there is no false front, no thin veneer of fakeness they hide behind before price-gouging or mistreating your things- these two work their butts off to quote you a price in (or below) your budget, and want nothing but your stuff to be moved safely and you to leave happy. They know how toxic the moving space can be, and how shady people can be- and they strive to do the opposite. DO NOT HIRE SAN DIEGO MOVING COMPANY! Here is the abbreviated email we wrote to Darren. We did not even get a response. Darren, We are writing this letter to address the NUMEROUS issues we had with our move due to your company. As we sit in our new home, normally a stressful time for anyone, we look back on hiring you and your team with TREMENDOUS regret. This has been, by far and away, the single worst move of our lives. And we have moved no fewer than 10 times in the past 20 years. We trusted you and your guys but your poor leadership and lack of supervision has resulted in so much extra stress, it's sad. We list specifics at the end of this email but the reality is this - you and your movers took so many shortcuts during the move that it has resulted in an inordinate amount of broken items, missing items and incorrectly placed belongings. Our walls are severely marked up and damaged because of the carelessness and unprotected move. Now we are faced with opening unmarked boxes filled with unwrapped valuables, many of which are broken or damaged. This is unacceptable and we are sick about the fact that we paid for such poor quality work. Feedback for you would be: 1. Do not leave your team unsupervised in future moves. We found it shocking that you would leave Winston in charge on day two as he was the the worst offender of carelessness. The most costly of all the damages being our Canadel kitchen table, which we've had for over 15 years. Never had a scratch on it from previous moves. We saw Winston trying to force the table in a tight door opening when there was another option of a wider door opening into the house, resulting in a large crack in the wood at the pedastal bass. Not sure if it's repairable. 2. Create systems to pack valuables with more care. A perfect example of this was a box of jarred candles & other fragile items we discovered where none of them were wrapped - just thrown into a box in a heap! Please see below a list of what we have experienced or uncovered thus far: (LIST WAS TOO LONG FOR YELP) We are sick over the numerous amount of items that were damaged beyond repair but what's even more concerning are the items that might have not even made it to our new home. My husband and I had to move out on short notice and San Diego Moving Company came to the rescue. They came, they packed, and loaded our 4 pods. I had never used pods before so I had no idea how many to get, would they fit in my driveway, or how that all worked.
