This place is great!! I am a single female and I needed help w some basic maintenance around my place. I asked their employees for help and everyone knew exactly what I needed. They helped me pick out stuff but didn't try to make me buy stuff that I didn't need. They also said I could bring in pieces and they would help me to figure out what I would need to fix things. It was nice having the employees help and instructions so I could come home and do it myself. I had also left a part that I brought w me in the store and they were kind enough to find me in the parking lot and bring it to me. They seem to have everything at this store, even some candy. This is a real hardware store. Every time you walk in there is a friendly competent person in the front that takes you to the part you need. They have stuff there that you can't find at any big box store & if they don't have it they will order it & have to the store in a couple of days. read more

Little gem of an old school family style hardware store with very helpful & friendly staff.This is my new favorite ACE. Used to love the one in old town La Verne, but it was forced out of business when OSH opened. Thank goodness this place is intact despite Lowe's & Home Depot being nearby! The personalized service here cannot be beat. Needed help with daughter's science experiment & knowledgeable staff gave us the proper tools & some know how. And what we did not end up needing was returned with no hassles! read more

Every time I walk into this place it reminds of the good old days! It's is a true hardware store. It's in a good location of old town San Dimas. It's always easy to find a parking spot. They always have the chrome bolts that I need for my hot rod. read more

First time today to make a copy of a key and from the second i walked through the door the staff was very welcoming. Cashier directed me to the are where they make the keys and right away called someone to assist me. Gentleman was very nice and polite. This isn't the closest Ace Hardware store to my home but it is definitely the best by a wide margin. This store doesn't look very large from the street, but go inside and you will get a real revelation. There is a large, helpful and knowledgeable staff. The variety of the stock in this store is huge and it is just so much easier to go here than wander around in a Home Depot. Just a great store! read more

I have never come out of the store without getting proper, courteous and prompt help, I have gone there looking for totally odd item and they have helped me. The help in this store is incredible. It's a small home town store, but they seem to have everything inside. You might not go here for a great selection of toilets, or building supplies, but they have every little thing, and someone who can help you find it, and put it together. Once they actually rebuilt a faucet for me, and only charged me 29 cents for the washers. Today, they set me up completely with everything I needed to hook up my swamp cooler, when home depot employees told me "they don't make those parts". You will never get frustrated in THIS store. I always buy everything I can here, because I never want them to close. read more

This is the best hardware store. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I was looking for a tap to create a thread for my old shower handle. I looked for it at Home Depot (they did have the right kind) and Lowes (they did not even carry taps) with disappointment. Then I went to this store. They carry all kinds of taps. Once they knew what I was trying to do, they offered to do it for me for free. They created the thread and help me find the socket screw and the wrench for it. All together it costed me $1.03. If I had to buy the tap and the screw at Home Depot (assuming they have the right kind tap and the socket screw which I did not see at the store) I would have had to pay more than 8 dollars and I would had to do it myself. I want to give my sincere thanks to the store. From now this store will be my first choice. Their prices are competitive and they carry all kinds of hardware you won't find at the big stores. Best of all, the employees can help solve your problem quickly and professionally. read more

This store has such a hometown feel and love it! You would think that because of its size they would not have as much availability but EVERY time I cant find something in one of the other big box stores, I find it here! Maybe not a lot of lumber etc... but ALWAYS has that one thing (and has been multiple times!) that I cant find anywhere else... Everything is packed in there but if you have a hard time finding something, ask they are always read to help. would have given 5 but usually items are a little more than where you would find elsewhere. everything else top notch. read more

The BEST hardware store around. They somehow manage to have everything I need in small space. The staff there are super helpful. I had to re-plumb the line to my refrigerator's water dispenser. The clerk was very helpful in picking out the parts, pointing me to better alternative parts and providing some good tips along the way. read more

This is the place to go for all the hardware and help you need. They have so much and will willingly order what they don't have. They have personnel who understand how to use what they sell and will work with you as you go through a solution to your problem. Their costs are generally competitive with big box stores but even when items are a little more expensive it is well worth the extra cost because of all the expert help that comes along with it. My husband goes into this store at least twice a week, always finds item that we need and more than that service from people that really know their business and are so courteous to everyone Recently asked them to let me put a box of chocolates to sell for our grandson. YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS! I called ACE to find an old school Garage spring and received amazing customer service. I was originally at Lowes and the spring they carried did not have the tension I was needing and it was $50 a spring. I looked online at Home Depot and the price was right but said Limited Supply. I was walking that day (car was in the shop) so I called ACE because it was closer to Lowes. The employee told me they carried the smaller version of what I required, so I set off on foot to Home Depot in Glendora from the Lowes in San Dimas. For those of you familiar to the area I made it to the TJ Max parking lot when a man in a van stopped me. He said he was from ACE and he had spoke to me on the phone. He stated he checked their stock after having spoken to me and realized they had the spring I was looking for. Remembering I had told him I was walking, he hopped in his van to come find me. It was hot and he didn't want me to be walking all over town. When I asked him how did he find me, he replied "I just drove around looking for a man walking and carrying a large garage spring." He had me hop in the van and he brought me back to the ACE where I was able to purchase the spring for a very reasonable price. I will definitely be returning in the future to my local ACE Hardware. read more
