    Chicken Burrata (amazing)

Amazing spot. 1) I think this is a must visit Italian restaurant. Only issue is, it is kinda fancy inside. So, I felt a little awkward coming in on a rainy day with my hoodie on. 2) The must get item is the chicken burrata. It is beyond good. 3) Will try their desserts next like their rainbow cake and tiramisu.

I've been meaning to try San Giuseppe for years. I enjoyed the calamari, and loved the vodka sauce pizza. The best part too is that there is a parking lot, which is hard to come by in Hoboken. The service was great! My waitress was very nice. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable.

I love the penne vodka pie here so much so I wanted to try the vodka pizza without the pasta to see how it compared. It still had the bold, smoky flavor that I love, but I think the penne vodka pie is better as the penne gives each slice more satisfying texture. The vodka pizza had a very thin, charred crust so it wasn't as filling. We also tried their fried mozzarella sticks. These were good. They are made with seasoned homemade batter and are definitely higher quality than average. Their italian eggrolls are also very tasty.

Easter Sunday dinner at San Giuseppe and it was worth the drive into Hoboken. It was quiet but 2 tables of families, a few take out orders, and the open pizza oven area kept things lively. The crispy fried ravioli with a creamy ricotta center served with a great marinara made for a great start to dinner. Food served hot makes all the difference so we enjoyed it. For main I had eggplant parm with the great marinara and fresh mozzarella. I appreciated it being served hot but it was missing something and found the taste too plain. It's served with broccoli and carrots but you can get pasta instead. The other entree was a teriyaki salmon, yes an Asian style dish in an Italian place and yes my husband got it. Taking the chance payed off and it was good, fresh, nice sauce served with a delicious rice with some flavor that we couldn't figure out. We were 3 for 3 on the great temperature! Even though we were stuffed, we just had a feeling the tiramisu would be good and it was! The place was mostly empty so service was fast and efficient. We'll be back with the kiddos.

San Giuseppe is a (almost literally) hidden gem in Hoboken. In my handful of experiences, I'd put their food up against almost any Italian spot in Hoboken. The Chicken Burrata is the star, one of the best dishes I've had in Hoboken. Penne topped with thin crispy chicken cutlets, coated in a rich vodka sauce, and served with fresh (made in house I believe) burrata on top. It's incredible. Huge portion, worth every penny. Regardless of what else you get, if someone at the table orders the chicken burrata then you'll leave highly satisfied. And Giuseppe is a damn nice guy as well.

Now I know I'm from the Midwest but this is the best chicken cutlet sandwich I've ever had. Will be returning for this sandwich.

First impression of the restaurant, there is a lot of seating and everyone was nice! We didn't know we came for happy hour so that was a happy surprise, we ended up ordering the shrimp app on the happy hour menu and it was DELICIOUS, then we got the spicy rigatoni with grilled and breaded chicken. Also AMAZING! Talk about huge portions, honestly we should have shared (rookie mistake on our part) but the portions for the money is such a good deal. We had a lot of left overs we can't wait to eat this week! We will for sure be back to try everything else on the menu.

My friend who lives in Hoboken gave me a few options for Italian restaurants and Il Taviola took reservations, had space for us, and had a very good menu at decent prices. I had thought I had never been to Il Taviola before. But the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was like, well, actually I have been here before and I just straight up forgot. Woops. Well, it was a pleasant surprise to be back and I actually had an even better time this time than last time. I had the spicy chicken parm with rigatoni and wow, it was actually quite spicy. It was really good, but super spicy! My SFIL absolutely loved it though and killed the rest of my dish that I couldn't finish. Most of the group had the lamb ragu orecchiette and thought it was quite good. Both burrata appetizers were really good and thoroughly liked by the table. Service was attentive and we were never rushed. I really enjoyed that the restaurant wasn't super crowded. There were other tables but they were far away enough that we didn't feel like we were on top of each other.

Next would be the mafaldini shrimp scampi, then bolongese and shoemaker chicken. Entree portion sizes are very generous, none of us finished our plstes, so had the remaining to go to savor another day. We were super impressed with Otto Strada. We arrived early on a Friday and were happy there was no wait. Reservations are not accepted. We chose outside seating and we got a lovely seat in the shade under the covered area. We were greeted by Jeremy who offered us water. He was friendly and we had a nice conversation. He was new with the restaurant, but knew the menu well. It's nice to see a young man working and have pride in his job. Our waiter Chris arrived soon after. He was a great waiter. He was also super friendly and was able to help us navigate the menu and helped me with Gluten free options. We opted for the pear salad. I got a limoncello chicken and my husband got a pork chop. All the food was super delicious. It's a challenge for me to get a good meal being gf and dairy free now and this was perfection. Chris was able to put things on the side and recommended the perfect dishes! We had dessert also which was a GF banana cake with Gelato. It was delish. My only complaint was I thought the desserts were small and a little pricey. If priced a little less, we would have ordered 2 or 3. All in all it was a perfect experience and evening, and we will be back soon! Highly recommend!

I was a big fan of both, especially the ricotta, which was so incredibly creamy. For the mains, everyone's fresh-made pasta was excellent. We ended the night with the s'mores dessert, which was rich and chocolatey. Also, the fact that the restaurant is BYOB is a huge plus! The only downside was that I lost an item during our visit. I had a really hard time finding their contact information online, so I had to go back in person to ask about it, which was a bit annoying. The Mexican street corn, spicy rigatoni, cavatelli, and fettuccini. They were equally good but my favorite was hands down the fettuccini and rigatoni. Everything was so creamy and well seasoned. The ambiance: low moody lighting. Cool plates and attentive and kind service. I'd def recommend for date night with your lover our group of friends.
