Having realized a day before my registration was due that I needed a smog check first. I quickly called this place and was told to bring my car in with no wait time. He gave me a price for a smog check I could not pass up. When I arrived I received immediate service and was told my car would be completed in 10-15 minutes. It was completed in 5 minutes! My man John is on it. I found him on Yelp, called and told him I'd roll thru. When I pulled up, I mentioned that I called earlier and he said "Keet?" (which is Asian for Keith) - I was hella impressed that he remembered my name. He tole me to park, grabbed my keys, and I walked over to Burger King to grab a greasy/nasty/delicious lunch. FYI, always get the onion rings @ BK cause they're off the hook. So I sat and kinda took my time eating at BK, then walked back over to John's shop. To my suprise, he was finished so I met him inside, paid him, and was done. Easiest smog check ever. John is hassle-free and the price was reasonable ($80 total). Terrific job! I called in while I was at Walmart up the street. They said they were free at that time and I drove over immediately. When I arrived they went to work right away and I was nicely greeted. I checked-in on Yelp can got a nice discount. The entire process of conducting the smog check took less than 5 minutes ! What a record ! Other places I've been to took at least half an hour. I'm really impressed with how I was in and out in 5 minutes. I recommend coming here for sure. read more

Wonderful service! The technician was so helpful and even went above and beyond to help me. I went in for a regular smog test, plain and simple. But when I got there, he heard a sound that made him want to check my oil. He let me see that my car had NO oil. How embarrassing! But he helped me get it done and expressed what seemed to be genuine concern for my family's safety and our pocketbook, so I appreciated it! Will go again. read more

I usually don't write a review, but the owner asked me twice to write one and I said I would, so here it is. Although I won't say it was a "so pleasant that I can't wait to go back" experience, I still give 5 stars because they did their job, and they did it very quickly! My clock marked 1:55pm as I parked my car, and it was 2:11pm as I was leaving the place. Also, with the LivingSocial deal, I only paid a little over $40! So for that I give 5 stars. Here is why my visit wasn't necessarily "so pleasant". 1. They kept asking me to write an yelp review, once over the phone as I was making an appointment, and later as I was waiting for my smog test to be done. I told him I would, but he asked if I could do it right then with a smart phone. Not having smart phone with me saved me from writing this review under the heavy gaze of the owner. But I kept my word and am writing one! It's understandable that he wants an yelp review, so although it was a little uncomfortable that he was keeping asking for one, no minus star for it. 2. When I was calling in to make an appointment, they were asking me if I could come to another location that are 10 min away. Inside I was like "Errr... there is a reason why I am trying to come to this location and not the other." but what came out of my mouth was "Can I still go to this location, because the other location is too far for me?" He sounded a bit reluctant, but was ok with that. No minus star here either because he wouldn't have known where I was coming from and there might have a good reason why he wanted me to come there. I hope I didn't messed up his schedule for the day. 3. He was trying to charge me for the "same day appointment fee". Apparently you have to make an appointment 24 hours prior to the service if you are using LivingSocial or Groupon Deal. (It states clearly in Groupon but actually not in LivingSocial.) On LivingSocial, it only says I have to call 24hours prior to re-schedule/cancel appointment. When I first got there with my voucher, he said I had to pay the same day fee because I made an appointment within 24hours. He told me that the voucher clearly states that I had to make appointment 24hours prior to the service. I was like "No, it doesn't." And he kindly underline for me "schedule/cancel appointment". I had to even more kindly remind him that he forgot to underline "re-" in front of "schedule". This went back and forth 2-3 times (He was like "no, it's schedule." and I am like "err... no. it says RE-schedule...", and he started to read the whole voucher printout, and finally said "fine..." No minus star there because he ended up not charging me that. :) But I advise you to make appointment 24 hours prior to the service if you want to avoid any potential extra charge! read more

I was in and out within 25 minutes with no appointment, and that included a 10 minute wait to get me in. Price including all taxes and fees and electronic send to the DMV was $60 flat for my 2000 VW. No hassle, clean, fast. Exactly what I wanted. Been to Speedy Smog. Been to several other places. This is the place I will now go for my smog checks from here on out. read more

I give this shop the best rating because everything went according to my plan, quick, simple, smooth and economical. Who likes getting a smog check? I had a discount and needed to use it within a couple days or I would be late for DMV. I called to set up and appointment and was told I could come in at any time. The next day I went in just as another customer was leaving. Damien connected my '07 Tahoe to the computer linked to DMV , guess they don't need the dynamometer anymore on most cars. It passed and I was out of there in 15 minutes. Another customer showed up as I was checking out. Damien knew what he was doing and was friendly.
