Fantastic movers! Prior to finding them I had this ridiculous estimate. Although ridiculous to me is still an understatement ! Guy came thinking he was Hot S*** gold chains, bracelets, etc. My move was from the Bay to Sacramento three bedroom home and yes a whole lot of backyard toys. So he says " It would take two of the biggest trucks and would have to be a two day move with the truck drivers staying overnight " NO Lie! this is what he said. "we are looking at a minimum of $10,000.00 LMAO I said thank you but no thanks! So then I remember that when my sister moved she had mention that the movers had done a great job and she was very happy with work. So I decided to give them a call. They were courteous and on time. The owner walked through the house, went to back yard saw all the toys and we talked about if I needed extra packing supplies and what date we needed their service. Two days later he emails me a non ridiculous quote (not even half of what the first quote was). He advised that it would be ONE truck and 3 or 4 guys. I was very happy with that quote so I singed right away. The day came and just like they said, they were at my door exactly at 8am. They started wrapping all the big items and taking apart the furniture. During the process all the movers were super polite and very carful with our stuff. I think they finished about 11am and we headed down to Sacramento. We got there around 2pm (this was during the week with lots of traffic ) They right away started to work reassemble all furniture that was taking apart putting everything in its place. They finished By 4pm!! We were so thankful for their work we bought them late lunch + tip of course. The total had been even less than the quote I had first receive, so that was another big PLUS. We couldn't thank them enough for their amazing work ethic and speediness ! So THANK YOU so much ARMANDO, ALFONSO, and the rest of the Crue. I hope I don't have to move again(it's exhausting ) but, if I must I will not think twice to ask for their services again. I 100% recommend this company. read more

This company we over the top to help us out in a challenging time. My sister had to move her husband from the hospital into a memory care faculty with only a days notice . Top 10 found a team to do the move the next day. The next day while setting up the room we were told the facility had changed their mind and would not accept him. So we had a fire drill found an ever better spot and they got a team that could not only pick up and move everything to the new location on the same day but take some things back home since the new place was smaller. We had a great experience with San Mateo Movers and especially with Alfonso Jacinto the lead crew member. We hired them to move a large massage chair which they needed to partly disassemble to get it down the stairwell. They reassembled it with ease on the back end and made sure I took it for a full test drive before they left. They also helped me move some furniture around and when a piece of our bed rail came off, Alfonso took the initiative to repair it even though it wasn't his fault. Used these guys for a company move. Will definitely use them again! Nola was very upfront about all the costs and even recommended their green e-crates which make packing a breeze! No need to buy flimsy cardboard boxes, no taping... Just load, fold the lid, and GO. They also stack onto rollied dollies so moving them around a space is easy when unpacking. Nola also did a walkthrough in-person to assess the amount of stuff we needed to move. Then on the day of the move, Alfonso and his team (Anibal, Bismar, Alexander, and Pedro) did a STELLAR job of efficiently and carefully moving all of our things. Even electronics were wrapped and moved with care (monitors, TVs); desks were also wrapped. Even moved a huge fridge like it was a feather. They worked quickly, were very organized, knew exactly what to do, and got the entire job done in under 3 hours! This was a stress-free and easy moving experience!! I called with less than a 3-day notice and they were able to accommodate my request and fit me in on a schedule that worked well for me. Nola's team of four guys who came out to help us move a not-so-baby grand piano up a flight of stairs (with a 90 degree bend) were stellar! Other movers were not willing to even try to get the piano up the stairs, but Nola's team was willing to give it a try and it worked! The team was masked, very patient with us, and worked incredibly hard to get a massive piano up a tight stairwell. We had to do a series of 4 smaller moves over the last few months moving our furniture from one room to another and his team was extremely careful and his pricing was very reasonable especially for the level of care. Just wanted to give a huge shoutout to San Mateo Movers for very professional service they gave me moving from San Mateo to Boise. I had contacted several large national movers (e.g. Allied Van Lines) and either got outrageously expensive quotes or pushy sales tactics. Then I called Nola (the owner) and it was a completely different experience. She got right back to me, gave me a fair price, the movers showed up on time, were extremely polite and careful with my stuff and boy are they fast! They drove all night and were at my new house in Boise an hour early. Just as careful and professional at this end as they were in San Mateo. I had a great experience with San Mateo Movers. To start with I was able to book them for a weekend move with only 3 days notice. On the day of the move Raul texted me in advance to let me know the previous job that day was running late. I understand these things happen and appreciated Raul's frequent communications to let me know when he would be arriving. This company is amazing. We recently moved from Menlo Park to Redwood City - our home is 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and we have 3 kids so there is a ton of stuff. From our first interaction with this company, they were excellent - the initial phone consultation was helpful in shaping our expectations and timeline. The on-site review was efficient and informative, and we chose them on the spot because they were so thoughtful and polite. Some of the other companies we interviewed were more expensive, because they are really just a local storefront for a big national chain. This company is family owned and operated and takes pride in their work - and it shows. The moving process itself was 2 days - 1 day of packing, 1 day of moving. The team was outstanding - very professional, safe and courteous all the way through. And the cost was as good or better than any other quote we received. Nola was our point person for coordinating this move - she was available and helpful throughout the process and her whole team was top notch. One thing to keep in mind with moving - you will be spending the better part of 2 days with your moving crew - so choose wisely! BEWARE! One star is way too high for this group! I reached out to this company due to the ratings and found that I was mislead, deceived and let down. First I was told untruths about the company and its employees, then I was informed that the company only accepts cash ( the website shows various types of payment options), the movers would supply certain packaging materials ( they did not), they are very careful with your possessions, ( several pieces of my furniture was dropped including antiques and/or disassembled against my wishes), would pack the truck carefully and tight ( things were not packed very well with a lot of wasted space inside the truck, boxes had fallen over and several were broken when we arrived at our destination). If this isnt enough, the most alarming of all was that the person in charge kept insisting that our possessions would not fit into the rental truck so there was a constant discussion from the very moment he walked into the house (without an assessment of each room) about his solution which was for us to rent his company truck so he "can make some extra money" and he would drive our shipment himself. We had to hear this the entire time he was loading our home - the best solution was to put everything into storage and he would drive our things to the destination the following weekend so he could earn more money ( "Hey man I need to make more money"). Plus we would pay him to remove our things and take everything that day to storage as well. This was unprofessional, disruptive and once he got the full picture that the answer was going to remain "No" ( after 2 hours of this bantering) our items were then mishandled. (NOTE: They left before everything was loaded and we finished and was able to get everything into the truck). I will never recommend this company, and will advise my friends and colleagues to stay clear of this unprofessional group of people. The same group of people cant possibly be the individuals being discussed on these reviews. read more

We had 3 quotes - and they were by far the easiest to work with to get a us quote and the availability schedule. So we booked them. Confirming the booking was just as easy! On the day of the move, Edgar called me about 45 mins before arriving to say he was coming. He came with a crew of 4 and they worked very hard and quickly to pack up our house and move us to the new house. We also had 2 little boys curiously watching them and they were awesome with the kids. It was fun! Also known as "Top 10 Movers" - Alfonso and his team were awesome! The price was great and they explained the costs up front. They showed up on time and worked extremely hard all day! They were even more careful with my stuff than I would be packing it myself - using various things (bubble wrap/paper/cellophane) to wrap everything nicely and set things in boxes so they wouldn't move or break. I thought they were extremely professional and showed a lot of experience and knowledge in organizing and packing things for storage.
