First time here. The restaurant has a new ownership now which has more authentic central Mexican cuisine. Restaurant is very spacious with lots of seating and souther Mexican feel to it. I like the warm color scheme and paintings. The background music was nice to hear playing a lot of Selena which i really enjoyed. I ordered the chilaquiles which were pretty good to say the least. The waitress was nice. Lots of younger staff working in there when I was there. The downside is the prices and portions of food. It's really pricey for the amount of food they give you. read more

Ordered 3 street tacos (they were cold and tasteless) one quesadilla (soggy, tasteless), one salad (fine), chips and quac and a flauta app. Picked up order, they forgot the rice and beans that the menu clearly states comes with the quesadilla. We called, they put us on hold for a long time and then insisted rice and beans do not come with the quesadilla and hung up. Flautas had nothing inside and were just a fried blob. $110 and we are all still hungry. So bummed and feel ripped off. read more

Under new ownership. Prices higher - Quantities less.... but still has great employees and atmosphere. New menu is very limited. Enchiladas were simply soft shell tacos with salsa poured on them. We went for Happy Hour/Early dinner! Had very indulgent margaritas that were fantastic. The guacamole was some of the best we've ever had!...so fresh served with great tortillas chips. The stand-outs were the Street Tacos. And ESPECIALLY THE Quesabirria Tacos!!!!!!!...SO delicious. Please never take those off the menu. The made-from-scratch tortillas took the tacos to another stratosphere and were outstanding. Highly recommend everyone give them a try. Just a short drive west of the city. We've visited about 3 or 4 times under the new ownership. We've had great service and like the remodeling they've done inside. I know some people are sour about the changes, but I will say, I can taste the difference. The food has definitely improved. We've tried most of the menu now. My favorite is the chicken fajitas. The chicken is fresh, tender, juicy and flavorful, and the tortillas are delicious... you can tell they are fresh... they have a nice chewy texture, a slightly sweet corn taste and smell, and they don't break when you stuff them full. Yum! We will keep coming back and are excited to have great authentic Mexican food near us. read more

It's small but I great Mexican spot in Long Lake. I was there for lunch and was promptly greeted. Complimentary chips and salsa can put within 3 minutes of me being seated. Their salsa has a kick and was chunkier then most places. I loved that!!!! I ordered the chimichanga with shredded beef and rice. The chimichanga was good and it came with tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream and guacamole. The rice I'm fairly certain was packaged rice based on the size of the peas. It was pretty good. Service was excellent. I was checked in on several times. My plate was taken away before the check was presented. I also liked they had a napkin dispenser at the table. As a chronic spiller it was nice to have extra on hand. I would go there again when in the area. read more

Love the fresh made to order tortillas. The guacamole is very fresh and excellent. The quesabirria tacos are excellent and I highly recommend. The taquitos for appetizers are a great way to start. I was not impressed with the new San Pancho. The food is incredibly spicy, you don't get chips and salsa unless you order a meal and i found the prices to be quite high. Be careful ordering a HH house margarita, it will get made incorrectly and then charge you $18 for a tiny margarita. I do miss the old San Pancho read more

Excellent food. The food here is of excellent quality and authentic, not tex-mex. The hand made tortillas are to die for. Love the tacos.

They make a good margarita, and their chips and salsa is very good and comes with the meal. This visit I had guacamole and chicken nachos. Guacamole was great, as usual. But the nachos...no melted cheese on top, and when I asked the server about it, he brought me a bowl of crumbly whitish cheese, which was already on the plate with the nachos. But there was none of the melted cheese, instead just a tiny bit of the crema queso sauce on some of the chips. I should've sent it back and ordered something else. read more

I miss the old san pancho, they are trying to hard to be fancy when in reality nothing in that building has been updated except for some flowers on the table, also the price is outrageous, the food I ordered was soggy and no where near worth the price I paid. Will never be returning unless it is under new ownership or the prices go down, need to realize it's not a 6 smith environment and no one wants that in San pancho you can go to makanda if you wanted to spend 24 bucks for some tacos. Unfortunately, this review is a 4 star RED FLAG. Our experience from the first step in the door was awkward. The host was on a cell phone while seating us and remained that way our entire visit. It seemed as though they were ready to close even though it was 7:30pm. We were a huge inconvenience. Red Flag #1- On cell phone the entire time, even while brining us food and asking us about our meal. Red Flag #2 - the bartender/server complained when a "speciality drink" was ordered. Saying there had never been training for any type of the speciality drinks and that the manager was needed (the human on the phone). Then I could over hear the exchange between the two while "training". it was less than encouraging. Once the drink arrived it was good. Red Flag #3 - About 10 minutes in and after we had ordered our meal. We had to walk to the kitchen and ask if we could get chips and salsa as well as waters. Red Flag #4 - The seafood in our Fajita tasted like it had been scraped off the bottom of the freezer. It was gummy and fishy and tasted awful. I'm so glad I stopped after shopping at gear west! The food was great, but I have to say their service is truly outstanding. They are so polite and attentive and it's not like I was the only customer. I had the #7 which is a burrito and tamale. It doesn't look like a lot of food, but after I finished it plus free chips and salsa, I was ready for a nap I was so full. I plan to come back. read more

We live in Dallas and we were in Minnetonka and wanted Mexican food not as many options as we have in Tx but this place was open and gad room and it looked authentic starting the menu is great for variety I had one of their specialty burritos first impression was way smaller than at home and it was more expensive about 30% more than TX and who ever rolled it has never eaten a burrito before it was rolled 90° off so I had three bites of beans three bites of meat then the last end was all sour cream no cheese and they forgot the beans and rice that goes along with the meal oh well lesson learned read more

WOW! Just WOW! This is a small, nothing pretentious Mexican restaurant in quaint downtown Long lake. But oh my goodness is the food wonderful. And the Margaritas (esp the Texas Margaritas) are strong and tasty. I have eaten here many times this past summer outside on their sidewalk patio. Mostly heavy apps and was impressed by the food and the wait staff. This time with the cooler weather we ate inside. I got the carnita enchiladas (pictured). When it was delivered I thought the order was wrong because it did not look like the enchiladas I have had else where. It was more like Fajita stuff over cheese enchiladas. But OMG it was one of the best things I have eaten. Flavorful, tender, meaty, and huge. Just so good. My husband got the flautas and he said his were larger than chain Mexican restaurants and twice as good. Because everything here is house made. The wait staff is wonderful and eager to assist. Tried this place for dinner last night. Was promptly greeted and seated. There were a number of tables already filled and the place filled up as we ate our meal. The service was pretty good where we were checked on multiple times and beverages refilled when needed. We ordered a small guacamole, kids quesadilla, burrito lagos and fajitas vallarta. The guacamole was pretty good, had to add a small amount of salt. The salsa that came with the chips had a solid mild heat which was pleasant considering most places I have to add spice as it is usually too bland. The quesadilla my daughter put the beans on although she mentioned the beans were a bit liquidy compared to what she likes. The burrito lagos was ok, I had to add some salt and then pour some salsa on it to give it more flavor as I prefer mexican chicken with a bit more seasoning. The fajitas vallarta had a nice combination of sausage, steak, and chicken with the veggies. Had to ask for more tortillas but overall they were flavorful. Overall it was a decent place. Likely will be back to try other items. read more

Sort of torn on this place. Service was great, margaritas were tasty and the chips came out warm with salsa. We had 3 adults and a child with 3 drinks, no appetizers and the bill was over $110. The food was only so so, the rice was dry and the kids meal tasted like it had been fried in old grease. Seeing all the great reviews we were really looking forward to great Mexican. None of us said we'd go back as we left. Unfortunate as our server was friendly and prompt as it appeared service was at other tables. we all had a medium margarita and none of us could taste the alcohol. While others have raised concerns about the service experience, we've been blown away by their willingness to make things right. Food is lackluster and disappointing. We've given it several chances and it's the same story every time. If you want fresh, flavorful, Mexican food, I'd suggest elsewhere. Many of the dishes are lacking any inspiration whatsoever...hard taco shells came out looking like they were straight out of an Ortega box...with meat, cheese, and lettuce and nothing else. No sides. Burrito looked like likely store bought flour tortillas, boxed rice mix, and the chicken it was overcooked and flavorless. No sides, just a little bit of shredded lettuce and tomato on the plate next to it. For a $17.99 entree. There was so little flavor to everything. It didn't feel like we were "out to eat", it felt like a dinner we threw together at home on a time crunch with no access to seasonings. Came for an early dinner and was going to order the Burrito Lagos. It only came with salad so I asked the price to get a side of rice and beans. The rice and beans (separate) are individual servings and cost $3.50 each! What a complete rip-off! Gouging customers for side orders is not how to improve your margins!!!!? High end steakhouses charge $7 for a family-sized (serves 2-3) side orders of a higher caliber of food (scallop potatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts, etc.). $7'for rice and retried beans?!!! I could have ordered an additional child's quesadilla which came with rice and beans for $6.95'and taken the quesadilla home for later!! read more

This is such a great, hidden find. Fantastic authentic dishes (especially the enchiladas verdes), reasonably priced, and consistently great service. You'll have trouble finding nicer people and better authentic mexican food in the west metro. Well worth the quick drive out to Long Lake! read more
