I've been frequenting San Pocho since my friend introduced me to it in high school. I fell in love with the Bandeja Paisa con carne molida from the start. That's my go to dish. I'm a creature of habit so it's hard for me to get away from my usual choice. The bandeja is tasty, with a good rice to beef ratio. It includes a chicharron, arepa, fried egg, and beans along with it. I like their carne molida better than Monserrate's, but the last time I came the meat looked really pale & odd. Maybe it was an off day because it's usually very good. Their empanadas are good quality and they don't slack on the filling. Service is quick, you can usually pick where you would like to sit. They food comes out super quick, I've never waited more than 10 minutes for an order. I come here pretty often since it's walking distance from my home. The only thing that sucks is that they close at 8 pm. read more

The quality of the food at this place has really gone down, as has their service - as others have remarked. When you dine in, you can help yourself to as much hot sauce as you'd like but God forbid you order takeout and ask for extra because they'll treat you like a thief or charge you for a minuscule cup of hot sauce (minimum of 4). Since moving to Calle Ocho I am determined to master and try all the different South & Central American food there is to offer in my new neighborhood. Colombian tops the list and if you are not familiar with Colombian empanadas they are VERY different from the Spanish or Argentinean versions. Crisply fried and served with a spicy scallion relish on the side you just might become addicted as I have. Most things are tasty here and it is a great place for families or kids. This is a great cute Colombian place on Calle Ocho. I had the full meat platter! It had everything you could ask for, sausage, beef, chicharrones, rice, beans, eggs, and an arepa. I actually only went for an arepa and the food looked so good, I got the whole package! After coming out of my food coma, I was happy! Cheap and GOOD authentic Columbian food- the pork chops w/rice & beans were soooooooo good. Try the passion fruit or mango shake- with milk not water. Their columbian patties (beef and rice inside) and even the tres leche desert was amazing. Not too sweet. Our bill came up to $24 for two shakes, two entrees, a total of 4 patties and dessert. Can't beat that. I tried fried pork skin (it came with my friend's steak and she doesn;t eat pork) so so so so good. They speak little english but you will be able to say the numbers on the menu if needed. If anywhere around Little Havana try it! read more

Favorite Colombian food spot that in my mind has FAR exceeded La Moon. The service is great and their columbian dishes are second to none. My all time favorite here is the Bandeja paisa. Every item on the platter seems to be made fresh and the quality of the meat is great. I have had many different dishes here but the Bandeja paisa takes the cake. The empanadas and their hot sauce are cant miss appetizers. For the price and quality I dont believe there are many others in Miami that can compare to the value. There is also a "Mini-supermarket" as part of the restaurant, where you can buy colombian food products, art, knick knacks, and trinkets at a very reasonable price. The food was pretty regular but the wait for the food was long and very slow service in general not really impressed at all. I had the grilled chicken with a salted potato, flavors were good but underwhelming. I felt the same for the arepa con queso. Used to come in at least twice a week. Used to be great. Lately it has gone downhill. Came in today, and once seated, waited for 20 min just get a water. Ordered a soup, and that took another 20 minutes. To top it off, that came to the table cold. I'm guessing it's not that easy to operate one of the 3 microwaves they have to warm up the soup. Best colombian food in miami!

I decided to come to this place after reading reviews on Yelp. This spot comes up as top reviewed Colombia Restaurants. So I decided to check it out with my mom she's Paisa. So when we arrived at noon on a Tuesday. The parking lot was packed, cars parked one behind each other. After waiting a few minutes caught a spot plus noticed there is street parking on the side. I stepped inside to a splendor of Colombian decor. Our waiter was great attended us quickly and took our order even suggesting a soda that I love but forgot the name of it. After I quickly described he mentioned Colombiana. We got empanadas that were delicious and you must try that green picante. Pretty spicy stuff there, but I love burn your tongue off spice. I ordered a Palomilla yum but I had higher expectations. All in all the food was great just busy parking lot can always park on the side street. read more

This place is not much to look at, and the crowd is not the fanciest in town. Having said that, if you know what to order, you will have a wonderful, great meal at a very reasonable price. The staff is very nice. The food comes out hot and it does not take long. Things I highly recommend: -the empanadas -the sancocho ( a thick soup with meat and root vegetables served as an entree) -the entire fried fish with coconut rice and patacones (fried smashed green plantains) -the ajiaco (thick chicken soup with potatoes capers and cream served as an entree) They have great coconut flan. I am not a big fan of their ground beef (carne Molida)--it's ground like sand and flavorless. An aunt ordered tongue and found it very bad. Their cafe con leche is delicious too. I eat the arepas from the little market area of the restaurant every morning with shredded queso blanco from El Latino/Publix and a slice of deli roasted chicken (from the deli not a slice of the one that comes in the bag), i know, it sounds strange, but if you put a bit of butter on the arepa and cook it until its crisp the taste will change your life. Other than that i know very little about this place, i walk in, buy my arepas, and walk out. Looks a bit divey, but hey its calle 8. Also, DO NOT buy the cheese arepa, it ruins the whole recipe, only buy the plain....... you must specify they are terrible at distinguishing the two. read more

What you see is what you get. Down to earth, delicious Colombian food. The empanadas are dangerously good because you will eat one and be ready for another.
