Very Disappointed!!! Customer service sucked! I came in Saturday 3/4 I was very unhappy with the services I received. I received a Egift for the amount of $289 for my birthday. So, I booked my appointment for my FIRST spa experience and it just sucked! I explain to the lady answering the phone it would be my first time ever doing the whole spa thing. As soon I get there it was giving me your gift card and let me sit in this room in a massage chair for the next 15 minutes without telling me how the whole process of the spa experience works. I was in this chair thinking wth really this is my massage?! So, I physically had to get out of the chair go to the front and asked the lady what the heck was going on because I didn't pay all this money to come in here sitting massage chair when I can go to the mall and pay two dollars and sit in a chair. The lady upfront was so rude so impatient and so offended because I asked her what was going on and what am I supposed to do very unprofessional and NOT kind at all. So, I came to her she finally explained it was the relaxation room where you sit and waited for your technician to come get you she offer me hot tea to pursue me to get water, really?! Next thing I know the technician for my massage comes out to get me. We go into the room I get butt naked she tell me to lay down and I do what she asked me to and then she starts the whole massage thing maybe 30 minutes into the massage session she loses her bottle of lotion interrupts the whole relaxation pulls out her cell phone turns on the flashlight and she's crawling around the whole room looking for her lotion then she apologizes steps out of the room to get a new bottle of lotion she comes back with lotion starts the massage again and right there she lifts the blanket right there by my feet she finds her lotion she had left it by my feet. It was Not relaxing what so ever! After that I go in to get my facial and that right there was just pathetic. All the technician was interested in was selling me a different package what a turn off. She did not explain anything she was doing to me she didn't explain any products she was using on me she didn't explain anything she stepped out of the room a couple of times and when it was time to check out it was all about the tip and selling me the vagina steam experience. My vagina is just fine. And if you are going to be selling vagina treatments find a girl who is confident in using the word vagina and who can sell it. It was a crappy first spa experience and NOT worth $289 I get BETTER service and more for my money in Chinatown!! Seriously disappointed! Looked up places to try the yoni stream (something I've been wanting to do for some time now) and the sanctuary spa was the first place that popped up. When I arrived the atmosphere was so peaceful and it smelled amazing. The representative, Evan was very warm and friendly and he explained the process to me and my friend in detail. The stream was so relaxing and felt amazing. I would recommend this place to all my friends and family. I will definitely be back! read more

I found Santuary Spa on the internet while searching for facials for my upcoming wedding. Thank God I found them, everyone there is so nice and wonderful. The place is wonderful, so relaxing, and yes they are open on weekends. I have been getting the interceutical infusion therapy, and my face is glowing. My face was covered with marks from laser hair removal on my face, with this infusion therapy, my face is back to being clear again. I am very thankful for that :-) My therapist's name is Storm, she does a wonderful job each time. She really cares about you and your skin, very professional but at the same time down to earth type of personality. Storm really takes time to know your face and recommends stuff that will actually be good for your skin. I can't wait to go back and do facial before my big day very soon :-) read more

I have come here a handful of times and have had amazing experiences. I never had a bad massage until this time. I am very disappointed in Sanctuary and how they handled my feedback. I scheduled a back to back massage and facial. I had asked for the same person I had last time but they told me he was no longer working there but recommended me to someone else who they said was fabulous for a massage and they had someone else for the facial. The facial was amazing. I would go back again for a facial with Jill. I asked for a deep massage and to focus on my neck and back because I had a lot of tension in those areas but that didn't happen, i had zero pressure and got absolutely nothing from the massage besides a back rub. My legs and arms were more focused on than my back which I specifically asked for. At check out I mentioned that I was disappointed and was told they would offer 10% off, which was nothing. I ended up leaving more stressed than when I got there. I paid $100 to lay there for a 1 hour massage and get nothing out of it. Very disappointed in the maexperience. I would like to update my review. Sanctuary has the best customer service and truly cares about their spa and their customers. I am thankful that they care about all reviews and strive to make it the best experience for anyone that come through their doors. I will certainly come back to Sanctuary, as I believe this is one of the best spa in Houston. read more

The BEST spa in Houston. What a peaceful experience! Every single person that works here is so kind and hospitable, quite the all-star staff. From the start, the interior of the waiting room and whole place is modern and beautiful. Rudy was my massage therapist and he was extremely thorough, consistent and responsive to all of my specific needs. He had great energy! I took my mom here as a surprise and Carola was her therapist. My mom's expectations were exceeded by far and she really enjoyed the jacuzzi as well :). Evan was accommodating and personable, he helped me set up a last minute appointment and was patient and professional when I asked him a lot of questions over the phone. I've been to this spa a couple of times, and I've absolutely loved every single time. I've gotten numerous services (massages, facials, wraps) and each technician has treated me with respect and has been marvelous with their techniques. I knew I wanted a membership by my second visit. I've taken a couple of people already and I will continue to refer and bring more. The quality of the massages you receive for the price is so worth it. I've gotten many massages through the years and this is definitely my favorite in Houston. I've been given bad facial treatments so I was skeptical of receiving one here and I'm so glad I gave them a chance. I highly highly recommend going! I treated a friend to a massage to celebrate her 50th birthday. The waiting area was tranquil and calming. I could have sat in there for hours, but as soon as we checked in they took us back quickly. The 50 minute Swedish massage was extremely relaxing. I will definitely go back. read more

I recently had the Simplistic spa package here and it was my first time here. It consisted of the vichy shower, facial, and massage. The ambiance was nice and relaxing. My massage was with Andrulla and she was great. Very knowledgeable and worked out all my tension spots. My facial was with Brea, the owner. She was great as well. I've been meaning to write this review forever, but I figure better late than never! I've tried several spa's in Houston and while traveling, and this is one of my favorites. I come back as often as I can, and have always had exceptional service. By far, this was the best facial I have ever had. I recommend their facial to everyone, over and over! I really appreciate the lack of product sales pressure. Nothing ruins my zen like someone listing everything that's wrong with my face and all the stuff they can sell me to fix it. read more

This spa was a wonderful experience. I am thinking about switching here instead of massage envy because the experience was so much more relaxing. I went in for a facial and have been very pleased with the results. They have a great line of products that really work, and they let you know what they used, but there are no hard feelings if you don't buy them. Fantastic customer service and very knowledgeable staff. The woman who did my facial gave me more attention and listened more in one visit than my dermatologist ever has and I got better results than I have been getting with prescription medicines. read more

This was the worst massage I have ever had. I was massaged by Johnathan and he basically just massaged my neck and my neck has not been right since. My husband gave me a gift card of $450 there for a couple massage and lunch and it was a waste. The relaxation room is also the reception room and also where u eat lunch. Very very akward and uncomfortable. I wish I can get my money back and I also think they tipped him from that too. He didn't deserve one. read more

I have been coming to this spa off and on for years. I may not be that consistent as a customer, but their service has always been consistent. I live too far away now but when I know I am in the area, I will always try to make an appt for a massage/facial which I believe is top notch. I love that the staff have a passion for what they do, are always professional and give great service and are totally not pushy with their products, although I do buy their stuff from time to time. I just had my "nano" eyebrows done by Courtney at Sanctuary Spa. I have wanted my eyebrows microbladed for a very long time, but after seeing some really bad brows, I was very hesitant. I researched for a year until I found Courtney. I opted for the nano brows after learning the technique is more precise and lasts longer, and I am extremely pleased with the result. Very natural looking brows! She explains everything in detail, is very comforting, professional, and most importantly, a perfectionist. This girl has had a LOT of training and experience, yet still continues to go to training seminars to keep up with the latest and best techniques. She is very personable and extremely passionate about her business. I never felt rushed and she answered every question I asked. She really takes the time to get the brows as perfect as possible. The spa is very relaxing, the staff personable and professional. I would highly recommend and will definitely go back. Check out "Brow Confidant" on Instagram for photos of her work. Parking is very limited, (approximately 10 spots), and sometimes difficult to get in an empty spot due to the lack of room between the two rows of parking spots. I had to wait 10-15 min for a spot to open as the other businesses around the spa have reserved parking with towing enforced. Fortunately I was early, So allow time! read more

I have gone several times. This last time the massage therapist spent 40+ minutes of a 75 minute massage on my head! When I mentioned it to the receptionist, she talked to the manager and therapist. I had not asked for anything, just wanted them to know. She came back and said the massage therapist - Sandy - said I was asleep so how would I know. I have NEVER fallen asleep during a massage and she essentially called me a liar! I left as I was very angry. When I called back to speak calmly with the manager, she refused to speak with me. I will never go back and sadly that was a waste of my time and money. Thank you for making my massage stressful. In the past - I had heard other customers complaining and the staff did everything they could to get them out the door without being helpful. Now I know why. read more

Poor customer service. I received a gift certificate for services at this spa and am unable to use the certificate. When I called to explain my situation and ask for the certificate to be credited back to the gift-giver (within 72 hours of online purchase), the front desk person said "How much is it for? Let me ax my boss." So I waited and was then told that I should have read the disclaimer at the time of purchase - no refunds or returns accepted. I was shocked to learn that (apparently) the amount of my certificate would set the terms of my ability to receive a refund. Overall, the tone at this spa with both my phone and online encounters have been rude & generally disagreeable. I'm unable to come to terms with the manager/owner of the establishment and intend on donating the certificate to a shelter so several people can use the spa. I have certainly learned 2 valuable lessons: First I refuse to patronize an establishment that lacks common sense when it comes to customer satisfaction. Second, never purchase a spa certificate for someone unless you know that they enjoy the specific spa first. read more

I have been going to this spa since it was called Brea's Sanctuary and they were on one of their first few location, which was on Sunset. I came across this spa because it looked unique. It looks like a house from the outside, and yet inside it was pretty cozy. Later they moved to West Alabama by Timmons, and the complex looks ok from the outside, but once you step inside, you are really transported into a sanctuary. What a fitting name. I know the Owner since 93 and since she had those twin babies. I love this place. She designed the place herself. Each room is different. The music is always relaxing. Dark interior, almost look like a pretty sanctuary dungeon, and the music is always good. They have an array of massages. They have the Thai Poultice, The Indian Head massage which was divine. What I like about this place is I think they are the only spa in Houston which has the Hydrotherapy room. It has a stone table you lay on and hot/cold water stream jets you. Or you can soak in the tub full of silt mud. Price was ok for a place like this. I like it too that they open on Sundays. If only I live closer, I would have gone more often. read more
